Facilities

From the Owner

The holiday homes, which the couple are continually developing, are self-sufficient in energy and water. The houses and Eco Arks have been built using as many local resources, artists and crafts people as possible. The Wild Spa area has a wood burning sauna and hot tub, a cold bucket shower and relaxing Sanctuary Room - great for star gazing with a glass of something at night. Everyday there is animal feeding when guests have the chance to meet our menagerie of farm animals, and collect eggs from our chickens. There are safe play areas for kids including a climbing frame and green play area with lots of space to ride bikes, etc.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Rooted in an ancient landscape, but built to the highest energy efficient standards, our two exclusive holiday homes blend the old with the new, mixing natural materials and bespoke furnishings with technology and innovation. The properties have extremely high levels of insulation, triple glazing, under floor heating, solar panels and wood burning stoves. Our kitchens have been individually hand made by local craftsmen. The living spaces are coloured with feather filled sofas, rich hand woven curtains and cushions, warm wool rugs and wood burning stoves. Throughout our accommodation, we have on show art, craft and willow work from local artists. Each cottage has its own individually designed private garden or courtyard area and all of them have amazing views of the rugged landscape. On a clear day you have views for up to 20 miles. Each cottage has a selection of outdoor dining furniture and barbecue facilities. Dogs are welcome. Outside: Little White Alice is surrounded by 29 acres of our own land which is overlooked by Carnmenellis hill. The houses are in an enclosed area with lush gardens . Outside this little haven, we have our Wild Spa area with wood burning hot tub and sauna. A two acre copping wood is being created near the entrance to the farm and our 12 acres of heath land will be maintained as a natural wilderness to promote wildlife. The site is teeming with birds, rabbits, foxes and moles, bats and other wild life which we want to encourage and support alongside more domestic animals. We have built a barn owl house and a bat loft to encourage the brown long eared bats to roost. We have also created a number of bird feeding stations to support our feathered neighbours. The alpacas, ponies, chickens, sheep and pigs have now arrived to join Marley, our black Labrador, and Bonnie the farm cat.
