Apartment in Long Rock, Nr. Marazion, Cornwall, England - Few minutes walk to the beach

The flat is a three bedroom property with ample accommodation, sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms. Along with the three bedrooms (1 double, one king, one with two single beds) there is a newly fitted family bathroom with double shower and large kitchen/diner/living room. The kitchen is fantastic and includes a new gas cooker, new tumble dryer and new dishwasher. The flat also benefits from being close the beach, on a direct bus route from Penzance station and a perfect central location to explore West Cornwall. The village store is right below you which also houses the Post Office. There are two great pubs within a few hundred yards.

We love it's close proximity to a beautiful and quiet beach and that it is so easy to travel to all of the other wondrous places Cornwall has to offer. Some personal favourites are Pothcurno beach and the Minack Theatre and Mousehole.

Well equipped, spotlessly clean, great value

Our.second.stay. The property is a little tired in places. But is exceptionally good value. It's very clean. The bathrooms brand new. Would not hesitate to book again. Rachel is very helpful

Well Appointed....

The property itself was great. The bedrooms were comfortable and we appreciated that there were plenty of linens and towels. The bathroom was really nice and the shower was amazing. The kitchen had everything that you would wish for in a kitchen and plenty of room for the six of us. The living room was comfortable and I could see if we had had rainy days it would have been perfect. We did wish that the property have fans, we understand no aircon, but fans would have been nice, since the temperatures were in the high 80's.

The property was exceedingly close to the road and even though we knew there was no parking parking on the street was very difficult, with young children this can be a little hairy. Having unusually warm weather we had to have all the windows open this meant traffic noises and overwhelming food cooking smells all of the time.

The beach being a walk was not an issue like other reviewers had mentioned, it was just a short walk, although along a very busy road. Wouldn't it be nice if the railway put some pedestrian bridges across the tracks?? Once at the beach it was very nice with great views of St. Michaels Mount.

Overall it worked for our short sojourn to Cornwall to show my American family one of the most beautiful corners of the world. Thank You.

I will note your comment about fans - it is very rare we get such warm weather but I will see what I can do to get fans in the property if we get hot weather again. Beat regards Rachel

The flat had everything we could have possibly needed. The owners have thought of everything :-).......It is large, spacious, clean and we had a wonderful time. The flat is central to most locations and we saw every part of this area that we had planned to.

I would recommend staying here to all of my friends and family in Australia..........Thank you again!!!!!

Family Holiday

We stayed with our family of 6 a week's holiday in this apartment. From the equipment the apartment was as described. The carpet, the apartment was a bit dark and musty. Under the 2nd bedroom the shop was in the continuous, even at night, the refrigerators hummed. From the balcony, which was, however, not to use, we had sea views. But you could not reach directly this because between home and the sea ran the railway line. In addition, before the apartment was a bus stop, a double-decker bus stopped at the approximately every 20 minutes. The apartment is located about 4 km from the center in a suburb Long Rock. There was only one restaurant in the immediate vicinity. They were otherwise dependent on the car. And we found it a pity not to have any personal contact with the owner. The key was picked up at the beginning of the week at the store and leave again at the end.

Otherwise, the area is gorgeous. You can do from there many excursions.

We do have a housekeeper to deal with any issues and are always available via email but since we live abroad personal contact isn't possible. I'm sorry that you found the shop below noisy , Some guests find the shop and regular bus service helpful. We have endeavoured to make the property as bright as possible. Great location!

My family and I stayed in the flat from a Saturday to Thursday. It was centrally located and we got to many sites in less than an hour. The flat is close to several grocery stores and the beach.

The apartment itself was large and had everything we needed. Great value! We would stay again!

Good base for a lovely holiday

Had a fantastic time staying in Cornwall - we walked for miles!

The flat was nice but smelt a little damp when we first arrived. The smell went when we opened a few windows so it wasn't a major problem for us.

It was spacious and clean and tidy. The kitchen had a massive fridge with an ice-maker, although we couldn't work out how to use it! The weather wasn't that great and rained quite a bit so we made use of the washing machine and dryer a few times and they were better than what I have at home!

Large lounge, one large double, one small double and quite a large twin room.

The people in the shop below weren't that friendly so I wouldn't recommend asking them questions!

Please be aware that you cannot get to the beach down the side path as there is a railway line blocking it, you have to walk down the road about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile away. (The photograph of the beach sign is a little misleading and was quite a disappointment to us.)

Overall it was a good base for our dog walking holiday.

The ice maker on the fridge causes a leak when it is enabled therefore the housekeeper makes sure the freezer is stocked with ice. I will add a note of explanation on our welcome materials. A coastal path, popular with walkers is located to the rear of the property. Our guests have noted that we are a great location for exploring Cornwall's tourist attractions like, Penzance, St. Michael's Mount, Land's End, the filming locations of Poldark, Mousehole, Truro, Hayle, and many more.


Large, family-friendly beach is a sort walk along the road that the property lies on. Parking is available at the beach. The beach is in the beautiful Mounts Bay right next to Marazion and St Michael's Mount. From owner experience the harbour and Penzance promenade is a two-mile paddle in a kayak!


Newquay Airport 35 miles. Penzance Bus, Coach & Railway Station 1 mile. The flat is on the bus route from Penzance to St Ives and beyond and on a direct bus route from Penzance station.


Penzance 1 mile. Mousehole 5 miles. Paradise Park, Hayle 7 miles. St Ives 8 miles. Porthcurno beach and the Minack theatre 10 miles. Lands End 12 miles. The Eden Project 49 miles.

Further Details:

No better place to spend a winter break or a Christmas in a home away from home. Experence the Mousehole Harbour lights (for their 48th year!) 'Switch on' is the 17th December and there will be a Carolaire service from local choirs and the Pendeen Silver Band.

Two great pubs in the village - The Mexico Inn and Mounts View Hotel.

The village store is directly beneath you, there is also a Post office just over the road and Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury are within two miles. The Station pub in Marazion is only 10 minutes walk up the beach path. Historic Penzance is a two mile stroll along the same path in the opposite direction.

Bookings and enquiries can be taken via email. A £100 deposit is required on booking and the full amount is payable 8 weeks before arrival date. A security deposit is required.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Please vacate the property by 10.00am so that we can prepare it for the next visitors. You may access the property from 3pm onwards. These times may be negotiable at certain times of the year.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
