Tideswell village location with good local facilities and countryside walks
Sitting room adjacent to well equipped kitchen which led to outdoor alleyway washer/drier outhouse but no garden. Upstairs bathroom. Comfortable beds. Double bed against wall in main bedroom, twin beds in second bedroom over the rear kitchen. Quiet "back" road off the main road through the village with on-street parking. Footpaths to country lanes nearby and cycle trail down in the valley. Village in 2022 has Co-op, bakers, bookshop, butcher, pubs, chip shops, cafe' and various places of worship. Towns of Bakewell and Buxton not far away.

Wonderful Stay
What a beautiful location. The cottage was so so cosy and perfect for our puppy, with a yard and a lovely fire for him to relax in. Great facilities - washing machine, dryer, TV, bath etc. It was very quiet and access to brilliant roads. We got snowed in but the little shops were still open so that was fab. Bed very comfy and the sofabed in the living room was perfect for lounging out and watching TV. We loved it. Would definitely recommend. Jenny, Dave and Bowie xx

Why they chose this property

Nowhere else in the UK will you find a wide variety of stunning scenery, beautiful places to visit, a wealth of things to see and do and quality places to eat and drink in such a compact area.

Nestling right in the heart of the Peak District, Tideswell is easy to reach and is an ideal location to enjoy a short break or longer stay at any time of the year. Nearby you can visit the famous caverns at Castleton, watch Otters at the Chestnut Centre Conservation Park or visit Freshfields Donkey Village at Peak Forest.

Enjoy a trip to Matlock Bath - featuring the Peak District Mining Museum and the Heights of Abraham, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Derwent Valley from the heights of a cable car. There are also many historic houses and castles including Chatsworth House.

What makes this property unique

Tideswell is a perfect location for enjoying both the 'White' peak and 'Dark' peak areas of the Peak District National Park. The village offers everything you need for either a short stay or long holiday and the locals are very friendly and willing to help.

Guests can easily spend their whole stay on superb local walks and activities, (fishing, cycling, rock climbing) that start from the door of the cottage or use the car to travel a short distance to visit the market towns of Ashbourne, Buxton & Bakewell. Or explore one of the many picturesque villages, such as the famous 'Plague' village of Eyam, Ashford in the Water with its ancient sheepwash bridge or Dovedale and the famous stepping stones.

Short Breaks available between November to March.
Free WIFI available.
