Booked at short notice and what a surprise. The gite was wonderful and our hosts, Wendy and Alan, were extremely welcoming and helpful. The gite was adorned with pretty flowers, it has wonderful views and was very peaceful. Fresh eggs from their chickens was an added bonus. Thank you. Terry and Elaine.

What a little treasure we found in La Petitie Maison Blanche. Last minute booking and we were extremely lucky. Supermarket close by, lovely bread and cakes from the local village and the food .... well!! The gite had everything we needed. Location was perfect with wonderful days out, no more than 45 minutes to the coast and Wendy and Alan gave us plenty of information about places to see and visit. Thank you both so much once again and see you next year as we will definitely return. Mark and Sandra.

Perfect accommodation and location.

  • 5 of 5

This lovely little gite was spotlessly clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. Wendy and Alan were super-helpful but not intrusive. There was lots to do in the surrounding area and Wendy was very knowledgable about towns and markets etc to visit.

The weather was not great but that can't be helped and it didn't stop us from exploring the local area and having a great holiday. The tame chaffinch was a great delight.

La Petite Maison Blanche

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Petite Maison Blanche. The gite was as described - ideal for two, well-equipped and maintained. The owners (Wendy and Alan) were very helpful, giving advice and recommendations and an insight into being an ex-pat in France! The coast is 50-60 minutes' drive, but well worth it. We particularly liked Cancale, especially as the tide was out and we could see the oyster beds. St Malo also was very interesting, but our view was shadowed by the only rain we saw in two weeks. St Cast Guildo is a very pretty typical French seaside resort. We hired a boat with an outboard motor in the Port at Dinan and chugged up and down the River Rance and this was great fun. As for food - we ate out every day and enjoyed some delicious meals! The best value we encountered was at L'Oree du Parc (on the right just before entering Becherel). The menu at 10.90 was amazing value - 4 courses with wine and coffee included - the food was excellent and the terrace very pleasant. In Dinan town we liked Le 1 de la place (Duclos) - opposite the Hotel de Ville. It is away from the 'touristy' old town, but the food and service were excellent and good value. In the Port of Dinan we liked L'Ami Louis which is up a side street. We found several really lovely towns in the area, which were ideal to sit with a drink and watch the world go by - what we enjoy doing most at our age!! We really enjoyed exploring this part of France - the scenery is beautiful and the people friendly. Our thanks to Wendy and Alan for their kindness.

So relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with every aspect of our stay and Wendy and Alan proved to be the perfect hosts - knowledgeable about the local area and on hand to offer advice if we needed it. The gite was modern, clean and spacious with everything we could have wanted to make our stay comfortable, and the location was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet place to relax but close enough to the local towns for shopping and eating. We would highly recommend this as a holiday destination and plan to return again before too long.

This Gite is not to be missed! It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and well thought out in a lovely location convenient for all the touristy places.

The British owners are a great couple who are very helpful without being intrusive.

We will definitely be back again and would recommend it to anyone

looking for a relaxing holiday in this part of France.
