About the Owner

We bought Côte rivière in 2011 and after a complete renovation, we created the beautiful, welcoming apartment it is today. In the last 5 years we have welcomed wonderful visitors from all over the world and met some amazing people along the way! We look forward to continuing to welcome many more guests and showing them the provence we love so much.

very very nice!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was clean, up to date and as pictured. Windows look out on the busy canal street that runs in front of the apartment. EVERYTHING is right there. Great shopping (especially the huge antique stores) , eating places, the town itself.

Natalie was a great host. We speak english, and she is a brit...so that was great! We were able to get parking right in front except one night when we used the included reserved parking across the street behind the food market .

It was still in the warm season, so we really appreciated the A/C. Nice kitchen and bathroom.

We spent 2 weeks in France, and this was our best "home base".

Be sure to visit the base of the river where it just springs from the ground about 10 miles away.

We liked this place, and our host a lot.

Wonderful Choice

  • 5 of 5

I should say straight up that renting the apartment for a week proved to be a really good choice. I will try to be concrete as possible in providing our reasons why my wife and I strongly felt this way.

The facility: The room is well presented. It is crisp, clean and airy. It works. Proportions of the studio room are good. There is a nice bathroom with an effective shower, the bed is comfortable and two chairs await your presence so you can sip your coffee in the morning or wine in the evening and while doing so enjoy the setting. Below you is a quiet small road and a portion of the river (the river splits as it moves around and through the island.) Beyond the river/stream is the busier road but the traffic noise is not obtrusive. If you find it so, you can easily shut the two sets of double windows and still enjoy the view. If you are lucky enough to be there on market day it sets up below and around you. I easily declare it to be the best market in all of Provence. The kitchen has enough of everything and the air-conditioning (which helps in the summer) is amazingly responsive. So the bad news is you walk up three flights of stairs to get there. The good news is that, upon arrival, you immediately know it was worth the climb.

The room is also well situated to the amenities of the town. Restaurants and shopping are short strolls away. (Upon your arrival you will find that the first day’s breakfast choices and the evening wine are graciously provided by Natalie.) The grocery store is maybe a two minute walk as is the secure parking. L’Ilse Sur La Sorgue is very well situated for people wanting to explore a good section of Provence and Luberon. We visited many places, and all within an hour’s drive or so away.

A couple of tips for the town of L’Isle Sur La Sorgue: Restaurants in France are not cheap. You can economize by buying at the market, the grocery store and the patisserie. After exploring hilltop villages during the day it is nice to return to flat geography. Lovely walks in the evening can be had around the island (turn right and go clockwise following the river) There you will discover the authentic French experience. For another walk by the riverside cross the traffic circle and go down Avenue de Portage des Eaux.

In summary the room was everything we hoped for; the town is exceptional and really nicely located. Natalie thank-you for everything including the regular email correspondence to ensure all was well. You are a gem.

Great apartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a really charming tastefully decorated studio apartment, ideal for two located centrally within a really vibrant town. The apartment exceeded expectations, was well appointed, clean and everything worked. Natalie was a great host, gave good insight into the town, and provided a useful welcome pack. It was HOT when we were there, and whilst the apartment seemed to be naturally cool, and the air-con worked well. This is a third floor apartment, so there are several flights of stairs, ideal for working off some of the calories from generous sampling of the local rosé. The town is great fun, and the local area a gem, a wonderful relaxing holiday, and the apartment is ideally situated to enjoy the town, wonderful location. We will be back,

Great location, great studio apartment

  • 4 of 5

Tastefully decorated studio apartment, within a really charming vibrant town. The welcome was great, and the apartment super value. It is a top floor apartment, so whilst there are great views you are faced with several flights of stairs. The air conditioning was efficient, but the apartment seems naturally cool even in scorching [glorious] sun. The welcome pack was useful, and Natalie was friendly and full of local info. We would certainly visit again.

A Lovely Apartment in a Gorgeous Town

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in L'Isle sur la Sorgue. The town is very elegant and interesting and makes a great base for exploring the area around. We were unfortunate in that the weather was very cold but it was lovely to come home to this lovely, cosy, heated apartment.

We found the apartment small but it catered for our needs. There are lots of restaurants close by, a supermarket and boulangerie.

Thank you Natalie for a wonderful week.

Fab!

  • 5 of 5

I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely apartment in L'isle sur la Sorgue. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and we had a fantastic week.

The apartment itself is bright, welcoming, spotless and has excellent facilities. It is on the 3rd floor and has a fantastic outlook over the river and the town. It is a perfect spot for visiting the many beautiful villages and towns in Provence....even though some days it was hard to drag ourselves away from sitting drinking wine and watching the world go by from this great vantage point!

The town of L'isle is full of restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours and has a really good market twice a week.

The owners have provided everything to make your stay comfortable and even provide welcome provisions.

We would definitely like to make a return visit.
