Seabank is actually as close to the beach as you can get. There is an enclosed veranda, with a wood-burning stove and amazing uninterrupted sea views, and an open plan kitchen; also a separate sitting room with TV/DVD. There are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom (bunk beds) and another twin bedroom with bunk and cot or bed. There's a high chair, changing mat, lots of toys - and there is BT broadband!

About the Owner

My son bought Seabank 10 years ago, having spent his childhood holidays in Selsey - as did I and my mother before me! I have 4 grown-up children and 4 grandchildren - all of whom adore Seabank. It's ideal for adults who just want to sit and stare at the sea and the sky - or paint it - and for children who love being within a pebble's throw of the beach. There is the added advantage of being near Chichester, when you feel you need shops, restaurants, galleries or the theatre.

My son and daughter-in-law have restored Seabank beautifully and we all love and take good care of it, as I'm sure will all the people who stay there.

What a wonderful, unique property .... we loved everything about it, not least the close proximity to the sea! It was very well equipped, comfortable and just the most unique place we've ever stayed ..... didn't want to leave and I'm sure we'll be back. We've recommended to loads of people via Facebook!

Family history. My grandmother used to stay in Selsey as a child, as did my mother, and as did I with my brother and sister; now I have Seabank and take my own 3 children there. Even on a sunny bank holiday, East beach will not be crowded. The light is beautiful - perfect for gazing at the sea with either a paint brush or a gin and tonic in hand! If bird-watching is your thing, the twitchers love Pagham Harbour - just down the beach from East beach. Lovely walks. The house - converted railway carriages - is unique.

Virtually on the sea.

The house is built around two lovingly restored 19th century Studley railway carriages. They were originally used on the Brighton to London line and then after the First World War converted into holiday homes along the Sussex coast. Each of the coaches at Seabank has been carefully adapted to make the most of the original features creating cosy and quirky living spaces.

Coast/Beach:

This property is right on the sea front - pebble beach with sand at low tide. About a 20 minute drive to West Witterng which has a large totally sandy beach.

Travel:

A car is not essential once you're there, as you're virtually on the beach, and the shops and playground are less than 10 minutes away. Chichester railway station is about 20 miinutes' drive - a £15 taxi ride, or a bus. Goodwood and Portsmouth are about 25/30 minutes' drive away.

Distances:

The local parade of shops is about 7 minutes' walk and the village about 15/20 minutes' walk away.

Further Details:

There is such a variety of things to do in the area, I wouldn't know where to begin! We keep a basket of leaflets in the house and would advise googling and looking on the tourist board website visitsussex.org to see the latest events and schedules.
