About the Owner

Our family has been visiting the beautiful North Norfolk area for over 25 years and we've recommended it to so many people in the past so we're now really pleased to be able to provide holidays in this special place. We've taken a lot of trouble to look after the details of your accommodation to make it as welcoming and well equipped as possible. We also pride ourselves in going the extra mile to make it particularly stress free for families with young children.

We find all the lovely feedback that we receive from our guests to be so satisfying and rewarding (you can read dozens of testimonials from our guests on our own website). Please enjoy finding out more about Kelling Haven and give us a call if you have any questions. Our own website has even more photographs and information. We hope to see you soon...

Thank you, the caravan is very comfortable, spacious and cosy in a super peaceful location. High quality accommodation, good onsite facilities and fairly priced. We really liked the easy access to the North Norfolk coast and many interesting local towns and attractions. The highlight was the variety of birds and the deer so close to the van!

We call Kelling haven our second home as we have now stayed here 4 times! The mobile home is in such a secluded spot you can't see anyone else as it is surrounded by woodland. It has everything you need and with an enclosed garden for sitting in the sun. Cosy, well equipped and spacious with a very handy porch area. Wildlife literally comes to you we have had slow worms/ sparrow hawks/ deer/ bull finches visit over the years. Kelling Heath is so special with lots of walks and cycle rides(my son learnt to ride his bike here) and not forgetting the steam train station! The pool is luxury and the activities on offer during the school holidays will mean you don't have to leave if you don't want to. We have made decoupage/pottery painting and the wildlife walks lead by the amazing naturalists are not to be missed with Bats and Nightjars and the clearest night skies. I am going to book another holiday now!!

Loved it!

Kelling Haven ticks all the boxes. Great location at Kelling Heath, plenty of space, an enclosed garden, very well equipped and clean. It is a place where you can have peace when you want peace or be busy out and about at Kelling Heath or North Norfolk.

Having 2 bathrooms is a bonus, one with a mini bath which was great for cleaning our 2 grandsons after a trip to the beach. The enclosed garden saw many games of boules and other games played.

We did trips to Weybourne, the Wizard Maze at Metton, West Runton, Cromer & Blickling, and do check out the alpaca trekking at Wells it was a real highlight. The boys also really enjoyed the football sessions run at Kelling Heath.

We have stayed in lodges at KH for the previous 2 years but enjoyed Kelling Haven more. We will be back I am sure

Location

From the Owner

Kelling Haven is the perfect combination of accommodation, location, facilities and price. For significantly less than the cost of a cottage, we offer excellent accommodation combined with all the benefits and facilities that being on the fantastic Kelling Heath Holiday Park offers. Kelling is perfect for family holidays or a relaxing break for two as our regular guests can confirm. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the area it has everything you need to create the BEST of childhood seaside holidays, made especially easy by our family friendly accommodation. Whether you're looking: for beautiful beaches such as Holkham & West Runton; iconic seaside towns like Sheringham; fun activities like netting crabs & taking a boat trip to the seal colony, a visit to the zoo or many adventure parks: this is the perfect base for your holiday. There are stunning towns, villages and beaches to dip into from the coast road and the area is a food lovers paradise with many independent seafood outlets, deli's and cafe's along the way. Couples looking for a relaxing break can enjoy a jacuzzi, steam & sauna, lovely local villages with deli's, pubs, restaurants, and galleries and a wide range of wildlife, RSPB and heritage sites. At the end of a perfect day why not relax with a drink on the sun deck or in the lovely private garden. Its worth mentioning that none of the mobile homes or lodges that the Park hires out have an enclosed garden, (a must have with young children) and the icing on the cake is that we're also better priced. What's more the garden is lovely and private (you can't see another mobile home from ours) and is not over shadowed by trees. When our guests are on site they have the chance to look around the Park and check out the alternatives and we're pleased to be able to say that they come back to us :-)

The coast and its beaches:

There are 43 miles of coastline around North Norfolk, most of which are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty a drive along the coast road is a stunning start to your holiday. From there you can choose which beautiful town, village or beach to stop off at.

Here's just a few:

Sheringham (4m) is an unspoilt sea side town, a lovely bucket, spade beach, lots of great shops and perfect fish and chips!

Holkham (16m) has a beautiful huge beach, with pine forests and sand dunes leading down to vast open sands. It's renowned for being one of England's best beaches. While you're their you can visit the historic Holkham Hall and grounds, have tea and cake in the courtyard, hire bikes and cycle for miles, or let the children have a great time on the new (FREE) tree top adventure playground.

Weybourne (2m) is the closest beach, with waves crashing and tinkling over the steep shelf of pebbles it's the perfect beach for catching your supper on. You can also join the beautiful coastal path here for a cliff top walk to Sheringham and beyond.

The pretty village of Blakeney (7m) is a great destination to dangle your legs of the quayside while you drop a line for crabs, or catch a boat out to see the nearby seal colony.

In addition to the coastal areas mentioned above a few more include: West Runton, our personal favourite, it has lovely wide stretches of sandy beach nestled at the base of yellow cliffs and perfect coral rock pools for children. Stiffkey is a great play beach with mud banks to slide down and Cromer has a lovely re-furbished pier dating from 1901 and the only surviving 'end of the pier show 'in the UK.

The entire coast road is dotted with picturesque villages, lovely pubs and independent sellers of locally sourced seafood (such as Crab and Samphire - 'the asparagus of the sea'). Visit the smoke house and Picnic Fayre deli' at Cley-Next-Sea, Cookies seafood shack (where you can take your own wine). Not to mention farmers markets and more fabulous gastro pubs and eateries than we can mention. This area is a food lovers paradise!

On site:

Repeatedly voted Best UK Holiday Park, Kelling Heath has all that you could want. Within a 10 minute walk along the lovely tree lined tracks of the Park you'll find an excellent shop, 2 bars (with dining), 1 restaurant, a first class leisure centre with two pools, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, cycle hire & much more...The Park is 250 acres of lovely woodland with wildlife ponds, two children's parks and even a stop for the Poppy Line Steam railway. The square is also a lovely venue for live music and local producers markets, boules, table tennis and just enjoying a relaxing drink and planning the next day of your holiday. Kelly Heath is also a great place to just enjoy peace, quiet and wildlife.

Nearby:

Holt (4m): is a beautiful Georgian town, fab deli's, shops & galleries.

Pensthorpe Nature Reserve (15m) not only has wildlife galore but really fabulous new children's play facilities (indoor and out).

Amazona Zoo at Cromer (8m) is a lovely day out.

For families with young children, Bewilderwood is an amazing tree top themed children's 'theme park' based around stories of delightful swamp dwelling folk, its a real must visit. Also Wells-Next-The-Sea has an annual Pirate Festival me hearties.

For families with older children, there's also the Hilltop Outdoor Adventure Centre at Sheringham offering 'Adventure Days' including climbing, zip wires, high ropes and assault courses. Nearby Cromer has a surf school which operates all year round and a cinema.

Clay marshes is home to the Norfolk Wildlife Trusts most popular nature reserve and there's so much in this area for avid birdwatchers to see.

History lovers are well catered for with Holkham, Blickling, Felbrigg, Houghton, and Oxburgh Halls and of course the Sandringham Estate.

Take a walk on the wild side with the North Norfolk Safari company.

Explore the beautiful Norfolk Broads with day boat hire.

For cultural activity: Holt has several excellent galleries; dipping off the coast road will lead you to dozens of local artisans; there's an annual Open Studios event; and Sheringham has an annual Arts Festival, the 'Potty' Folk Festival. The National Trusts' Blickling and Felbrigg Halls host everthing from Jazz and proms to children's festivals. There's also an annual classical music festival. Norwich, Kins Lynn and Burnham Market all have literary festivals and not 2 miles away Sheringham Park hosts open air theatre in the summer.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Kelling Haven is furnished and equipped to a high standard. It is very spacious for a mobile home with a central living and dining area offering lovely views and a relaxing atmosphere. Very few mobile homes or lodges have the benefit of fully enclosed gardens and a conservatory room and this makes a tremendous difference to the available space for adults to relax and socialise (and for children to play). If you are holidaying with a young family we have a selection of children's equipment provided FOC on request, if you're not the accommodation will be set out specifically for you with no children's equipment visible at all. We pride ourselves on making Kelling Haven perfect for couples or families and we're delighted to welcome so many returning guests each year. Technology junkies note: wi-fi is available in the bars and leisure area, mobile reception in this part of Norfolk is patchy. Outside: Kelling Haven is situated on an attractive, large, sunny and private plot. The fully enclosed garden is approx' 55x20 feet of lawn, perfect for relaxing or playing in. All you will see is sky, birds and trees. Additionally the gated sun deck is the ideal place for a peaceful drink or for little ones who may be too young for the garden. However if the weather is being 'British' the conservatory room is a very relaxing furnished space in which to enjoy the views. Within the 250 acres of this woodland park there are wildlife ponds, trim trails, cycle routes (& cycle hire), play parks, an adventure challenge course, tennis courts, table tennis, boules, & a stop on the romantic Poppy Line steam train service. Not forgetting indoor and outdoor pools, stunning views of the sea, local windmill, heathland & wildlife trails (wildlife conservation is very important here). A calendar of activities such as archery, wildlife walks and children's outdoor pursuits is provided by Kelling Heath. Towels / Linen /Housekeeping: We pride ourselves on exceptional house keeping standards. On arrival the beds will be made up with fresh linen, soft duvets & anti-allergy pillows. Kitchen linen is also provided. Guests are asked to bring towels (and travel cot bedding if needed). Other: The Conservatory room has a second dining table, bench and two chairs. A great space to enjoy breakfast whilst watching Blue Jays and Muntjack deer on the edge of the garden.
