A well maintained, tastefully and comfortably furnished villa offering everything to make your stay just right. Roomy, light and airy, it benefits from a gentle cooling breeze off the sea. 5 minutes walk and you will be in the village where you will find bars, cafes, shops and restaurants offering excellent local produce. Walk along past the marina to the port and see the catch being unloaded and the fishermen mending their nets. The Saturday morning market is a must. A 20 minute walk along the promenade takes you to Torre del Mar where you will find even more choice. During June, July, August and September there are festivals to enjoy and the night market is well worth mooching around. The Baviera Golf Course is 5 minutes away by car and the Axarquia (area of natural beauty) a tranquil haven of countryside right on the doorstep.

About the Owner

Hello, my name is Gill and I live with my husband Paul here in the Axarquia. We retired here 4 years ago due to Paul´s arthritis. I used to run a B & B in Dorset and Paul was a wall and floor tiler. He can turn his hand to just about anything and is therefore able to do any maintenance to our property - a very handy and talented chap to have about the place! We can recommend places to see, things to do, and where to eat. We would not recommend somewhere we would not go. Paul and I are very proud of our house and are sure you will be very comfortable and happy staying there. Hope to see you.

Location

Initially we purchased this house as an investment/holiday home. The first time we viewed it we loved it and that was that, we bought it. We have never regretted it and when we sold up in the UK we lived in it for 10 months. Don´t tell Paul, but I would move back there tomorrow I like it so much. There is a lovely feel about Caleta and the people who live there and it is so close to everything and the weather is lovely all year round.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 45 Kilometres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes walk brings you to a safe sandy beach and a promenade that stretches from Torre del Mar to Torrox Costa.

Travel:

Malaga is the nearest airport and it will take 35 minutes along the A-7 / E-15 / N340 to reach Caleta. Directions are a doddle. Car hire is strongly recommended and we can can supply details of an exceptionally good local company who will do free airport pick-up/drop-off if you hire a car for at least 7 days. Otherwise their normal taxi charges are very reasonable.

Distances:

By car: village - 2 minutes, Torre del Mar - 5 minutes, Nerja and the famous Balcon Europa - 20 minutes, Lake Vinuela - 20 minutes, *Sevilla - 1 hour, Granada (including the *Alambra Palace) - 1 hour, *Fuente de Piedra (flamingo lagoon) - 1 hour 45 minutes - *Cordoba (Spanish Inquisitions - *save it for the cooler months) - 2 hours, Sierra Nevadas - 2 hours. Malaga - it is recommended you take the bus.

Further Details:

Should all this not be enough then locally there is fishing, go-karting, bowling, Aquavelis (water park) and the El Ingenio shopping mall. Caleta itself has everything you will need e.g. banks, chemist, tapas bars, great restaurants, butchers, bakers, internet cafes etc.

All bookings to be made by email. A non refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. The balance will be due no later than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday. Also due with the final balance is £100.00 as a deposit against loss of keys/breakages/damage. If all is okay after your return home we will refund this amount in full. Please remember to take out adequate travel insurance.

Changeover Day:
Arrival time - after 4 pm.
Departure time - no later than 10 am
We do not stipulate a day for arrivals/departures as we appreciate cheaper air fares can be any day of the week.

  • We have not signed up for the new direct booking on line system. This is because our holiday renters are important to us and we prefer the personal touch and being contactable very quickly for questions and information. Please note: I always reply very quickly to enquiries. If you do not receive an email from me please check your trash/junk box as it is more than likely your security settings are set on High and therefore not receiving unknown mail. The pools are generally open April through October. We have provided 6 new loungers for the exclusive use of our guests. Due to 3 years hard use we had to replace them. They are not for use as trampolines! The tennis court is a minute's walk away. Bedlinen and house towels supplied. All guests to provide own beach/pool towels. Every year we do maintenance and make upgrades to the property. We installed a wood burner for 2016 and have fitted sun awnings over the terrace.
