Description

Jurassic Apartments - Bungalow with disabled access

Our self-catering Bungalow with disabled access is situated between the farmhouse and the riding school. There is a ramp to the double entrance doors and there are also double doors leading onto a small patio on the very edge of the riding school. The Bungalow has two double bedrooms with king size beds, a kitchen, lounge area and a shower room. In the lounge there is a long leather sofa which can be used as an extra single bed. All of our self-catering guests are welcome to use the farmhouse gardens, the summer house and the footpath leading down to the South West Coastal Path. The beach at the Fleet Saltwater Estuary is just 300 metres from the farm. Large parties can be accommodated in our self catering units and our B&B, but rarely last minute as we always have advance bookings for some of the accommodation. Early booking vital in peak periods.

About the property

E3200

This farmhouse rural retreat is a must for anyone wanting to get away from it all and relax by the sea, in our summer house, or to walk for miles along the Jurassic Coastal Path. The dramatic coastline of the “Isle” of Portland is home to some spectacular and unique wildlife, flora and fauna, whilst the Georgian seaside resort of Weymouth offers a bustling town and harbour. Weymouth & Portland are not only at the heart of the world Heritage Coast but also the venues for the sailing events of the 2012 Olympics. Whether you're looking for a stroll on the promenade, long sandy beaches, an historic harbour side or panoramic sea and landscapes, this is the area to visit, draw, paint or sketch. We cater for small Bridge Club Holidays and can accommodate 4/5 tables. Guests have access to the large garden, summer house, lake and field leading down to the sea. Our B&B guests are served free range eggs from our chicken, beautiful bantams and ducks roaming the gardens. Self-catering available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL3z68Ap7mY

About Jane Furlong

After living in Estepona and holidaying there for the past 30 years I never fail to enjoy the Spanish way of life. Now living in Dorset with a Farmhouse B&B, 4 self-catering apartments, a small campsite, pet pigs, alpacas, miniature Shetland ponies and loads of other pets to look after it's difficult to get away. All properties have spectacular sea views - come and visit.

Jane Furlong purchased this bungalow in 1997

Why Jane Furlong chose Weymouth and Portland

Our farmhouse is ideally situated in 35 acres of and of special scientific interest on the Jurassic Coast. We're just 2 miles from the National Sailing Academy and Portland Marina where there is a multitude of water sports available. We have 5 B&B rooms and two self catering apartments (min 3/4 nt stay) on the farm. There is a self-catering Holiday Home with a small private garden for dogs and 3 en suite bedrooms, including one ground floor bedroom. Our self-catering Bungalow has two double bedrooms and disabled access. We also have The Swallows Suite, a huge B&B room with super king bed, 2 single beds, luxury shower room, table, chairs, sofa and stunning views of Portland and Chesil Beach. Breakfast in bed is included in the daily rate for this room. We're just 2 miles from the 2012 Olympic site, Portland and Weymouth. With gardens and fields leading down to sea it's a stunning location. For more B&B rooms please contact us for for availability. Ref E3200.

What makes this bungalow unique

Our guests are encouraged to treat Swallows Rest as a home from home. We have a large guest lounge with 3D TV, a summer house for the warmer months and gardens and fields leading down to the Jurassic Coast which is just 300 metres from the farm.

In the gardens we have pet pigs George and Mildred wandering along with beautiful bantams, chickens, geese and ducks and a lake. Sometimes our Alpacas Kim, Barney and Angus are in the gardens and sometimes in the fields where we have a small campsite.

We have liveries and up to 20 horses on the farm, but no horse riding facility.

There is also a small campsite, open 365 days a year on the farm with amazing views of Chesil Beach and the Fleet Lagoon.

Perfect for a break in Weymouth

Lovely location, ideal for beach and surrounding area. Plenty of open space for children and easy access to the beach. Our Grandson loves seeing all the animals including George and Mildred the pigs! A short drive from Weymouth, but walkable too. Jane and Keith are very welcoming hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Bungalow is well equipped, comfortable and spacious for 4 people. Washing machine, dishwasher and wifi included. Parking right outside the door. Our second visit and we've booked for next year! We love it! Just the job!

Accommodation very comfortable, views excellent. Hosts very friendly. Loved having the animals nearby and it was great to be able to walk straight out onto the footpath and along the coastal path. Lots to see and do in the area. Visited nearby Weymouth, Also drove to Swanage, taking in Corfe Castle on the way. Another day drove to Lyme Regis, enjoying coastal views on the way there.
