House in Simorre, Gers, Masseube, Midi Pyrenees, France - Peaceful Location Set Amongst Rolling Hills, 5 Minutes Walk From Village Centre With Shops, Bar/Cafe

Very comfortable family house with extensive grounds and a 10x5m salt-water swimming pool (with a shallow end for children). It is a true family home with all the latest domestic equipment, some fine furnishings and antiques and plenty of board games, books, maps and things that you would expect in a fully furnished home It also has internet access, DVDs, CDs, 2 televisions (satellite) and a log burning stove in each of the 2 sitting rooms. The house is in a wonderful, elevated position overlooking the very attractive village of Simorre and surrounded by beautiful hills which all make for marvellous sunrises and sunsets, and magnificent stargazing on a warm summer's evening. The terraces lend themselves to outdoor eating and there is seating in both sun and shade to suit all tastes. You may even get a glimpse of some beautiful deer as they wander over the hills or hear nightingales singing their hearts out (night and day!).

A wonderful holiday, we enjoyed every minute of our stay and it all went too fast.

Lovely setting, very comfortable, lots to see and do if you can drag yourselves away from the house and pool.

Very comfortable house with beautiful views. Serene, lovely area. We didn't want to leave.

Notes on accommodation: Large L shaped hall with wide tiled staircase to bedrooms 1 & 2. Main sitting room, tiled floor with rugs, dining table seating 8, study/library, tiled floor, WC, kitchen, utility room. Door to second hall off which is the summer sitting room/dining room and kitchen. = 3rd and 4th bedrooms and shower room. Outside: By the front door there is a small tiled east facing terrace with table and seating, ideal for breakfast in the morning sun and lunch when the shade has arrived. Along the west side of the house is a long terrace beside the sitting room and the main kitchen with french doors to more tables and seating. This is in full sun from noon onwards and ideal for evening dining. To the south, outside the summer sitting room is another small terrace. The private, salt-water swimming pool is 10m x 5m and is surrounded by paving for sunloungers. The well-kept gardens and lawns are regularly maintained and guests are invited to pick any fruit in season from the small orchard (cherries, plums, figs). There are plenty of areas for boules, badminton, croquet (more challenging than on an english lawn!). All equipment is at the house. There are 2 tennis courts in the village. Utility Room: Washing machine, shelves for food and china storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All quality linen and towels are provided on arrival. Swimming towels only provided for those arriving by air. Property cleaned on Saturdays. Other: Summer sitting room with sofas & chairs, TV, DVD, CD player. Additional table for eating, seats 8. 2nd kitchen with gas cooker, large fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave. Study/library with internet access.

Rental rates


  • Booking Notes:
    A deposit of 25% is payable on confirmation of your booking to secure your reservation. A damage deposit of £300 is also required with final payment which is due 6 weeks before the commencement of your holiday. The deposit will be returned promptly if no breakages or damage have been incurred.All breakages or damage to property or swimming pool must be reported to owner or housekeeper. Payment can be made in sterling or euros at the current exchange rate by bank transfer or bankers draft.

    Changeover Day:
    Saturday is changeover day. Please arrive after 4pm and leave by 10am to allow for full cleaning throughout the premises.
