Coast/Beach:

Lindos has 3 popular beaches and you will soon find your favourite. The main bay consists of a long sweep of golden sand fringed by fabulous restaurants and seafood tavernas and the other side of the bay has a smaller beach, known as Pallas Beach also with fantastic tavernas and a small supermarket. The other side of the village has a bay known as St Pauls - an idyllic sandy and rocky cove with a small beach taverna and a whitewashed chapel at the water's edge, famous for weddings in Lindos.

Travel:

Flights arrive into Diagoras Airport (Rhodes) which is approx 50km from Lindos and about 45 minutes in a taxi.

Private taxis can be arranged to bring you to the ancient amphitheatre close by or to Lindos Reception. Lindos is pedestrianised and so cars are parked on the outside of the village.

There is a taxi rank in the main square and a free bus that shuttles to the main bus station.

The famous Lindos taxi is the donkey which will take you to the Acropolis or to Pallas Beach.

Distances:

The villa is in the centre of Lindos old village and so all amenities are right on your doorstep.

Pefkos is 5km away - a popular beach resort with more great restaurants.

Lardos is 5km away - a traditional Greek village where life centres around the square.

Rhodes Town - 50km the capital of the island with the Grand Masters Palace in this Medieval walled town, blended with the new town with its designer shops and Mandraki Harbour - the home of yachts and cruise ships.

Further Details:

Lindos has several supermarkets for all of your daily needs, a local butcher and a bakery plus a bank and 2 ATM machines to keep your holiday purse topped up!

Many of the restaurants are found on the rooftops or in old Captains Houses and are the highlight of dining out. Lounge bars and cocktail bars are often part of converted traditional houses and still retain their original charm and character (with more charm and character added by the local barman.

Plenty of shops displaying their colourful wares can be found in all of the alleyways leading up to the famous landmark of all, the ancient Acropolis. Dating back to the 4th century BC, this awe inspiring citadel is well worth the walk up to enjoy the view from the top.

For the adventurous, you can indulge in water sports from the jetty at Pallas Beach or take a cruise on a glass bottom boat to the cliffs of Navarone where the Guns of Navarone was filmed many years ago.
