Overview

About the property

House near Truro, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location From Small Vibrant Cathedral City Of Truro

Lovely house in the extensive grounds of Bodrean Manor, yet quite private in itself. The property was built in 1870 and modernised by ourselves. There is full central heating,WIFI and Sky + tv (film & sport)-you can sip your morning coffee on the cobbles and later in the day relax on a large lawn and have a barbecue. The location is excellent for both coasts (approx 16 mins) and very near the extremely attractive small cathedral city of Truro, which has many restaurants, theatre, cinema and strong retailing centre.

You enter thru glass doors from the cobbled yard into hall which has doorway to right into very large games room(piano, table tennis,tv-ideal for children)-straight ahead is large downstairs walk in shower + wc and to the left is doorway into large dining room-this has archway leading to spacious kitchen from which attractive stairs leads up to landing. At the bottom of stairs is doorway to small porch that leads out to large garden.

The landing has a single bed and leads in one direction to sitting room and in other direction to large thru twin bedroom-from this bedroom leads conventional passageway with large double bedroom + cot and then a further twin bedroom(all the rooms are very spacious)-at the end of the landing passageway is a large bathroom with bath, walk in shower + wc.

About Dr Anthony Hambly

Retired Cornish doctor who has brought up his family in lovely manor house near Truro as well as making a lovely garden and modernising the Coach House nearby. I come from an old Cornish family and also own a unique house in Port Isaac (14th generation to do so!) as well as a beach holiday house at Daymer Bay.

Dr Anthony Hambly purchased this house in 1980

Why Dr Anthony Hambly chose Saint Clement

Because it was rural yet near Truro - it happens to be one of the nicest houses in the area with beautiful bluebell woods and enviable location yet near both coasts!

What makes this house unique

Space and privacy with all mod cons.

A wonderful property to get away from it all

  • 5 of 5

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in August 2017. The property has lots to offer. Its very secluded and hence peaceful, but also only a short drive to Truro and the north and south coasts. The cottage itself is large and there was ample room for all seven of us. The bedrooms are large, beds comfortable and the kitchen well furnished. The table tennis table and piano were used often as was the BBQ. The outside grounds provide plenty of space for the children and dog(s) to play, and the tennis court is well maintained and was put to good use regularly . There are plenty of balls and racquets for use as well as hockey sticks and balls! Thoroughly recommend as a good family base for exploring this part of cornwall with peace and quiet to recharge after a long day.

Lovely secluded holiday home

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent in the Coach House, set in a very rural area yet close to beaches and small towns and villages. The rooms were large and comfortable and the grand children loved being able to play tennis and table tennis.

Lovely property, loads of space

  • 4 of 5

The Coach House is a lovely big property, with plenty of living space, large bedrooms and a spacious and well equipped kitchen. The tennis court is well looked after and there is plenty of equipment for this and the indoor table tennis available. Location is very good for Truro (Waitrose !) and everything else the city has to offer. As the literature states, both coasts are easily accessible by car. A lovely base to stay for exploring the depths of Cornwall !

A superb retreat in February at Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the space and privacy in this coach house. Secluded in the owner's estate with nobody else annoyed us, this hols was unexpectedly blessed by the blue sky and sun.

All rooms were well heated with all equipments provided in addition to the fabulous local artists' paintings on walls to please your eyes. We definitely wants to come back again.

Tolles Ferienhaus in absolut ruhiger Lage

  • 5 of 5
