About the Owner

We are a professional couple who purchased the flat as an investment and enjoy using it for short breaks but have decided to let it out for Edinburgh festival periods. We let it out for 3 nights at the least and 7 nights during the Edinburgh Fringe/festival.

We loved our 3 week stay here. Fantastic apartment, convenient to city and the kids loved the grassed area. Thanks! Kate, Nick, Adie, Tilda, AUSTRALIA.

We had a really great time staying in this apartment. It is conveniently placed with good access to public transport and a great shopping centre only a stone throw away. Barrie and Beatty made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The flat is very clean and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped too. Thankyou very much. Tripti, Tianna ...

We had a great stay here between the RSCDS Annual Global Gathering in Perth and a family event in Bo'ness!! It's trly Scandinavian in it's comfort levels!! GREAT public transport (and private parking!) and Cameron Toll's SO easy to use! Derek and Ilse, Frederickssand, DENMARK.

A nice little flat

  • 4 of 5

We liked staying here because it was very convenient for the buses, which are frequent. There were no problems with any appliances and we were comfortable. We will probably come and stay again next time we are in Edinburgh. The owners were welcoming and I am sure would have offered assistance if it had been necessary. We opened the kitchen window rather than bedroom windows as it was quieter on that side of the building.

We have just returned from our trip to Scotland. We stayed at the flat for a week Sept 6-13. We found the flat as described, close to bus routes and the mall for groceries etc. The flat was clean and very comfortable and we didn't find it overly noisy with the road so close. The oven had been repaired (see previous review). Unfortunately, the clothes dryer didn’t work. A very obliging neighbour let us use her clothes line. The owner came to take a look but was unable to repair it before we left. Other than that small glitch, the flat was great. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh.

Could have been so much better

  • 3 of 5

We arrived on the 8th of July after a Long trip from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and because of bad weather, and flooded roads, we did not arrive till after lunch. We were met by the owner, and given a quick guide of what appeared to be very nice two bed room flat. This at the time of the world Cup Football, the plan was to do the Tourist type things during the day and watch the Football in the evenings. It was then things started to go a Little the other way, we found the oven did not work, and from its state it had not worked for a very Long time. We also had to buy a toilet brush. OK Little things like that can happen. but there is no excuse for the thick cobwebs behind all the Radiators. We were also not told that both bed rooms are on a busy main road into Edinburgh, the nights been hot it is nice to sleep with the Windows open. To top it all the Ariel for the TV brock two nights before the finale, lucky for us the chap next door could show us where is was, and I was able to fix it. I must say though if These things were put right I would recommend it, because it is truely Close to town, and like they say the buses run from just outside the flat-there is also very good parking for those living there. I think for six hundred Pounds a week we could expect to be able to cook a nice roast.
