About the Owner

We bought this beautiful cottage 4 years ago as a base to visit family. We decided to rent it out in between our visits, and we hardly ever get to use it anymore, as we have so many visitors! We have had many leisurely BBQs in the good sized very private back garden. It's our chill out from our very busy lives in London.

The Cottage is less than two minutes walk from all the attractions in the centre of town, which makes it a perfect location for dining and visiting the Shakespeare Theatre ...Sue and Mark Connor.

This cottage is in an excellent position for everything. It's very clean and has loads of utensils. We wanted for nothing, we had the best stay ever.... Mr & Mrs James.... Yorkshire.

We wanted for nothing in this really well equipped cottage, it was like home from home, everything on hand. It is central and when we parked our car, we didnt need to use it again for our stay. Great helpful owners, who did everything to make our stay wonderful...Agnes & John Snuppen .. WA.

This cottage is by far the best place we have stayed in around the Stratfird area. As theatre people we have stayed I a lot.

I'm baffled by the comments of the person who arrived to it not being cleaned. This I'm sure was a genuine mistake and the cottage was spotless and not at all dated either. It was very modern with every utensil you would need. They even supply a travel cot. I would not hesitate in staying there again and in fact have already made a Christmas reservation. I sometimes wonder what goes through people's minds when writing a review. I'm pretty sure the unclean arrival was due to a genuine mistake. Who would allow a visitor to arrive to a dirty cottage? And offer dirty used linen and towels?? I would definetely recommend this cottage. It is in a perfect spot, was immaculate and the owner was more than helpful.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your comment. These are the type of comments I have been getting for all the years I have rented our cottage. It was a mistake or lack of communication. It happens occasionally. But as I said in previous replies it was rectified in half an hour.

Location is everything.

We booked this lovely little cottage for a long weekend to meet with our extended family for a family reunion. We arrived late after a nightmare seven hour journey just wishing to have a bath and go to bed, only to find that the cottage hadn't been cleaned after the previous occupier (dirty towels in the bath, dirty linen and unmade beds, bins full, washing up left on the drainer etc)The owner was away but had left contact details of her cleaner in case of any problems. Karen, the cleaner, was extremely apologetic stating that she had been told there was no-one else staying at the cottage until next week. Despite the late hour, she came round and cleaned the place at 9 pm......brilliant service from her but we did feel obliged to go out and beg a shower from family staying at a local hotel when all we wanted to do was chill!

Following e-mails to the owner complaining, she took the high ground stating that mistakes are sometimes made and that she had rectified the situation straight away.....she did nothing of the sort, WE spoke to the cleaner who off her own back sorted things out. When I suggested an offer of compensation of some description, the owner sent the cleaner round with some chocolates and a bottle of wine, gratefully received but not what I had in mind.

The cottage itself, once cleaned? Perfect location, 30 seconds walk from the town. Very c;can and functional but needs a bit of an upgrade. Flooring in the kitchen is loose, bits of skirting board missing and generally, the cottage needs a lick of paint and a refresh. Otherwise, very very nice and at a good price.

Owner's Response: I'm quite upset at the in fairness of this review. It goes to show you should always read both sides of the story to get a fair opinion. If you look at my reviews over the past ten years you will see an impeccable record. Would I actually leave my cottage dirty from previous cleaners on purpose ??? Seriously ???? Does that in itself show that a genuine mistake was made ???? Actually my cleaner did this off her own back because I was 3000 miles away and it would have been impossible for me to rectify this. Once I was informed I arranged for my cleaner to be at the property in an hour. This is a very unfair, unjust review that shouldn't be taken too seriously. I of course sent chocolates and some wine as a good will gesture. This visitor was adamant they wanted to scrape some rental money back. They were not interested in anything less. I felt I acted accordingly and the cottage was cleaned immaculately in under an hour. To say it needs updating was just a nasty comment as its perfectly modern if anyone looks at the pictures. I have filled the cottage with everything I would wish for in my own home. So I think this is just the work of an opportunist visitor which everyone gets from time to time. I really didn't feel because of a genuine mistake which took under an hour to rectify I should've giving money back.

Central and sweet

A lovely little house right in the heart of Stratford Upon Avon. It had everything we needed and was comfy. The owner was super helpful and quick to respond. We loved our stay - what a lovely city! We would recommend this property to couples or small families - our 2 year old was a big fan of the gravel in the garden!

Western NY

Our Idyllic Spot

We discovered this gem in June this year, returned in July and are looking forward to our August/ September visit. Many of our friends will be joining us next year. What more can I say.

There is one inside flight of stairs to reach the rooms. Other than that you are in easy walking distance of the park, the shops, the restaurants and the 3 theaters which are all on the same level-- no hills. As I have trouble walking this is important to me.

The owners are charming and helpful. Their accommodation is delightful with many thoughtful little touches.

We love the Town of Stratford and the surrounding towns of Warwick, and the beautiful Cotswolds. It is very central for Birmingham. We always try to visit these wonderful places when we go to Falcon Cottage. You will have a very relaxing but convenient and central break at falcon Cottage. It's our home from home relaxation haven.

Birmingham international airport is approximately 1 hour drive away.


17 miles to the Cotswolds, 35 miles to Birmingham City centre, 27 miles to Birmingham international airport. 11 miles to Warwick Castle.

Further Details:

There is a leisure centre in Stratford on Avon town centre. It is also easy distances from the attractions of Warwick Castle, the Cadbury chocolate factory, and Birmingham NEC and city. It is also close to the Cotswolds. Excellent access to all amenities around the town EG, river, walks, town centre, restaurants, cinema, parks and the theatre.
