This elegant second floor apartment, (with stairs) in a converted 1890s stucco-fronted building, features a large west-facing living-dining room with French windows, opening onto a small balcony overlooking the square. There is one large and one small double bedroom, (one with king size and one with a small double bed) a small kitchenette, large bathroom with shower and WC and a second separate WC.

About the Owner

We are English, retired, my wife was an executive with Yves St Laurent UK and I was with an international marketing & PR agency.

I'm the author of a recently published book about the 1960s and the impact of Italian food on the UK 's restaurant culture.

Our current project is the restoration of an old farmhouse in Puglia, Southern Italy, and the flat is let while we are away. So this is not a rental flat business, it is part of our own home.

Lovely sitting room, comfy beds, functional kitchen, good neighborhood.

We stayed for a week in February and were delighted with our sunny, view of the garden and square from the

book-filled sitting room. This apartment is situated away from noisy streets, but very close to the tube and bus stops, so it

was easy to get around and very easy to get to from Heathrow. Lovely small streets nearby for exploring, lots of dining and

grocery options.

Mrs. Dulfis Hayden met us and showed us how things worked and where everthing was located. She made herself

available during the week, if we needed help, and was charming and friendly.

It is an old building and the walls are thin. The only negatives were a noisy party nearby on Sat. night and three flights of stairs.

We would stay here again.

We have lived in this area since 1976: The garden square is very quiet, but has immediate access to airports, LHR and LGW, and to all of west London via the underground and bus system.

Activity and Interests


Heathrow Airport 40 minutes by underground from Earls Court station, or 40 minutes by taxi.

Gatwick Airport 30 minutes by train from Victoria station or 40 minutes from nearby West Brompton Station (300 metres walk) via Clapham Junction. The Easybus service to Gatwick comes and goes at Old Brompton station 350 metres away.


Earls Court Stadium is 200 metres away. West End theatres: three minutes walk to Earls Court station and 15-18 minutes ride to Piccadilly Circus Leicester Square and Covent Garden on the Piccadilly Line.

Earls Court Road and Old Brompton Road are both 100 metres walk.

Earls Court Square is a peaceful and generally quiet location, protected from and yet offering quick access to, main thoroughfares.

Earls Court tube station, 200 metres away on Earls Court Road, serves the Piccadilly line to Heathrow and the West End, and the District line to High Street Kensington, South Kensington, Chelsea and Victoria Station for the South, Brighton and Gatwick airport.

In nearby Old Brompton Road are Chase a good and quick dry cleaner and laundry, a Japanese Restaurant, the celebrated Troubador Cafe with live entertainment, (you've missed Paul Simon who featured there in 1961) Rocco London, and several other cheerful Italian restaurants. For a good and easy high quality ready-to-cook-at-home meal, we recommend Marks & Spencer (“M&S”). I haven’t mentioned the pubs but there are plenty, of many different styles, see what suits you.
