The 200-year old house is full of character and occupies a prime vantage point on the edge of the charming hill village of Moissac-Bellevue (600 m), looking over a wide valley. The fountain at the centre of the village is a short walk from the house, and narrow, cobbled streets lead to the 12th Century Templar chapel where the views extend from Mont Ste-Victoire to the west and the Maures mountains to the south. It is a serenely beautiful spot to enjoy the quintessential Provencal landscapes, but also offers a perfect base from which to explore the rugged Gorges du Verdon, as well as the nearby Lac Ste-Croix. Surrounded by oak forests of the National Park of Verdon, this part of Haut Var is also famous for its black truffles and abundance of wild boar.

Lou Brou de Flous is a large, impressive house in typical French style, set in the quiet hilltop hamlet of Moissac Bellevue. You can relax in the garden whilst listening to the birds delightfully singing away. Breakfast on the terrace is lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped and wifi an added bonus. It is a great location for exploring the surrounding areas of Provence. The Gorges de Verdon and Lac St Croix a mere 15 minute drive away is a definite 'must do'. The coastal towns are all within easy travelling distance. There is a supermarket in Aups, about 10 minutes away, for all your holiday necessities. Moissac has a Bistro Le Pays which is very reasonable and has pleasant views over the surrounding countryside. You can be as busy or as quiet as you like from this location.

Traditional house in a beautiful village
This is a beautiful spacious traditional property in a typical French hillside village that has been cared for and upgraded and offers all the facilities needed for a comfortable relaxed stay. Both the owner and the housekeeper provided us with a first class service. The balcony and the garden are particularly nice features. There are plenty of lovely places to visit and eat within a short distance and the lake 20 minutes drive away is stunning and great for water activities or to swim. There is a bistro in the village less than 5 minutes walk away with exceptionally friendly staff, first class food served from breakfast to dinner and delicious fresh croissants and bread to take away. The hotel nearby is pricey but a delightful venue for a special meal. We plan to return.
A lovely unique house.
Having been to this area several times over the years and staying in Aups we thought we would try one of the surrounding villages. This house was a great find - a village house in a quiet location with no neighbours! AND a garden where we could relax in the sunshine, unusual in a village location like this.
Parking is on the road right outside the house, again unusual for a village location and it made it easy to unload all the suitcases and shopping.
The house is really quirky inside and was very clean. The balcony is a great place to relax in the sunshine and gets the sun all day. It was very, very hard to leave to go out!
We particularly loved the big main bedroom, it has a huge bed and beautiful French windows letting in the Provencal sunshine. The "His and hers" sinks were very much appreciated!
Catherine (the owner) was very helpful and responded promptly to all our questions.
The village itself is very pretty and quiet, has a great restaurant and a lovely walk to a chapel at the top. The views from the chapel are stunning and we saw some beautiful sunsets from up there.
We would definitely stay in this house again and would highly recommend it for a relaxing break in a quiet village location.
REALLY NICE HOUSE IN SMALL HILLTOP VILLAGE
The house is full of character and spacious. The kitchen has all necessary appliances, all in good working order. Bedrooms are good with fans provided if it's hot. TV and WiFi provided. Outside great for BBQ. The garden is quite large with an outdoor jacuzzi (though we didn't use it!). Everything was fine and as per description.

The house is in beautiful location and is large and charming. It was very comfortable. We especially liked the huge upstairs bedroom.
All the practicalities were well arranged.
A lovely house in a tranquil and beautiful setting, within easy reach of the Lac de St Croix and the Gorge Du Verdon, as well as many interesting towns and villages. Booking and all arrangements were very well handled.

“We love the medieval village of Moissac-Bellevue perched atop a hill and with a panoramic view of Var which sweeps as far as Mont Sainte Victoire. Its exquisite little Templar chapel and campanile are a delight, and the village exudes serenity. I was quickly smitten by the 200-year old house with its huge wooden beams, and tiled floors dappled with sun-light, and with a different view of the Provençal countryside through each of its windows. We were attracted by the proximity of the Lake Sainte Croix with its water sports, as well as the other nearby lakes along the fabled Gorge of Verdon. Although the coast is only an hour's drive away, our village is a haven of peacefulness and tranquility.”

Outside: The garden has a lawn and paved terraces on two levels. The upper terrace has a built-in barbeque as well as a separate kettle barbeque. There is a table and seating. The lower section has a mosaic tiled sunken jacuzzi shaded by a pine tree. There is also a fig tree and lavender. There is a selection of garden furniture, including a sun-bed, comfy chairs and cushions and a sun parasol. The garden is walled which affords privacy.
