About Katharine Pinfold

Hello, our names are Martin and Katharine and we live in the main house at Camp Hill. We hesitate to say we own Camp Hill, rather we feel we have the privilege (and responsibility) of looking after it for as long as we can.

The house had become rather neglected and we have therefore embarked on a long term project to restore both house and gardens to their former glory. Therefore if you come and stay don't be surprised to see us in our overalls with a paint brush in hand!

Katharine Pinfold purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Katharine Pinfold chose Staffordshire

As soon as we saw Camp Hill we fell in love and most people who visit can see why. Although only 10 minutes drive from the M6 we could be in the middle of nowhere. There is very little to disturb the peace and tranquility of Camp Hill and mostly all you can hear are the birds. After a long and stressful day there is nothing better than taking a walk round the gardens to revive and restore the spirit.

What makes this cottage unique

We also love the history of Camp Hill, which was originally built for Sarah Wedgwood and to which Charles Darwin was a frequent visitor. The gardens are beautiful and constantly changing with the seasons, from a paddock full of daffodils in March, to a waterfall of rhododendrons at the end of May, and the snowy chill of winter.

We really believe there is no other place quite like Camp Hill. Please come and see for yourselves, we don't think you will be disappointed.
