Arrive distressed and leave de-stressed! Casa Erizo is fully furnished holiday accommodation or B&B with a private pool, and is a perfect base for those who just want to chill, romantics, walkers, sightseers, birdwatchers or artists, due to its quiet mountainous location. It is an old lovingly restored cortijo with 360-degree stunning views of the spectacular Sierra de las Estancias Mountains. It has the best elevated view of the Rambla de Oria valley, nestled under Piedra de Aguila (Eagle Rock with real eagles!) and is excellent for relaxing away from the crowds in real Spain. The holiday farmhouse has its own entrance and with a solar heated private swimming pool which has electric heating as well in autumn and spring. About the Owner

My husband (who speaks Spanish), Peter and I have been welcoming guests to our holiday accommodation and sharing our knowledge of the local area so that guests can really enjoy their time here for seven years now. We have a motto "Arrive a stranger and leave a friend...."

Here you have to live Spanish and think Spanish. I go to Spanish lessons and Sevillana dancing lessons. We do displays at the local summer fiestas, which guests love to come to.

Heather and Pete recommended some lovely places to visit that were in easy reach of the villa. The villa was fantastic and we've never seen stars like it as the whole valley falls pitch black on an evening. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

Superb location for a relaxing holiday!

Beautiful spot in a valley surrounded by mountains. So quiet. If you want to walk,swim,chill out yet travel about (car a must) this is the place to be. La Casa is very comfortable and 'mine hosts' great. There to help and advise if needed!

This is the real Spain.

A quiet place away from it all

Well what can I say the villa exceeded our expectations and. A great couple that own making you feel at home as soon as you arrive.

It's high up in the mountains away from the tourists,allowing you to enjoy the peace and quiet of rural Spain.

However it is ideally situated for seeing and doing things however a hire car is essential.

We can not wait to make a return visit and have no hesitation in recommending the location and the villa. If you like walking then this again is a lovely place for that and you may even see the golden eagles soaring around in the sky and if you are lucky you may spot the hedgehog

We bought this property because it is well away from the stress of normal working life!

Special interest holidays:

Self guided walking from the main entrance straight out to the Sierra de Estancias. Large scale maps available. Bird watching, cycling, horse riding, quad biking. A neighbour does private painting lessons by arrangement. Another neighbour does sculpturing and mosaic workshops. The owner does full body Reiki treatments.


Nearest beach Villaricos 1&1/4 hour drive.


Almeria airport 1&1/2 hours drive. Murcia or Granada airports 2 hours drive. Alicante airport 2&1/4 hours drive. Car hire recommended. Directions provided.
