Fantastic apartment wonderful views over Kalkan and out to sea panoramic views

I was in Kalkan in May and found the apartment had everything you needed , spotlessly clean and well appointed .the bougainvillea was stunning

The shops and restaurants were short walk away

Perfect in every way

This was our first visit to Kalkan so we were delighted to have found this wonderful apartment to stay in. The location was very convenient, within easy walking distance of the town which meant that we didn't have to get taxis home like many others staying up the very steep hill! Many wonderful restaurants nearby - our fave food was at Chillies and also lunch on the Sunset boat trip.

The apartment was lovely, bright, clean and contained everything we needed includiing wifi which was much appreciated by our teenage girls. Very comfy beds, unrivalled views, AC, lots of DVDs, washing machine and the water cooler were just some of the best bits. There are several pools and beachbeds are allocated to each apartment so that you always have one when you need it. We had a wonderful holiday here and look forward to our next one in Kalkan - will definitely stay at Terry and Brenda's apartment again and would highly recommend it.

location, location ...

If you are looking for an apartment in a peaceful area, overlooking Olive groves, with outstanding sea views beyond. In a well maintained complex with a choice of pools ... And all within 5 minutes walking of the main town and sea ... Papattya apartment will be difficult to beat!

The owners had arranged a taxi from the airport and on our arrival to the resort, we were met by a local company. It was 10pm, we were hungry and not really into exploring the town. So we headed for the closest restaurants, only a couple of minutes walk away. We only got as far as Chillies restaurant, they made us welcome, even though there was only one other table!

The owners had supplied a welcome pack, so we didn't need to hunt down supplies. Although, had we needed to, there is a small supermarket only a few minutes away, open until midnight.

We found the apartment to be spotlessly clean and well supplied with crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. There is also a water cooler, but in the downstairs shower room?

The main bedroom, although quite small, had a very comfy bed and pillows ... So important!

The photographs don't really do this apartment justice. It is very light and airy and the balcony with dining table is wonderful. It was where we spent most of our time ... Enjoying the views and watching the boats!

The management team are very good. A lady who has lived in Kalkan for many years, arrived the following morning. She was very informative. Her restaurant recommendations were very good, she drew us a map of banks, bakery, supermarkets etc. She even helped us with the Turkish language! The cleaning ladies arrived mid stay of 12 nights. Were very friendly, polite and discreet.

A lovely holiday in probably the best location in Kalkan.

The Jewel of Turkey

Our second visit to Kallkan and to the same Apartment was not a disappointment at all. The listing was extremely accurate and the facilities and location were just perfect. The views from the balcony were amazing and the location is what drew us back for a second visit. With a family it is an extremely safe enviornment and one which we throughly appreciated. The property was clean and maintained to a very high standard. The owner took great care in adding additional bedding etc. for our 5th guest for the first week, which was comfortable and thoroughly appreciated. They also kindly booked our cabs for departure from and to the Airport which took the stress out of the journey. The Managers at the apartment came and introduced themselves to us and were efficient and knowledgeable.

We would and have already recommended this property friends and will continue to do so.

Activities and attractions in the area are the amazing restaurants, of which there are many, especially Moonstone Restaurant owned by a British lady and her husband. The service was outstanding as well as the food and was extremely accommodating. Boat trips in the bay were Sunrise 2 and Sea Bella Junior - great food, information from the crew and small groups of people - only 12 per boat - Perfect!! Captain of the Sea Bella Junior was a complete star and retrieved my daughters glasses from the bottom of the sea. Hero!!!!

There was nothing to dislike about our 2 week return holiday to Kalkan and this amazing apartment. We are looking to booking it up again and enjoy another throughly enjoyable holiday.

We fell in love with Kalkan on our first visit 15 years ago and began our search a couple of years later. The moment we scrambled up the unfinished stairs to this duplex and saw the breathtaking views we knew we had found our dream home.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary


Kalkan harbour and beach are a 5 to 10 min stroll down the winding streets. Turkeys famous Patara Beach with its 17 km sand is approximately 15 minutes drive away.here you can wander for as long as you want amongst the amazing Roman ruins which include the oldest light house in the world.This site is forecast to be a bigger tourist attraction than Ephesus and is well worth a visit on your way down to the glorious beach


Airport transfers or car hire from Dalaman, our nearest airport can be easily arranged as required.


Kalkan is ideally situated to explore many of the treasures that Turkey has to offer from the historic sites of Xanthos (45mins drive) to the beaches of Olu Deniz. Both historic towns of Fethiya to the west & the Kas to the east, are easily accessible.

Further Details:

The vibrant, enchanting, cobbled streets of Kalkan surrounding the ancient harbour are a feast for the senses. From boats to roof terrace restaurants, turkish coffee houses or street markets you will be spoilt for choice. All just minutes away.

It is only one and half hours from Dalaman airport by taxi or hire car and the village itself a very short walk away from the beach, village and superlative varied restaurants. We boast 5 pools and exquisite colourful gardens in which to completely unwind. The extra bonus is the private roof terrace from which we enjoy unrivalled views of both bay and the Taurus mountains plus the privacy of a separate upstairs bedroom and bathroom.
