Villa in Empuirabrava, Costa Brava, 5 Minute Drive To Fantastic Beaches, shops and restaurants

Large detached villa, offering ample accommodation for 6 people. Private pool with large terraces. All outside tiled surfaces are non slip for safety. This villa is fully alarmed, secure parking within the property courtyard. Located within the exclusive residential marina of Empuriabrava, often described as Europe's largest residential marina. Easy access to beeches, shops, restaurants. The nearby town of Figueres offers the world famous Salvador Dali Museum. Two excellent golf courses within 20 minutes to half an hour's drive. Other amenities close by include, water park, horse riding, wind surfing, sky diving. This part of the Costa brava has something for everyone.

PERFECT LOCATION FOR OUR FAMILY

If we came back in this property with our family for the second time and without enquiring for any other, it had many reasons. First of all, and very important: the very good contact with manager Margaret. She was very helpfull and provided us with an extraordinary customer service. But also the property itself is well maintained. It meets with all our requirements and gives enough space for our 3 generations. The neighbourhood is quite and peaceful. The garden and pool are also well kept. Large mooring place. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend and we will most certainly come back here. Ann Van Schependom

Ok-ish

Despite the villa suiting our purposes in that a mooring is available, the villa itself, unfortunately, is somewhat disappointing, taking account of its cost. It is a “serviceable” property and nothing else. On arrival the entertainment facilities did not work along with a number of light bulbs and surprisingly for a self catering facility no cleaning materials, other than some hop cleaner and a sponge/scourers and dustpan and brush are provided. There is a “defunct” fridge freezer in the garage and during our stay the toaster packed up, this was replaced immediately. Outside we were advised the previous guests had left a small cheap barbeque, implying no barbeque was available prior to this. During our stay the electric gates failed (electrical surge apparently which merely required the circuit breaker to be switched back on) and it was a constant battle to get in and out of the property as none of the UPVC doors opened or closed with ease/correctly, we were advised not to use one set of doors due to this. On the day of departure the door mechanism on one of the downstairs bedrooms failed locking one of our party in the bedroom for an hour and a half, the door was finally crowbarred opened by the owner of the letting agency. The area is friendly, however, a number of residents/visitors have dogs, nothing wrong with this at all; however, it was noted that the outside of the villa had been used on a few occasions for the relief of said animals generating a number of flies. There is a requirement to leave a substantial deposit on the property and I was surprised to be notified upon my return home that the deposit had been returned less a fifth of the deposit for damage to a key, this had not been advised prior to departure!!!!!
