A beautiful family house with private pool and grounds in a rural setting

Updated: 24-Oct-2016
Family House in a beautiful location with a big pool and fabulous views

Casa Corviello is a beautiful 5 bedroom old stone farmhouse with a separate 2 bedroom cottage (if required) situated just outside the charming historical village of Gualdo, in the region of Le Marche, Italy. The grounds are plentiful, secluded and not overlooked and include an olive grove, 13m swimming pool with diving board in the deep end, large BBQ, 4.2m in-ground trampoline, table tennis table, table football and mature gardens, surrounded by green fields and woodland as far as the eye can see. The main house is spacious, comfortable and well furnished and the cottage which is separate is cosy, comprises 1 spacious double bedroom and 1 single room, shower room, living room and kitchen, perfect for Au Pairs, teenagers and relatives who want to holiday together but like some independence. There is a small additional charge if the cottage is required. Attached to the cottage is a utility room with a washing machine and dryer and a further toilet and shower room. Extensive gardens add to the spaciousness and yet the house is completely private. Access to the property is via a short white (stony) road but is safe and easily driveable.

About the Owner

Hi there - we are the Welch family and we have owned our house Casa Corviello since 2003. We spent 2 years renovating the house and putting in the pool and since then have enjoyed years of wonderful family holidays with our two children.

What a lovely part of the world. A place you can completely relax in and forget about the stress of normal working life. The Property itself works well for families and our children had a great time. The local town is very family friendly and we felt very comfortable letting them explore on their own. The local food is amazing and incredibly good value. If you fancy a change of scene there are beaches and mountain lakes within an hour drive.

The scenery is breath taking and if you like exploring there are some incredible walks off the "beaten track".

There is also a huge amount of Italian culture and a deep feeling history with local Roman excavations and Medieval Towns with summer Festivals. Macerata is well known for its Italian Opera and is a 40 min drive.

The villa is beautiful and well designed for family life.

I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic taste of Italy

From the Owner

The house and pool are secluded and not over looked and the garden has slowly matured over the years and now has wonderful trees, hedges and plants. There is a huge lawned area complete with big inset trampoline for little ones (or big ones!!). The pool has a shallow and a deep end with a diving-board which is enormous fun. The pool is not fenced off but we do have pool safety alarms should you have any young non-swimmers in your party. We also have an outdoor table tennis table and table football to keep those teenagers busy.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Ancona at 90 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Ancona at 90 Kilometres Nearest Train : Civitanova Marche at 40 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Porto San Giorgio at 48 Kilometres Car: necessary

Special interest holidays:

The area surrounding the house is famed for its walking amongst the Sibillini Mountains. There are signed routes around the area and from Sarnarno. Bikes can be hired locally for those interested in more active touring!!!

There are beaches at Numana, Lido di Fermo, Porto San Giorgio all within a hours drive. Plenty of others line the coast line, some more suited to the young and other typical family beaches. The thing to do is try them all until you find the one that suits you best. Usually busy during July and August but great for the kids with play parks and games areas. The sand here is wonderful. Food available all along the coast.

Ancona Airport 1 hr 20 mins by car. Perugia airport is 90 minutes by car. Pescara Airport 1 hr 50 mins by car. Rome Airport 3 hrs by car. Bologna Airport 3 hrs by car. Car hire, or use of car, is essential.

Gualdo, only 3 minutes away by car and San Ginesio and Sarnano only 10-15 minutes away by car, are all beautiful medieval hilltop towns. Sarnano is the most popular, bustling with shops and coffee bars - a great meeting place. All have a market day (mornings only) with something different to offer. Macerata, famous for its opera festival is 30 minutes away by car. The Sibillini mountains are only 25 minutes away by car.

Further Details:

Gualdo has a bank, bakery, pharmacy, butcher, filling station, greengrocers, two bar / Restaurants and two mini supermarkets. Gualdo also has a tennis court. Da Cicco' in Gualdo is a restaurant open for lunches and dinner and serves wonderful, typical Italian food - limited menu but inexpensive. San Ginesio has much the same but Sarnano offers a greater choice of restaurants and shops. Marche Voyager is the best website for discovering where to go and what to see in Le Marche.
