Holiday House with large garden, games 'field' and sea views

Updated: 12-Nov-2016
Tresawl, Epphaven, Between Polzeath / Port Isaac, North Cornwall, England, UK - Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk Down To The Beach

Our lovely holiday home has been in the family for over 40 years, and we have refurbished it to a high standard. Under-floor heating throughout, carpeted bedrooms, new bath and shower rooms, a separate annex with en-suite shower and parking for several cars. The huge windows at the front of the house all look over completely unspoilt coastline, including Pentire Glaze, the Rumps and The Mouls Island. The large patio is the perfect location for family barbeques, while the garden lends itself to games of all sorts including a huge area for football, basketball or practising golf. Well behaved pets - in the utility area - also welcome!

About the Owner

Susie is a teacher, Phil is a builder and property renovator. We have 3 sons, all of whom spent many happy summers on 'our' beach, rock jumping, cave exploring, sand castle building, crabbing and surfing. We live in the South East near Gatwick, but go down to Epphaven whenever we can!

Had a really really great time, chilled out went everywhere in the day. The house was lovely very welcoming and it suited our needs (12) in total, plenty of space and Lisa who owns this place was brilliant plus Chevi who looks after the house. I would recommend this house to everyone, so relaxing if you want it to be and the views are to die for

It was absolutely amazing, the bad weather could have ruined our weekend anywhere else but waking up to the outstanding view and the moo moos in the next field was beautiful! The house is absolutely gorgeous and beds were so comfy! Thankyou for our stay we will be back!!!

Great large family place and great location

  • 5 of 5

Great place for our New year break with family, weather wasn't great but still managed some fab coastal walks. bay window facing the sea was prime spot in the lounge and place was very clean and had great facilities, plenty of freezer and fridge space and drinks cooler. will definitely try and go back some day.

The most perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

Tresawl is the perfect place for a weekend getaway to Cornwall. The house has everything one could possibly need, the views over the ocean are spectacular, the proximity to the amazing hikes along the Coastal Path is unbeatable, and I can't say enough about the amazing time we had. We were a group of 10, but the house easily (and comfortably) could have accommodated 4-5 more. I highly recommend this amazing home!

Just returned from a great family holiday. We were a very mixed group age between 2 and 60 and we all had a great time. The garden was very safe for the children and with no neighbours they could make as much noise as they wanted.

There was plenty of room in the house so we didn't feel cramped at all.

A couple of weeks before we went the owner e mailed an information sheet to us that covered everything we could possibly have needed to know, very useful.

Would definitely recommend this accomodaion.

Views to die for ...

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic party weekend in Tresawl with 13 family members - the photos don't really do it justice.

The wetsuits and surfboards were much appreciated, and SKY Sports was a bonus for the Grand Prix.

We found the owners were very accommodating and will return.

From the Owner

Susie's mum originally bought the house in 1970. It always had the magnificent view, but the garden was so overgrown that you could not see out of the windows and there was no mains electricity. It is substantially different nowadays! We love the location as it is so unspoilt and yet close to all the buzz of Polzeath, Rock & Padstow.

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 20 Miles Nearest Barpub : Four Ways, St Minver at 2 Miles Nearest Ferry : Rock to Padstow at 4 Miles Nearest Golf : Roscarrow at 2 Miles Nearest Train : Bodmin Parkway at 16 Miles Nearest Motorway : M5 (Exeter) at 80 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Lots in Polzeath, Port Isaac & Rock at 4 Miles Nearest Beach : Epphaven (low tide) at 650 Metres

Epphaven, 10-15 minute walk down a track, path and then rocks down to the beach. Port Quin (1 mile) has a Kayak centre, and Port Isaac (4 miles) has a pretty harbour and great pubs. Polzeath, excellent surfing, is a 5 minute drive. Daymer Bay, particularly good for younger families and those with dogs, is 10 minutes by car. Rock is also 10 minutes away, for sailing, waterskiing, banana boating and also for ferry access to Padstow. Many beaches to choose from, all within 10-15 minutes drive.

4 miles to Rock, 2 miles to Polzeath, 6 miles to Port Isaac. Historic Tintagel, the home of King Arthur, is a 20 minute drive and the Eden Project about 40 minutes. The lovely fishing port of Padstow - easily accessible by ferry over the Camel Estuary - has the famous Rick Stein restaurant and bistro, and now also boasts good shops and several small galleries.

Further Details:

Local shops are available at Polzeath and Tredrizzick and there is a large supermarket in Wadebridge, as well as banks, chemists and all essential high street shops.

Cycling along the Camel Trail between Padstow and Wadebridge is also a family favourite.

A new Kayaking and Coasteering centre has opened in Port Quin, 1 mile down the road from Tresawl, fun for all ages. (We hire a few kayaks and then paddle round to join the rest of the family on Epphaven, so everyone can have a go!)

The view is simply one of the best you will find anywhere in the world! Although close to 'trendy' Rock and Polzeath, Tresawl is in a most peaceful and tranquil location.
