Villa in Lodeve, Herault / Languedoc Roussillon, France - Peaceful Location

The villa sits in peaceful hills in a small hamlet called Le Puech close to Lac Salagou and boasts vast uninterrupted views of the countryside. It has a spacious open plan living area and is comfortably furnished. There are 2 large double bedrooms and a third double bedroom that also has 2 single beds. There is a family bathroom and a separate shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a BBQ for outdoor cooking. The pool area has a lockable gate and surrounding terrace whilst a terrace at the rear of the villa provides a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the sun. The market towns of Lodeve and Clermont L'Herault are a short drive away whilst the coast is approx. a 40 minute drive.

About Mr C Young

I live in England with my wife and 2 sons. We had always spent our holidays in France and I was lucky enough - or mad enough maybe? - to make a spur of the moment decision some years ago and purchase a plot of land.

I was not able to do very much with it for a while but gradually over the years we have, with the help of some very good friends in the area, built the villa.

We now have lots of wonderful friends in and around Lodeve and enjoy spending time here throughout the year.

Mr C Young purchased this villa in 2001

Why Mr C Young chose Clermont-l'Herault area

The villa is perfectly situated to provide a quiet 'get away' in beautiful surroundings within easy reach of lazy French market towns such as Lodeve and Clermont L'Herault or buzzing towns such as Montpellier and Beziers.

Nestled in the hills are some ancient villages definately worth a visit - our favourite is St Guilhem Le Desert.

The coast is only a short drive away whilst the stunning Lake Salagou is round the corner.

There are some amazing walks with contrasting landscapes, wonderful caves to explore and rivers to be canoed.

What makes this villa unique

We really enjoy lazing on the patio sipping the local wines - of which there are many! It is sheltered and sunny and the new heater means that we can enjoy the pool for more of the year now.

Notes:
Outside: There is a large patio to the rear of the villa which remains sunny all day and is great for BBQs in the evenings. The front terrace is lovely for that morning cup of coffee whilst taking in the view. The private pool area is fenced with a lockable childproof gate and has it's own surrounding terrace. There is a table on the patio with seating and a sun shade as well as sun loungers and a BBQ. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are available if required. The villa is cleaned at the end of each stay.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is a 30 - 40 minute drive away. Lake Salagou is a 5 minute drive away where you will find safe beaches for bathing as well as bikes, pedalos, sailing boats and wind surfers for hire. Horse Riding is widely available as there are a number of stables around Lodeve and Lake Salagou.

Travel:

If flying the nearest airport is Montpellier and you would need to hire a car for your stay. The drive from Montpellier is approx 45 minutes.
