The apartment is situated on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. 3 bedrooms, two of them with direct access to balconies, the 3rd located on the mezzanine. Spacious and nicely furnished. Situated in newly built residential complex with swimming pool in Sirmione. Private 50sqm terrace with dining and lounge area directly outside living room and kitchen, overlooking the pool area. 5 min walk to beach, restaurants and shopping. A nice walk or bike ride to the old town of Sirmione. 20 min drive to Verona, 10 min drive to Peschiera and Desenzano del Garda.

About Grethe Knapstad Fossen

I live in Oslo, Norway with my two children. We have been travelling to the Garda Lake area for vacations for nine years and have had our own apartments there since 2006, so we know this area pretty well.

In August 2010 we finished a two years stay in Desenzano del Garda, this had been a dream for several years. Last fall we purchased this apartment in Sirmione - which is our third apartment in this area. We love this is area because of its great beauty. The easy access to the lake and beaches in the summer and the mountains for skiing in the winter.

There is app. 20 towns situated around the lake, and all of them have their own personality. We especially love Desenzano, where we used to live, Sirmione, Bardolino, Lazise, Salo, Riva and Peschiera. We love the area.

We have had apartments in this area since 2006. This is our 3rd apartment in the area. We love the Garda Lake area because it is very beautiful and easily accessible by car, train and air travel.

The closest airports are in Verona and Bergamo (Orio Al Serio). The apartment is only a 20 min drive from Verona and 45 min. from the Bergamo Airport.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the apartment because it is spacious, has high ceilings and is airy and open. The easy access to the big terrace with its lounge- and dining area overlooking the pool.

The beach is a short walk from the apartment, and the area offers a lot of nice restaurants and shops.

The apartment is located only a few minutes walk from the Garda Lake. The Sirmione peninsula is very narrow with the lake and the beaches visible on both sides of the road when you are going towards the old town of Sirmione. There are several beaches close to the apartment, beaches in the old town of Sirmione and several beaches on the Garda Lake just a few minutes driving distance away as well.


The closest airport is Verona, only a 20 min. drive from the apartment. Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo is a 45 min drive away. There are train stations in Desenzano and Peschiera, both 10 min. drive from the apartment. Airports in Venice, Bologna and Milan are app. 1,5 hrs from the apartment.


Desenzano del Garda and Peschiera are both 10 min. drive from the apartment. Verona 20 min drive. Milan, Bologna and Venice app. 1.5 hrs drive. Gardaland, Italys No 1 Amuzement Park: 25 min. drive.

Notes on accommodation: No pet allowed. Outside: The large terrace has dining table and a beautiful lounge area. The shared swimming pool is right outside the apartment. There are two deck chairs belonging to the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linens are included. Beach towels are NOT included. The property will be washed after each tenant, not during tenancy. Other: Underground garage for one car.

Lovely apartment

The apartment was very good indeed. The outstanding feature is the South facing patio area which is huge, with a choice of sun or shade, and from which it is very easy to keep an eye on children in the pool. The pool is beautiful and a good size and we had it to ourselves most of the time.

The location is in a quiet residential area and is really in Colombare which is on the road that runs around the lake. This means easy access to other towns and to local shops and restaurants which are a 5 minute walk. The road the apartment is on is a small cul-de-sac, so there is no through traffic.

The old town of Sirmione is a 5-10 minute drive up the peninsula and very popular with long queues for parking by 11am - the best time to see the huge Roman villa at the far end is 8.30am when it opens. Sirmione is naturally beautiful but overdeveloped. A 10 minute drive away is Desenzano which is very attractive with its own castle and Roman remains and piazzas and is a lovely place to soak up the atmosphere in the evening.

There many trips and activities on and around the lake, and Verona took about 30mins to the city centre. We had hired a car (the double garage underground was great) but if not would have used the boat service on the lake more.

Please contact owner for rental requests. 50% of the rental price should be paid upon reservation to secure the period. The deposit is also paid as a guarantee for the furniture/content and will be returned in full within a week after the tenancy is finished as long as the apartment or content is not damaged. Time of final payment will be determined with each rental period, depending on season.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time is 3pm. Departure time is 10am.

50% of the rent to be paid when signing the contract. The last 50% is due 30 days prior to the stay.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
