Jardins Vale de Parra is ideally located for all ages with virtually everything you need for a relaxing or active holiday nearby. Easily accessible from Faro Airport, we can arrange transfers to and from the apartment so you have nothing to think of at either end of your holiday.

Close to all amenities and within walking distance to Gale and Salgados beaches with excellent beach bar/restaurants. They may be the best in the Algarve. Stroll along the beach to Armacao da Pera with its variety of good, inexpensive local and ethnic seafront restaurants. Close by is the traditional, pretty village of Guia which is the home of chicken piri-piri! (you'll never go to Nando's again!) Guia is also home to Algarve Shopping, a mall with excellent shops, English-speaking medical centre and a large supermarket.

Children will enjoy Zoomarine where they can swim with dolphins, learn about marine-life conservation, see and interact with many varieties of fish and also go on a number of amusement park rides. Now resident in the UK but having owned a property in the Algarve for 15 years and lived there with our children in international school from the age of 11 through their teenage years, we have a good knowledge of the area and are well placed to help you enjoy your holiday to the maximum with advice and help on where to go and what to do, and of course, we still holiday there ourselves.

Whilst our teenagers preferred the nightlife from Albufeira to Vale de Lobo, our scene was more traditional with the Algarvian countryside, beaches and restaurants being more to our liking, so whether you have younger children, teenagers or no children we are very familiar with what's on and where to go and would be very pleased if we can help you.

Why Joy Jones chose Albufeira

Vale de Parra is within walking distance of Gale and Salgados beaches with miles of golden sand.

A variety of excellent restaurants are on the doorstep from very casual to more formal but all can be enjoyed without dressing up. We can advise on which are the best, also in the apartment are a list of local eateries together with comments from other guests

Close by is a small but well-stocked supermarket and less than 5 minutes away, the traditional village of Guia the home of chicken piri-piri (forget Nando's!), with a variety of restaurants offering fresh-caught fish, steaks and traditional Portuguese fare. From the apartment you can decide on quiet villages, countryside and beach restaurants or the bustling nightlife of Albufeira: the choice is yours.

For keen golfers, Salgados offers an excellent course within 3 or 4 mins or 30 odd others within 30 minutes drive!

On the main road, the EN125 is "Algarve Shopping", a mall with excellent shops, an English-speaking medical centre, a multiplex cinema (with films in English) and a large supermarket.

What makes this apartment unique

There can be few locations with so much within easy reach but in such a relaxed and uncrowded environment, so you can enjoy the type of holiday you want without being aware of the existence of the things you don't. No high-rise apartment blocks around here!

The layout of the apartment lends itself to unusual privacy - the 2 bedrooms are situated at opposite ends of the apartment each with their own bathroom (one being en-suite). Both bedrooms and the lounge and kitchen have air-conditioning and patio doors onto a private terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by or enjoy a drink as the sun sets over the sea.

Numerous activities for all ages and tastes within easy reach. This small, private condominium is ideal for those who just want to relax. A car is not essential but if you hire one there is private underground parking to keep it cool in summer!

There is a manned reception area (08:00-22:00hrs) with friendly staff who will answer your questions, organise taxis, transport or trips. Within the complex there are two adult pools, a children's pool and a cocktail bar where the gin & tonics have to be seen to be believed!

Outside: Two large shared pools and a children's pool in well kept gardens. Adequate sunbeds for all residents are provided. The pool-side private bar with its cobbled terrace has snacks available for the convenience of swimmers and sunbathers or more substantial bar snacks are available from the Littrus Bar. There are a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance from the complex. The private terrace extends the whole length of the apartment with a dining area outside the kitchen, where in the evening you can sit and watch the sun go down over the sea on the horizon. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning once a week. All linen and towels provided (not beach towels).

Lovely Accommodation great base to Explore!

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of space in the apartment as it large clean and very well equipped.

Local cafe and shop directly opposite the accommodation. A 20 minute walk to local beaches and a short ride to Armaceo de Pera or Albufeira so nicely situated. The owner Joy was lovely to deal with so made our stay a pleasant one. We are hoping to stay again soon.

Couldn't ask for more!

The apartment was absolutely lovely! It was exactly what we were looking for and better than most of the other apartments we'd seen (and they were more expensive). The owners are really helpful and will accommodate you to the best of their abilities which makes the holiday so much more enjoyable. Perfect location and lovely staff in the complex, great facilities and fantastic atmosphere. We've already booked another holiday this year!

You can have fun with the super karts but you need a car or taxi to get there.

Gale beach is a 20 minute stroll away or there is a regular bus outside the apartment or two minutes by taxi. Gale is a very pretty, sheltered beach with 3 excellent beach front bar/restaurants. Next to it is Salgados beach along which you can stroll for a mile or so to the town of Armacao da Pera with its variety of good, inexpensive local and ethnic seafront restaurants.


The apartment is 30 minutes from Faro Airport. We can organise good value airport transfers or recommend car hire companies.

There are beaches, bars and restaurants within walking distance and our reception staff can organise trips and taxis.


Albufeira: large town 10 minutes by car/taxi. Shops, gift-shops, bars restaurants, street musicians.

Guia village: 5 minutes by car/taxi. Good quality restaurants and chicken piri-piri, exceptional wine shop, banks, excellent English-speaking pharmacy

Algarve Shopping: 5 minutes by car/taxi. Fashion shops, jewellers, electrical stores, shoe shops, excellent hypermarketand and a big food court selling many ethnic restaurants.

Water parks: 15 mins away with their own regular bus service.

Further Details:

Bank: just opposite the complex or there are several in the village of Guia

Pharmacy: just down the road from the complex or an excellent English-speaking one in Guia.

Supermarket: very good mini-market across the road from the apartment;

Algarve Shopping: excellent large hypermarket (Continente) restaurants vary from Indian, Italian, Chinese, International and of course, Portuguese.

Zoomarine Oceanography Study Centre: swim with dolphins (pre-book), shows with dolphins and seals and aquariums and a number of fun rides - an excellent day out for the whole family

Albufeira - large town: with it's night life is 10 minutes away.

Loule: large town with a big market on Saturday mornings

Two roads run parallel right across the Algarve from East to West. The EN125 immediately north of Guia and the A22 motorway a little further north. The motorway is much quicker but with tolls (talk to your car-hire company) and your credit card will be debited with the charge as well as an administration fee if you leave Portugal without paying them!

Approx 45 mins in the opposite direction from the airport (just off the A22) is the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve motor-racing and karting circuits.

There is also good karting to be had at Almancil, about half way to the airport.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking. You will be required to complete a booking form. Final monies will be due six weeks before the holiday. You will receive notification of all monies recieved within 3 working days of receipt. Payment in cash or cheque in Stirling or Euros (cash).

Changeover Day:
Changeover date is flexible. We ask that the apartment is vacated by 11am. Access will be 3pm unless there are no guests departing. We will always try to let you gain access as soon as possible and allow a late departure if we have no incoming guests.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
