The apartment is ideally located as a base for many adventures including trips to Marbella, Benhavis, Gibraltar, Ronda and even the Alhambra palace in Granada. Alternatively enjoy the local marina of Duquesa with it's varied restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and age groups. The nearest beach is a 3 minute walk and is home to a number of Chiringuitos serving refreshing drinks and great food throughout the day and into the night. So whether you are an explorer or a sun worshipper you will be able achieve your holiday using our apartment for your accommodation.

About John Bowe

My wife and our two daughters live in Berkshire. We also like to spend as much time as possible in our apartment is Spain. We have used it for a relaxing pool holiday as well as a base for visiting some of the wonderful sights and attractions in the Southern part of Spain.

We are extremely happy with our apartment and get real pleasure when others use it and have as much fun as we do.

Our two daughters never want to come home when we are out there and count the days until we return.

Why John Bowe chose Manilva

We liked this location as it is in the middle of so many great things from beaches to golf courses, Gibraltar and the wonderful Marina at Duquesa. There is a fantastic beach within walking distance and we have fallen in love with the local Chiringuito.

What makes this apartment unique

The complex is secure and clean and the apartment is on the ground floor so provides that extra piece of mind. The pool is easily accessed from the apartment with sun loungers and a palapas are supplied for your convenience.

The apartment has a very large terrace area and is great for eating outside in the evenings.

Location

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is a 4 minute walk from the apartment, The beach is well maintained and is very clean. There are a number of Chiringuitos on the beach offering that mandatory cooling drink during the day and some quite spectacular fresh fish dishes in the evening. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

There are other beaches in Duquesa and Sabinillas which are less than a 5 minute drive away.

Travel:

Malaga airport is 55 minutes away.

Gibraltar airport is 20 minutes away.

Distances:

Duquesa marina is the nearest area of concentrated bars and restaurants and is a two minute drive away. Sabinillas is the nearest town with banks, pharmacies etc and is a 3 minute drive away.

Further Details:

Marina Duquesa has just about every kind of restaurant you can think of including Chinese, Indian, Italian, Thai, Mexican, Spanish and English. If you are looking for something really special there is a quite spectacular restaurant in the nearby resort on Benhavis. This restaurant was voted in the top 10 of Andalucian restaurants and has a number of themed bedrooms should you wish to stay over.

A quick trip along the coast takes you to Gibraltar where you can visit the caves and museum whilst observing the daring nature of the indigenous Macaque apes. There are a number of activities here including dolphin tours and some fantastic duty free shopping.

Marbella is a 20 minute drive away but is well worth a trip. There are some fantastic restaurants and shops and Puerto Banus is the playground of the rich and famous so keep a look out for some celebs.

Granada is a 3 hour trip but is well worth it to see the Alhambra Palace. Take a trip to the Alhambra Palace Hotel and have a drink of the terrace with it's spectacular views from its dominant position in the Sierra range.

Notes on accommodation: Welcome packs are available on request. Outside: The apartment is located on the ground floor providing a secure and safe environment for all. This is a gated community and keys are required to gain entry to the complex. There are two swimming pools set in a secluded area and fully lawned and landscaped. The main pool is a good size and there is a children's pool as well. There are showers and toilet facilities at the pool area. The complex is well maintained and has eye catching landscaping and views across the countryside and Mediterranean sea. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment will be cleaned prior to your arrival. Clean linen and towels will also be provided. Check in is at 4pm Check Out by 12pm Other: A large terrace with table and chairs for four.

We realy enjoyed our holiday at Alboran Hills, only problem we didn't book for a longer stay.

The property suited our needs perfectly we are a retired couple, parking was 100% as we had the close by road parking, and the option of underground parking. A convenient lift to the apartment which meant a lot to us. The apartment was clean and compact and had what was needed,the pool was also very convenient 1/2 a minute from the front door. All and all 10 out of 10 for location, We had family staying close by, my son and his family, and my daughter and her family staying in the close by Duquesa apartments. Eating out was not a problem as there was the choice of the close vicinity of Sabinellis during the day or the port/marina of Duquesa at night. cooking at the apartment was also convenient as there was a local food hall at the roundabout about a kilometre before the apartment. With just eight days we were still able to include our days in Sotegrande, Gibralta, Porta Banus, San Pedro, Fingarola, Also very important was the weather itself as we continually moan the rest of the year about our own weather at home, so it was great to be part of what a care free life is really like. Disappointing

Appartment not in dequesa 35 min walk

Not near any amenities you need a car

No information on contact numbers etc

Deckchairs broken

No tv and air Acon extremley noisey

Nice pool area and good size for a family of 4

The advert should not show a picture I'd dequesa which is misleading

Clean but basic. Needs updating

The apartment was adequate but really basic. It was immaculately clean but little things were noticed that when added up meant the quality of the accommodation was lacking. Examples were chipped cups, old stains on the beds and bedding. The Windows either didn't open easily one bedroom window was wedged shut with a golf tee. Quite isolated, so a car is essential.

Very basic information in the apartment regarding the surrounding area. This apartment will need some input to ensure it reaches the new standards required from May 2016. The pool was a good size and clean but at weekend was overrun with what appeared to be local people and lots of their children. This combined with a dog that yapped from very early morning to late at night made being outside not a particularly restful experience.

Having stayed frequently in this area I could not recommend this apartment, there are many others that are in a better location and much better value for money.

Férias relaxantes e confortáveis

O apartamento estava localizado numa zona calma, limpo e bem equipado, e com espaço ótimo para 2 casais, ou casal com filhos, com um terraço fantástico, onde fizemos as refeições!!

Tinha piscina bem conservada e com água agradável. A praia ficava a poucos metros e também era ótima, apesar de não ser vigiada.

Recomendo este apartamento a quem quiser umas férias calmas e para descansar.

Se quiser sair à noite e gostar de confusão é movimento então é melhor procurar outro local.

Eu gostei, foram umas férias diferentes, mas relaxantes, como tínhamos carro, deu pra visitar alguns locais nas redondezas!

Quero também agradecer ao proprietário que foi muito prestável e esclarecer em todas as nossas dúvidas!

**Important** As part of the new laws governing rentals in Andalucia a property must now be registered with the local authorities. Copies of passports of all guests must also be registered with the Garda Civil before your stay. I am in the process of getting our property registered and looking how to register passport details.
