Apartment built in 2008 in high quality Swiss chalet style. 50sqm double height reception room with TV/computer area, sitting room and dining area. Large fully equipped kitchen. 55sqm of balconies on 4 sides. Chalet is in a small village with no through traffic and limited car access on an isthmus jutting out into Lake Brienz just 10 min from Interlaken. The Eiger, Jungfrau, Schlithorn mountains are 30 min. away. The famous Jungfrau paddle steamer and other boats dock at village pier frequently in summer. Lake swimming is available at the village 'strandbad' and at the wellness swimming pool. There is a golf course in Interlaken. In winter the village has little snow so easy access but Grindlewald, Murren, Wengen, are 30 min., Meiringen 20 min and Adelboden 40 min. by car and train. There are many small ski areas for beginners nearby. A postbus service connects with all trains from Interlaken Ost. Iseltwald is a secret little paradise, friendly and a great holiday spot for all ages.

About the Owner
The apartment was purchased by my brother and I in 2008 for our extended family. We have space to accommodate our children, spouses and grandchildren together. They have since nicknamed 'Iseltwald', as 'Easyworld' to reflect it's comfort and ease of living. I am sure you will love it too!

Perfect house in a perfect location!
This was the second time we have rented this house and our stay was just as wonderful as the first time. The location is great...close to Interlaken, but in a quiet hamlet. The house is large and well equipped with incredible views of the lake and mountains. We were a party of 7 (ages 13 - 65) and the house accommodated all of our needs. We are planning to return again!
A very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped apartment in an exquisite setting - we could not have wished for more! The owner's local knowledge and directions were invaluable and we were never short of something to do. As we were without a car, we relied on the excellent Postbus service to Interlaken and onward connections, which meant we could relax and enjoy the scenery.
Swimming in the lake proved to be a rare treat and although bracing, was an unmissable opportunity!
This apartment is indeed a home from home and we cannot recommend it highly enough!
A well equipped and comfortable chalet which was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Cooking facilities were great, and it was useful to have access to previous guests' (and owner's) store cupboard provisions. It was more than large enough for us with our five children, with plenty of different zones for each to escape to. The village playground was much appreciated by the children, which they (aged 6-12) could visit safely on their own so the lack of "private" outside space was not an issue. A great base from which to explore the mountains (we took the train up from Zweilutschinen most days) and a peaceful place to come back to for an evening swim and supper at the end of a day's walking and stream damming. The caretaker, Elspeth (friendly & efficient) also sold us some excellent lake fish, freshly caught by her husband and professionally stored and packed. We would definitely come back!
Phenomenal chalet and location!
We chose this chalet to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The owner, Michael, was very responsive to all of my questions and the chalet was simply fantastic, as advertised! There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 1 child to sleep comfortably. Furniture, kitchen appliances, etc. were all top notch and the setting was absolutely beautiful - a wonderful view of Lake Brienz from the balcony and only a few minutes drive to Interlaken. Iseltwald itself was a very quaint, friendly town and served as a great home base to explore the surrounding area. I can't say enough good things about the chalet or Michael - we hope to return to Iseltwald someday!
A group of 8 of us hired the villa for 10 days and the photos on the website do not do justice to the villa itself. There was plenty of room for all of us and room for us to be apart from the others if we wanted.
The property was both clean and well maintained. Nothing was too much trouble for neither the owner nor the manager. As we were driving from Spain the directions etc. for finding the villa were very clear. If we didn't want to drive to Interlaken, the bus service was efficient and on time and it was only a few minutes walk to the bus stop.
The only small criticism for me was that the bedroom at the top with single beds had no wardrobe and only a couple of coat hangers so it was fortunate that I had taken some with me.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

“Iseltwald is a little gem of a village with 400 inhabitants, it has a school, a village shop and 3 good hotels. Although essentially a summer holiday destination its position in the centre of all the Bernese Oberland ski resorts makes it a ideal winter location too. Ski a different resort every day of the week and don't be bored by the same pistes daily! The access is very easy in all weathers and it is calm and quiet. Sunlight hours in mid winter are short but if the sun is shining the mountains are beckoning anyway. A visitor can even arrive by train at Interlaken Ost and take a boat to Iseltwald in the summer.”

A short walk to pristine lakeside bathing. Bracing but the water is too clean for big fish!
Iseltwald is 8 hours driving time from Calais via Troyes, Dijon, the Jura and Bern. Zurich and Basle airports are 2hrs, Geneva 2.5 hrs and Bern Belp 45 mins. away. There is a new London City-Bern Belp service on Skywork airline. A car is useful to save some time but not essential given the hourly Postbus service to Interlaken in 20/25 min.

There is a village shop 80m. from the apartment providing all the essentials.
Fish is available direct from local fishermen. Large Coop and Migros stores are in Interlaken. The village has 3 good restaurants. The lake boats pickup and drop-off passengers at the village pier. Boat hire available and lake swimming area.
A Tourist Card is payable by all visitors to Switzerland and provides various advantages and discounts, notably complementary Post Bus travel (the yellow ones) all around Interlaken and Iseltwald. The Caretaker will give you details for the advantages and payment and give you cards for each person in your group.
The caretaker prepares the apartment, beds made up, provides all towels, shows the apartment and cleans upon departure. This cost is NOT included in the rental cost payable to the owner. The caretaker should be given 500 Swiss Francs in CASH upon arrival for the key, 100 Swiss Francs will be refunded for the key upon departure.

Booking request by email to be confirmed by owner. Deposit for confirmed booking 300 Swiss Francs which is non refundable. Balance is due 8 weeks before arrival date, 50% refundable up to 2 weeks before arrival, non refundable thereafter.
Payment of the deposit can be made by PayPal, UK bank cheque or bank transfer.
It is preferred that the balance is paid by bank transfer in Swiss Francs.
Changeover day Saturday only. Arrival after 16 00 hrs. Departure before 11am. Some flexibility may be possible depending on other bookings.
Notes on prices:
The charge for all cleaning, bed linen and towels is 400 Swiss Francs paid directly to the caretaker in CASH upon arrival plus a 100 franc refundable key deposit.
Less than 7 nights rental within the Saturday to Saturday time period could be catered for for a small reduction in rent, however the cleaning/linen charge to the caretaker will remain unchanged at 400 Swiss Francs.
Deposit CHF300 to confirm reservation. Balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Cleaning charge due in cash upon arrival. The tourist card charge of 2.80 per adult per person per night will be added to the rent.

“When arriving at the apartment a car is not needed for any activity in the village whether swimming, shopping, taking a boat trip, visiting restaurants, hiring a boat or walking, picnicking or cycling around the lake. The village roads are for access only and there is no through traffic. There is a village playground, a swimming pool and wellness centre. On festive occasions the villagers have yodelling, flag throwing, alpine horns and cow bell ringing. The local population outnumbers the visitors!”
