Rural Country House With Extensive Gardens And Natural Woodland

Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Nov-2016
House near Truro, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location From Small Vibrant Cathedral City Of Truro

Lovely house in the extensive grounds of Bodrean Manor, yet quite private in itself. The property was built in 1870 and modernised by ourselves. There is full central heating,WIFI and Sky + tv (film & sport)-you can sip your morning coffee on the cobbles and later in the day relax on a large lawn and have a barbecue. The location is excellent for both coasts (approx 16 mins) and very near the extremely attractive small cathedral city of Truro, which has many restaurants, theatre, cinema and strong retailing centre.

You enter thru glass doors from the cobbled yard into hall which has doorway to right into very large games room(piano, table tennis,tv-ideal for children)-straight ahead is large downstairs walk in shower + wc and to the left is doorway into large dining room-this has archway leading to spacious kitchen from which attractive stairs leads up to landing. At the bottom of stairs is doorway to small porch that leads out to large garden.

The landing has a single bed and leads in one direction to sitting room and in other direction to large thru twin bedroom-from this bedroom leads conventional passageway with large double bedroom + cot and then a further twin bedroom(all the rooms are very spacious)-at the end of the landing passageway is a large bathroom with bath, walk in shower + wc.

Tolles Ferienhaus in absolut ruhiger Lage

  • 5 of 5

A great place to stay to cover all of Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

We spent 7 days at this property. Very quiet & comfortable with lots of space for a large family. The central location allowed us to cover many different areas. A little difficult to find without a sat nav. but once you have found it you will be happy to stay.

A spacious house in beautiful grounds

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay It was well located just outside of Truro with easy access to North and south coasts of Cornwall

The house was spacious, well equipped and had ample outside space. We enjoyed our stay immensely and we can't wait to return to Cornwall again

Lovely old rambling house in pretty grounds

  • 4 of 5

Ideally situated for Truro which is a 10 minute drive away the house is well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Only criticism is the beds were not terribly comfortable and a birds nest in the eves above one of the front bedrooms was extremely noisy. Otherwise a good base for myself and a couple of colleagues while working in Truro, more cost effective and comfortable than hotel rooms.

Owner's Response: it is difficult finding a bed that suits everyone-a balance between firm & soft!-we are very much surrounded by nature here!(birds, pheasants, foxes ,badgers and the occasional deer!)

I looked at a lot of properties, wanting a rental for 6 of us attending a family wedding in Truro, we were all very glad we chose The Coach House it is wonderful. The location is ideal, close to Truro but with easy access to the A30 without going through the city. The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful down a tree lined drive with extensive lovely gardens. We enjoyed seeing the pheasants and bats and foxes, a great place for wildlife lovers. The teenagers enjoyed the tennis court and the little ones loved the huge games room.Even the older folks enjoyed a game of table tennis! It is a really spacious country house, full of and was warm and cosy even in November. It is also very well equipped, nicely decorated and comfortable. It would be an ideal place for a holiday with a young family or for groups of friends/family of any age.It proved an ideal place for a wedding party, and we were able to entertain family and friends, the bride and her entourage even used the games room to get ready for the wedding as it was so spacious and it was lovely for some photographs. I would recommend it to anyone and hope we can return one day soon.

fantastic place to stay with young children. they loved to go and play amongst the gardens while we, the parents were able to sit in the garden and have a coffee!. the use of the tennis court was brilliant, we used it all the time. lovely and quiet and very safe. the kids loved watching the bats fly out of the roof top ledges at night. A definate place to recommend.
