Chalet St. Joseph is an excellent chalet situated in the picturesque Savoyarde village of Les Allues in the Meribel valley. It is a three minute walk from the bars and restaurants of the village and just an 8 minute drive from Meribel centre. The chalet has a large indoor hot tub and sauna and comprises three accommodation units which can be booked all together for groups of up to 16 people or by the unit to suit smaller groups and/or families. All meals are prepared and eaten on the main chalet floor. Everyone staying at the chalet has access to the large indoor hot tub and sauna and the ski and boot storage room with heated boot rack. The chalet is available on a fully catered basis during the ski season (breakfast, afternoon tea & evening meal with wine/beer) and is run by business owners Heather and Andy Davies who can help you organise a variety of extras including lift passes, ski/snowboard lessons, airport transfers and ski/snowboard hire.

We are Heather & Andy Davies. We are in our 8th year running Alpine Ethos and Chalet St. Joseph. We consistently receive 5* reviews from our guests for our food and service on TripAdvisor. We are passionate about cooking, snowboarding, mountain-biking, road biking and hiking. We live in the Alps year round, and love meeting (and looking after) our guests whether they visit to ski, snowboard, take part in summer activities or relax in the beautiful alpine surroundings.

Why Heather or Andy Davies chose Meribel

The chalet is in a great location for enjoying the Alps the year round. It is peaceful and conveniently located near the centre of Les Allues village which has a few local bars and restaurants and a village shop whilst being only a few minutes drive from the hustle and bustle, shops, bars and restaurants of Meribel centre.

What makes this apartment unique

During the winter the ski slopes are easily accessed using the free ski bus which is a 5 minute walk from the chalet or the Olympic gondola (an 8-10 minute walk). We also provide a private minibus service for our guests to get them to the ski lifts with minimum hassle.

During the summer guests can explore the local surroundings from the chalet doorstep with well-signposted routes taking you up the 'Col de la Lune', the mountain above the village. There are also unlimited local activities such as mountain biking, via ferrata, rock climbing, tennis, horse riding, lake swimming etc.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of £150 per person is payable to confirm bookings. Full payment is due 8 weeks prior to the start date of guests' stay.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday during the ski season and flexible during the summer months.

Notes on prices:
Winter:
Prices are per person based on 8 people sharing the main chalet floor (unit 1) and/or 4 people sharing apartment A (unit 2) and/or 4 people sharing apartment B (unit 3). Prices include chalet board catering (breakfast, afternoon tea & course evening meals with wine/beer 6 nights per week), daily room servicing and a minibus service to and from Meribel centre.

Summer prices are based on a self-catered basis per unit however catering is also available during the summer.

Mountain biking holidays are available during July and August.

Travel:

Nearby airports include: Chambery 1 hr transfer. Geneva 2 hrs transfer. Lyon 2 hrs 15 transfer. Grenoble 2 hrs 15 transfer.

The nearest train station is Moutiers just 20 minutes drive away. The chalet is also an easy drive from Calais, approx 10 hrs away (via Reims).

The chalet is 5 miles from Meribel centre and 200m from the bars and restaurants of Les Allues.

Further Details:

Whilst a prime winter skiing destination, the chalet is also open during the summer months and is a great location from which to take advantage of all the activities the alps has to offer from hiking to mountain biking, via ferrata, rock climbing, canyoning, rafting, horse-riding, tennis, swimming and more.

  • Notes on accommodation: During the summer time the chalet apartments are available on a self-catered basis as well as bed & breakfast and half-board. The main chalet floor is available on a bed & breakfast or half-board basis only. During the ski season all units are available on a fully catered basis (breakfast, afternoon tea & 3 course evening meal with wine). All meals are prepared and eaten on the main chalet floor with other guests. Rooms are serviced on a daily basis. Chalet staff have one day off per week when a continental breakfast is providedt. On this day there is no minibus service or room service. Outside: Outside there is plenty of free private parking. In summer there is a bbq area with picnic bench.
