About Christine Jubb

I moved to Moulin d'Arnac 15 years ago with my husband, and converted the old watermill into gites. Sadly my husband died11 years ago and I made the decision to stay here in this beautiful region of France . I've long had a love affair with France, and visited many times for holidays.I decided that I could offer comfortable and welcoming accommodation to fellow Francophiles. Most of my guests have returned numerous times and I enjoy meeting people from many different countries, all with different stories to tell. I am now very familiar with this region, and able to offer advice and assistance if required. Although I live on the premises, I respect the privacy of guests at all times and welcome families, and pets by arrangement. My own dogs are well-behaved and sociable.

Christine Jubb purchased this apartment in 2002

Why Christine Jubb chose Nonards

Quite simply, because this is the most beautiful place in France! The scenery is stunning, the climate is lovely and the locals are friendly. The villages are built of beautiful old stone, with hillsides green with trees and walnut orchards. The Corrèze is nowhere near as well-known as the Dordogne or the Lot, but the department neighbours both of them, and it's easy to visit the main tourist attractions of both departments (such as Sarlat, Lasceaux, Perigord, Cahors, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie etc).

What makes this apartment unique

The peaceful, tranquil and beautiful surroundings make Le Moulin d'Arnac a very special place to relax. The garden is a haven for wildlife, and many many birds, red squirrels and otters live here. You may well spot eagles, red kites or perhaps some wild deer and boar. The gardens are over 2 acres so there is room to play games or have a bit of peace without intruding on othert guests.

Our stay in the Millers House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Millers House, with our dog, a Cockerpoo called Nelly. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, in beautiful surroundings. We spent time relaxing in the stunning grounds, walking in the beautiful country side, and visiting Nearby towns including Beaulieu sur Dordogne and eating in a range of superb, and reasonably priced restaurants. Chris made us feel very welcome, as did, Rob and Brenda. Tom and I would definately recommend staying at Le Moulin d' Arnac, and we will be returning for further holiday

Owner's Response: We all enjoyed meeting you along with Nellie the Cockerpoo. Our Westie - Dougal was particularly pleased to have a Doggie companion as he usually has to play with our cats. The Moulin is perfect for well behaved dogs as the grounds are quiet and there are lovely walks around here. Most of the resteraunts are dog friendly so no need for them to be left alone when you go out sightseeing or for a meal. We hope you will return to explore the many beautiful villages and Chateau in the area and of course Rocamadour which is very close. Many thanks Chris

Chalfont St Peter

This was our second stay at this wonderful place. Last time we stayed at the Granary with our two boys but as they are getting bigger it was nice to give them a room each this time. The holiday was described by them as one of our best yet which is high praise indeed as we do travel a lot. The pool is perfect for whirlpools. The badminton played a big role in keeping the boys amused too. As the grounds are so big we were able to just let the children go off and do their own thing. They played rugby, cycled, swam (supervised by us), and we had great bbq's on the terrace. Chris could not be a more welcoming hostess she is just fantastic. The accommodation was perfect. Having a TV and DVD player meant we could have lie-ins whilst the boys watched some TV until breakfast. We also took advantage of the nearby shop for our morning baguettes/croissant etc. The town of Beaulieu sur Dordogne is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed kayaking down the river and strolling along the medieval maze of streets - all very pretty. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is our nearest town. Raoul, archbishop of

Bourges founded a comunity here in the year 855 he was so enchanted by the beauty there that he called it" bellus locus" or beau lieu which means beautiful place in English. Don't miss the architecture in the old town. Then there are restaurants and cafe to provide everything from a light snack and a beer to a serious meal with an interesting wine list or have a romantic dinner overlooking the moonlit river. Go for a boat ride on the Gabarre, the boats that used to transport wood to Bordeoux to make wine barrels. Be energetic paddle a conoe, have a swim.Go on an organised ramble. Visit on 14th July, see the fireworks, come on 15th ofAugust ,another special day.

There are banks ,Doctors and nurses, shops and just over the bridge there is a supermarket and petrol station
