Located close to the fishing village of Fornells, ideally suited to holiday for relaxing, swimming, eating, walking and generally soaking up the local atmosphere. Menorca, the least discovered of the Balearic Islands, is the one that has best kept its charm. Free from the crowds and large scale town planning the island has a peaceful lifestyle and many attractions. It has not been spoilt by massive development and is a conservation area for the EEU.There are many totaally undeveloped beaches and coves area from our village is completely undeveloped for about 10 miles. There is a 17 century track round the coast which s well marked which is perfect for walkers and bird watchers and for people who want to find a small cove to themselves.

You can walk along a footpath during the day to the delightful small port of Fornells. The port has many restaurants and bars looking over the sea and well known for its fish restaurants.

Small boats, Kayaks and bikes are available to hire and you can sail in the big inland waters behind the port

You can swim and snorkel from the gardens off the rocks and there is access from the garden by natural steps into the sea or take your barbecue down to the edge of the garden and enjoy an alfresco meal by the sea shore.

Beautiful apartment as described in advertisement. Quiet location, fantastic views

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was as described in the owners direct advert, clean, tidy and well equipped. The area was quiet and well kept with beautiful gardens. The owner had provided details of the surrounding area and places to eat and was more than happy to help via the telephone before the holiday began. There was a lot of literature in the flat to help decide where to go what to see, where to eat etc.. All was extremely helpful. Chris and Liam were on hand should we need them and although we met up there was no need for their services as all was well. Menorca is a beautiful island and this is a perfect base to stay.

A fantastic base for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect base for our 2-week family holiday. We loved snorkelling from the garden - it was the best place we found on the island. There is also a shipwreck which is easy to snorkel to just around the corner. We also spent lots of time sitting on the balcony watching the sunset, or the sea, or the boats passing up and down.

Playas de Fornells is a great place: just big enough to have everything you need but not too noisy. The apartment is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Chris and Liam look after the apartment very well.

Great Base for our holiday

  • 5 of 5

Lovely apartment, well equipped, an ideal base for our hobby of birdwatching.

The views are spectacular. Local restaurants are first class and were frequently used. Liam and Chris (who look after the property) were most helpful, both before arriving and during our visit.

We did a lot of touring and saw a lot of the island, we are sure to return in the future, and will hope to use this apartment again.

Owner's Response: DEar Stephen, I am so pleased that you wenjoyed your holiday in Menorca and enjoyed staying in our holiday home. The position Is. Great and the island is perfect if you enjoy bird watching . On the opposite side of the bay opposite our island is the nesting area for some rare birds .. We could see them flying from our .terrace. It is an island where lots of migrating birds stop and we have seen flamingos on one occasion! It is an island that has so mucj beautiful countryside and i was there in April walking on the old horse track round the coast. It is an island covered in footpaths and with the horse track open round the icoast i is the perfect place for walking. It is also great for the people who want to find a small secluded cove to themselves to swim and snorkell in the summer. Only 2 hours from London so easy to get there it is a very unique place. Best wIshes we look forward to seeing you again! Rheema French

Idyllic frontline sea view and fabulous sunsets

  • 4 of 5

Rheema's apartment is very well furnished with all the comforts you'd expect for an enjoyable holiday home from home. Comfortable beds, a lovely bathroom and well appointed kitchen/lounge area. But, there's more, as the very best thing about this great apartment is the fantastic balcony and it's front line westerly views across the sea. The photos do look great, but we know that you really have to be there to experience the beauty of the apartment and its fabulous sea view to fully appreciate how wonderful it really is. We enjoyed two lovely, relaxing weeks in September and this apartment and location really is an excellent base to enjoy a magnificent holiday. We love Playas de Fornells, the surroundings are immaculately kept, the food in the local restaurants enjoyable, the landscape magnificent and we very much look forward to returning again soon. Roll on next Summer ! Jane and Paul.

fantastic location. Quiet peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location with the sea almost in your living room. The sounds of the waves providing a meditative backdrop to our holiday. The apartment provides the ideal arrangement for our small families needs. The two balconies providing yoga spaces for practise next to the sea.

The property was clean uncluttered with a constant flow of air when it was very hot. The kitchen was functional and the bathroom provides a great uninterrupted view for a sunset shower. Pretty gardens are beautifully maintained and give the place a tropical feel.

The friendly and affable Liam and Chris, ( property managers) are well informed and very good company.

We come to Menorca for pristine beaches. Many of which are easily accessible from the apartment. We would highly recommend this apartment and location to our friends and will return for the third time next year

Owner's Response: Dear Natalie, Thank you for writing your review of my property. I am so pleased that you have enjoyed your holidays there. Yes,it is very peaceful and relaxing yet the port of Fornells is easy to get to and there is a good choice of restaurants and as we are half way along the north coast it is easy to access the whole of the island. I like to snorkell from the gardens and having so many pristine beautiful beaches easily accessable from the flat is a bonus. Now also the 17century track round the coast is opened and well maintained and sign posted during the earlier part of the year and October & November it is great for walkers and it is possible to find tiny bays which in the summer you can have to yourself. They were extremely hard to find before the track was opened up. Thank you for booking your 3 weeks in August, Best Wishes Rheema French

Our best ever holiday in the Med!

  • 5 of 5

As a family of four it takes a lot to tick everyones boxes for a perfect holiday. We have holidayed all over the med for many years and always felt that it was always 'ok' but never 'totally fantastic'. So why was this one different? First of all Minorca is quiet! It really is a different pace of life. The roads are quieter, the towns are quieter. Things are slower. A bit disconcerting at first but when you realise that you are not going to 'entertained' you soon get into the mode of going out and finding your own real life adventures. The island is a UNESCO Biosphere and the everywhere we went it was fastidiously clean and well maintained. Both on land we saw lots of bird life including Booted Eagle and Egyptian Vultures. Underwater the sea-life was abundant with a far wide range of species than I have seen anywhere else in the med. We even spotted a strange local crayfish. Fantastic visibility and safe diving which meant we spent hours in the water, which was lovely and warm. We even had a wreck to dive on, in total safety, about 300 yards from the apartment. I need to mention that Liam, the apartment overseer, was hugely helpful in getting us started, answering all our questions and even taking us on a short tour of the local area and it's facilities, so that we didn't have to spend days finding all these spots, but got straight in to it from day one. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained and we loved the setting, right on the rocks where we had the waves lapping on the shore all night long. We even really enjoyed the lay-out of the complex and its architecture. It must have inspired the Dr Zeus books. We ate out every night and found that all the local restuarants served great local food. Thank you strong Pound£. Finally to say that you will find every sort of outdoor activity possible on the island but we discovered one on our doorstep in Fornells which should not be missed. We hired a 'Rib' boat for half a day (115 Euro) and headed out across the bay to discover coves and caves to dive in. We have'nt seen such huge grins on our 2 teenagers faces ( 16 and 17) for a long time as we zoomed back with them trying to ride the swells. It was good healthy fun which means we will definitely be going back for more.

Owner's Response: Dear Gordon, Thank you for writing your review of your holiday in Poblet 1, Playas de Fornells I agree with you that Menorca is amazingly relaxing and probably the most unspoiled island in the Mediterranean. It was the last place in Spain to fight against Franco, and the battle was in the bay, beside the village. When I started to learn SpanishI talked to some of the elderly Menorceans and they told ne that families were large and as achild they often were hungry He gave them no money for the infrastructure after tthey were defeated and the people were very poor, Consequently the island did not suffer from being covered in a concrete jungle like parts of South Majorca and the coast of Southern Spain. Now it is fortunate that it is a conservation area of the EEC. I love snorkelling in the bay and the wreck is fun to explore. I try to go every morning early to the nearby beaches and snorkell in the lovely bays and I often have a beach to myself! The area around Fornells is so out of this world, in the sand dunes nearby you can find the pretty bee eaters flying overhead and the opposite side of the bay you have some very rare birds nesting. The country side and coast from Fornells almost to Cuidadela is totally unspoiled, many beautiful beaches and some tiny hidden bays you can find and have to yourselves if you search for them! The island is a lovely place to spend your holidays and the people are friendly and extremely honest and it is very safe. I have had the flat for over 33 years and love going back each year. Thank you again for taking the trouble to write your . Best Regards Rheema
