We are a couple from New Zealand and after many trips to Europe decided to move to the UK in 2003. We have always wanted a home in France and coming from a seafaring nation decided that Brittany with it's marvellous coastline was the place for us. So in October 2010 we purchased Le Roc St Vincent in Dinan, an old stone house with 2 cottages attached. Since then we have completely refurbished Albertine and Jasmine to a very high standard and a now ready for guests. We love Dinan with all it's wonderful old buildings and history, the lively port is a great place to wander along stopping for a coffee or a drink or for a meal in one of the many restaurants. We offer our guests a warm welcome so come visit us and join us for a BBQ on a hot summers night!
Robyn Hogan purchased this cottage in 2010
We bought the property for it's proximity to the sea, the friendliness of the locals and the ease of commuting from England.
We enjoy just being able to walk to the many shops, restaurants, port and roaming around the Ramparts of Dinan.
May 2011 It has been really wonderful to find such a beautiful little house, with it's picture-book garden filled with perfumed roses and the sound of birdsong, a real tonic in our busy lives. The lovely furnishings and thoughtful welcome basket filled with good things was much appreciated.David & Carole.England
July 2011 A wonderful Gite with all the extra's, light shines in every corner, excellent host, Robyn certainly knows how to make our stay very special. The garden is a touch of Monet, just fabulous. We will recommend to all our friends.

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely little house in this lovely little town. Dinan is so magical and this house absolutely enhanced our stay. As mentioned in earlier reviews, Robyn is the perfect host. We flew to Paris from the U.S, rented a car and drove to Dinan all in one day. By the time we got to Dinan, (10pm) we were frazzled and exhausted. Robyn came to meet us to guide us to the house and the free nearby parking spot. As soon as we got to the house our stress just melted away. There was a bottle of wine, fresh muffins, milk in the fridge, tea, etc. We slept like babies in the very comfortable bed. We explored Dinan walking up and down the hills and the ramparts. We took the bikes out for great rides along the river. We ate superb food. We drove out to San Michel and St. Malo and were blown away by the gorgeous, empty beaches. We have not been so relaxed in years! We loved that we did not hear many people speaking English here. It made us work on our French and we found the people in Dinan exceptionally kind and tolerant of our clumsiness with their language. Waking up in this little cottage every day, having our tea out in the garden, having a little visit by Robyn and her sweet little dog Molly.......heaven, pure heaven.
Such a pretty place with beautiful, relaxing gardens (one being a "secret" garden, accessed up a spiral staircase, which, was very relaxing, especially with the melodic chimes hanging from the tree. The gite was very welcoming and spotless, with crisp clean bedding. Robyn went out of her way to make us welcome (as did Molly, the cutest, friendliest little cockerpoodle!). Location perfect to explore Dinan and also easy to get down to the Port, where we cycled along the river. We very much appreciated the bottle of wine and homemade raspberry jam and the "double helping" of raspberry muffins.
Excellent the only drawback is that you'd want to spend the whole time in the lovely garden rather than exploring the local area which has got lots to offer.
We stayed in Robyn's beautiful gite for a week. It's simply stunning with the most picturesque gardens set in the prettiest location. Robyn has thought of everything you might need and more. She is unobtrusive but on hand for any advice on places to visit and for information about the local area. She met us at the train station and guided us back to Albtertine, where we were greeted by home made muffins & a bottle of wine. We will definitely visit here again as Robyn and her little dog Molly (who is a real show stealer) made us feel like it was a home from home.
Our host Robyn arranged to meet us at the railway station in Dinan as it was our first visit and we were driving.
On arrival at Albertine we found the cottage to be spotlessly clean. Robyn had left us a bottle of wine, home made muffins and preserve. It felt like a home from home as we had a vase of fresh flowers cut from the garden and candles in the fireplace. It was a bonus being able to use the BBQ and eat in the garden.
Robyn was very helpful giving us advise on where to eat out and places to visit .
The cottage is ideally situated between the historic old town and the port.
Overall we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
Thank you Robyn, Ross and little Molly.
We arrived in Dinan and struggled to find property as it is located down winding roads. However, Robyn came to meet us at the car and directed us. The cottage is amazing, you are immediately welcomed into the fabalous garden, which is very private. Robyn cannot do enough for you, explains everything in the cottage and giving us suggestions for places to visit and restuarants. The cottage is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic getaway. Car parking is easy, located 2 minute walk away. We travelled from the UK and had no issues at all. Th cottage has everything you need such as kettle, hairdryer, wifi etc. Robyn welcomed us with homemade cakes and a bottle of wine and rightly so, is very proud of her cottages. There are 2 gardens, so you can always fond your own space if you just want to be on your own. Highly recommended, would definately go to Albertine cottage again.
