About the property

W353

Maesgwynne Mansion Cottages have been sympathetically converted from traditional stone outbuildings set around a quadrangle adjacent to the site of a former eighteenth century mansion. The historic Maesgwynne estate is located in the far west of rural Carmarthenshire, almost on the border with Pembrokeshire. Today there are over 40 acres of gardens, woodlands and a peaceful fishing lake within the grounds for the enjoyment of our guests. Fully equipped, they provide a place in summer or winter for those who wish to get away from it all. The grounds are ideal for four legged friends. For the more adventurous the coast is within easy reach (about half an hour by car) with boat trips or the Pembrokeshire coastal path to explore. One can even take a trip over to Ireland with ferry ports less than an hour away.

About Rob Churchill

The original property comprised an old georgian mansion (now demolished) and numerous outbuildings in a derelict state. Over the past 10 years we have gradually repaired and converted several of the buildings, restored the trout lake and improved the garden and grounds. We live in one of the converted barns and look after seven cottages within the courtyard.

We are pleased to welcome guests and their pets to this beautiful area of Wales.

Rob Churchill purchased this barn in 1980

Why Rob Churchill chose Pembrokeshire

We bought this property for its beauty, peace and tranquility. We love walking in our woodland and watching the changes throughout the year.

We appreciate the easy access to sandy beaches to the south and the rockier coastline around Cardigan to the north.

What makes this barn unique

Grounds of 45 acres to explore, fishing in the trout lake and use of the heated outdoor swimming pool (April to September).

Seasonal vegetables often available from the walled garden.

This property is centrally located to explore the whole of the West Wales peninsula. The secluded location is ideal for those who want to get away from it all and recharge their batteries.

Loved It

Stayed in cottage with 5 other family member (including 2 demanding teenagers). Stunning location and very peaceful.

Three bedrooms are a good size, and kitchen & bathroom are lovely.

Rob the owner is really friendly and helpfull, and all communications prior to our arrival and during are stay were really good.

Outside pool great for coming back to relax in, after being out all day. My teenage boys had to be dragged in a 9pm each night!

Definitely a great place to stay!

Thanks Rob
