Apartment in Baia Da Luz, Western Algarve, Portugal - Less Than 5 Minutes Walk To Beach

This superb spacious 2 bedroomed apartment (1,150 sq ft) is based in the Baia Da Luz resort which was completed in 2008. The bright and tastefully co-ordinated contemporary interior is fitted out to 5 star standards, and has a fully fitted kitchen with granite counter tops, Siemens appliances, a large open plan living-cum-dining room, flatscreen Sky Satellite TV, DVD, stereo, air conditioning and underfloor heating. The dining area table seats 6. There are 3 separate balconies adjoining the apt, 1 private balcony at the rear with morning sun, lovely views & not overlooked, & 2 with afternoon and evening sun. Praia Da Luz has a beautiful blue flag beach less than 5 mins walk away, whilst the resort facilities include 2 large swimming pools (one for adults), toddler pool, childrens playground, 2 tennis courts and a restaurant and pool bar. The historic town of Lagos is 6kms away, and there are several quality golf courses including Penina, Boavista and Amendoeira within a 5 - 20 min drive.

About Joe Simpson

My wife and I have 2 boys aged 14 and 15. We usually holiday in Luz twice every year. The place is relaxed and laid back. Restaurants are extremely family friendly so we can dine out as a family without any time restrictions. Our apartment is within walking distance of all the local amenities. The beach front has a beautiful paved promenade to stroll along.

After relaxing on the beach for a few days we usually take the local bus into Lagos which is only 5 minutes away. There you can stroll around the historic area of the town, take in a festival or head to the Marina and try out the cafes and shops.

The apartment is luxurious with everything that you could want in place (including a cot & high chair).

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is 5 star, has all the mod cons, has 3 balconies (all of which get the sun) with the balcony at the rear very private and not overlooked. The apartment is located within a village and is only 5 minutes away from Lagos. The resort staff are excellent - nothing is too much trouble. There are a good number of bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the apartment.

Notes on accommodation: There is an allocated car space in the basement which is secured. There is also ample free car parking directly outside the apartment. Outside: There are 2 shared pools including adults only pool, as well as a toddlers pool. Very well maintained gardens, 2 tennis courts, children's playground, pool bar and restaurant. There is a poolside bathroom with changing facilities. At the poolside bar there are various children activities including a pool table, fuse ball & play station. Utility Room: Separate utility room with washing machine and access to a balcony with afternoon/evening sun. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels, hand towels and bed linen are included. Travel cots, high chairs, and beach towels are available on request and can be paid for at reception. Interim cleaning service is also available and can be paid for at reception. Other: The balcony off the 2 bedrooms is equipped with high quality round table and 2 carver chairs.

Great Accommodation and Location

This apartment was very comfortable and spacious. It is very well equipped, All kitchen appliances, large bedrooms and 2 very spacious bathrooms. WiFI was also included. Balconies are great with Sun all day long one at least one of them. The location is also fab, being close to the beach, restaurants and bars. Can't wait to go back.

The apartment and complex is to a very high standard in a quiet location. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the pools are quiet and relaxing with a pool bar that is not over priced for food or drinks, they also do a take away service. There is everything you would need in the apartment and the two main balconies will seat four easily allowing to have sun or shade all day. We are looking forward to going again.

We've had a fantastic holiday in Baia da Luz. The apartment was 5 star - the standard of finish, tons of space and quality of equipment and furnishings. The setting was fantastic - a v short walk to 2 pools and bar. And it really was 5 mins to the beach - and what a beach!

With all this surrounding us the apartment was very quiet and relaxed. Ticked all the boxes!

Would recommend the place to others.

Owners very efficient and friendly to deal with.

The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the beautiful blue flag beach at Praia Da Luz, one of the best beaches on the Algarve. It is sheltered by magnificent coloured sandstone cliffs with spectacular cliff walks and edged by several rock pools. With many water sport activities, stylish beach side cafes, restaurants and bars, the beach area is ideal for all tastes.


Direct flights are available from most UK and Irish airports to Faro International Airport. Flying time is 2hr 20mins to 2 hrs 50mins. Faro is 50mins drive from Baia Da Luz resort on the recently built A22 motorway. The apartment is just 7 mins taxi ride from historic Lagos where a train service operates to Faro.


The apartment is in the beautiful village of Praia Da Luz and is just 5mins walk from the beach. Praia da Luz is 6kms west of the old town of Lagos, where there is a modern marina and hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants. It is also within easy reach of Cape St Vincent, the most westerly point in Europe. Seville in Spain and Lisbon, Portugal's capital can both be reached in under 3 hours.

Within the Baia Da Luz resort, there is a pool bar, and the Alloro restaurant. The restaurant also supplies a take-away service. Babysitting services can also be booked at reception.
