Guestbook comments from the owner

Wonderful extremely well equipped comfortable homely house with fantastic sea views and sheltered 'suntrap' garden.

Ample living areas including cosy 'snug' ideal for those who need their own space.

No need to even leave this wonderful fishing village but if inclined then loads to do nearby.

Wonderful setting

  • 4 of 5

The cottage exceeded our expectations. THe sea views form the garden room, terraced room and upper bedroom were phenomenal. And the snug with the open fire was just what we needed as the colder nights drew in. Johnshaven is a great base. The local shop gives a great service and the working harbour a treat for the odd spot of fishing. Trips to Aberdeen, the mountains and Dunottar all within easy reach. Highly recommended.

Magical cottage by the sea

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our relaxing family break. Our boys loved the attic room with amazing views of the sea. The snug was great at night and the futon room and terace were perfect for morning coffee and all fresco tea. Food at the Anchor Inn was delicious and it was very family friendly. St Cyrus beach is stunning and very close by. We visited many of the Historic Scotland and National Trust properties near by. In addition Dunnotar Castle was well worth a visit as was Arbroath Abbey and Montrose basin. I could go on and on! We will definitely come back. Evans family.

Friendly village with dolphins outside your window

  • 5 of 5

This is a family holiday home, with everything that people like me like to find available for use on arrival. This makes for a relaxing holiday in which everybody has space and yet the opportunity to be together.

Lovely location right on the shore

  • 3 of 5

The location is lovely and just what we expected. Entry to the property is good with the security mechanism. However we didn't feel the detail and information as presented in the ring folder is either easy to follow or professional enough....written in pencil with alterations is a scribbled manner was difficult to follow. We just couldn't find the heating controller from the instructions, for example.

The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. Beds are comfortable too!!! Bathroom basic and the flooring was uninviting.

Did little cooking as the food at The Anchor is spectacular and comes highly recommended.

Dunnotter Castle is a great day out.

The open air salt water pool at Stonehaven is a must.

The Bay fish shop near the Pool is terrific.

Relaxing for everyone

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is stunning in a beautiful location, it could not be more perfectly located. The cottage was perfect for the children and had everything we needed for the weekend :). The village is small but with enough to do for a few days and all the locals are friendly. The surrounding area has plenty to do if you are spending more than a few days. Everyone left our weekend away feeling relaxed and refreshed. We would all recommend this little peace of heaven, especially the kids.
