This beautiful house is situated in a very peaceful area with commanding views of the surrounding countryside and the snow capped Pyrenees beyond. The property is within the hamlet of Lutilhous yet is only 5 minutes drive from junction 15 of the A64 motorway. The thermal spa at Capvern-Les-Bains is just a few kilometres away where the water is said to have magical properties. The house offers extensive accommodation for up to 12 people holidaying together, making it ideal for large families or groups of friends. Within the house is a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge, 5 bedrooms and a mezzanine with double sofa bed. There are 2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets. A superb private pool can be found at the back of the house and large gardens all around the property would be more than enough to keep children occupied. Open fields adjacent to the house provide some excellent and very scenic walks in the countryside.
Internet access is available at the property should you need it.
Married couple with a young son (and a dog), resident in the UK.
Tracy purchased this house in 2010
A lot of time and energy was spent by our immediate family in finding the house. It is located in a beautiful location, but at the same time has excellent transport links to major cities such as Pau, Biarritz and Toulouse. The immediate, and wider family will visit the house during the year, but at the same time we are happy to let the property to others seeking a relaxing holiday. The house is managed locally by a professional company, specialising in property management. We look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards.
Stunning views of the Pyrenees. Quiet location, though only 5 mins from main A64 motorway. Design and space that the house provides. Great location, Toulouse, 50 Mins, Biarritz, 1.25 hours. Local Town, Lannemezan, 5 miles (supermarkets, cafes, restaurants). Spa Village, 2 Miles, Capvern Les Bains. Skiing, St Lary Soulon, 30 Mins, La Mongie, 45 mins, Col de Tormalet. Spain, 45 mins, Barcelona, 4 hours.
The house was like a mansion. There were eight of us staying together but we felt that we had lots of space. The gardens were lovely and we had fun in the pool - Charlotte Russell and family, August 2011.
We had a wonderful week staying at this delightful house. The weather was fantastic and it was great to sun bathe by the pool and admire the spectacular views. Brian and Margaret Rodley September 11.
February 2012 - Very cold winter outside but the log burner made the house so cosy (along with the central heating). Skiing was great fun at the nearby slopes - Bridget and Richard White.
The house is comfortable, well furnished and equipped, and spacious. It has a nice atmosphere which made us feel at home, also because nothing is locked away, and the interaction with the owners was nice and pleasant. The location is <very> quiet (when mowing the lawn the neighbour came to say he was "désolé" and offered a bottle of wine...), allowing total relaxation. It is easily accessible: the highway is very close (but you can't notice it at all as it is over the hill). Railway station at 3 Km (access to TGV via line to Toulouse). On bright days the view of the Pyrinees mountain range is fantastic. The garden is much larger than anyone needs and the pool is fine. In case you plan to come with more than 5, expect to align who showers when, as there is just one (and a bubble bath, in a separate bath room). The area is very nice with various landscapes, places and activities nearby.
We absolutely loved our stay here and can recommend it to anyone!
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday for two weeks in August 2015, with lots of sunshine.
The house was lovely and big. It was so clean and welcoming with plenty of room for our party of ten. The kitchen was really well equipped with a large dining area.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful, ideal for long walks. During our two weeks we visited Lourdes, San Sebastian,St Lary-Soulan and many other local attractions. It's an area with so much to see and do.
We enjoyed the house and area so much so we are returning for two weeks in August of this year. Hopefully the weather will be just as good!!
This was a beautiful get away house with everything you could need inside and out. The interior was tastefully decorated with everything you could need. There was lots of space for us all to chill out in. The outside was equally spacious with a good sized pool. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery. The location was so peaceful and perfect for getting away from it all.
I would definitely recommend
We returned home recently from a wonderful holiday in this lovely home.
The weather was good to us overall - rain one night and a couple of overcast days. The fact that it wasn't boiling hot meant that we felt more inclined to get out and explore the area which is so incredible.
The house was comfortable and clean with all the equipment we needed. My eldest son particularly liked the Jacuzzi bath and is missing it hugely!
My husband and I slept in the room with the balcony upstairs. The day we arrived was a bit overcast and we thought the mountains looked alright - what was all the fuss about? When I woke up the next day and opened the window to see that the cloud had lifted I was stunned - that view will stay with me forever.
The pool was fine and my youngest son especially enjoyed it although it is a shame that it is so shaded in the morning and never really did warm up - no exaggeration when the pool is described as refreshing!
Lastly, the owner was very helpful with the booking process and with all of our dealings.
Three girlfriends and I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing holiday at the property earlier this year in June 2014.
We enjoyed eating al Fresco on the terrace and lazing by the pool and sundeck with stunning views of the mountains. There was plenty of space, clean fresh linen and all the facilities we needed to cook, relax and chill out.
The nearby market has a variety of stalls and is well worth a visit. We also took a trip to Lourdes which is only a short drive away.
This was my second visit to the house, the first being 2 years ago on a family holiday with another family. On that occasion we sampled the water sports and local leisure facilities. The kids had a fantastic time. This region has so much to offer and the house is a comfy convenient base.
I hope to back next year!
We holidayed in this beautiful house for a week in August. There were 11 of us with my extended family but we felt that the house was very spacious with lots of living accommodation and we were never under each others feet.
The pool was brilliant for the children (5 in total). They were never out of the pool which was great. The weather was so good that we all needed to cool off in the pool from time to time.
The surrounding countryside was beautiful and there was plenty of outdoor activities including white water rafting and kayaking.
The parc de loisiers close by was excellent with a great choice of rides, pony riding, boating lake with pedalos and bumper boats.
It truly was a magical holiday and we enjoyed ourselves immensly

This property is perfectly located for cycling groups with access to the mountains and a number of stages of the Tour de France including Col D'Aspen and Col du Tourmalet.
Coast/Beach:
Biarritz with its excellent beaches, restaurants and bars is approximately 120km from the house. This equates to about one and a half hours by car.
It is a surfers paradise and has always been one of France’s most welcoming towns. A century ago the little whaling town became a fashionable summer resort that, through the years, has stayed open to the outside world without ever losing its identity.
Open and cosmopolitan, Biarritz, the pearl of the Basque coast.
Travel:
Nearest airport is Tarbes-Ossun-Lourdes, 25k away, approx 30 minutes.
The airport at Pau is 60k, approx 45 minutes and Toulouse is 95K, about an hour. If you are flying in then a hire car would be required from the airport and to get you around. You can get a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao and then it`s about a 3 hour drive. The euro tunnel is quick, taking just 30 minutes but the drive down from Calais takes about 10-11 hrs. The drive from St Malo is 8-9 hours but the ferry crossing is 8 hrs.
Distances:
The nearest village - Capvern les Bains (2 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk). Nearest town - Lannemezan (5 minutes drive). Lourdes - 25 minutes. St Lary Soulon - 30 minutes. Tarbes - 20 minutes. Toulouse - 50 minutes. Biarritz - 1 and 1/2 hours. Spain - 50 minutes.

There are 2 lakes - La Plantade where fishing is possible and the leisure lake la Demi-Lune where there are pedalos, a luge, carousel, pony rides a train, bouncy castle, small deer, goats, ducks and swans to keep the children amused. Lannemezan has a great market every Wednesday and is a fabulous place to meet people and stock up on local wine, cheeses and other produce. You can find local red or rose wine for a euro a litre and its the same wine that is used by many local restaurants - take your own containers and join the queue. The local Brebis cheese can normally be found nearby and you can try before you buy.
St Lary-Soulan - plenty to do and see in this typical Pyrenean resort. It is here that you will find access to every possible outdoor pursuit including walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, bird and wildlife watching, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, canyoning, white-water rafting, parapenting, motorcycling, swimming in mountain lakes and rivers, exploring the numerous caves in the area, or if you prefer, just sightseeing.
The Aquensis thermal spa in Bagnères-de-Bigorre. This is considered by many to be one of the best spas in Europe and is certainly worth a visit.
The thermal spa at Capvern les Bains is also well worth a visit and as mentioned before, the water has anti-crystallizing, anti-infective, anti-spasmodic and analgesic properties. The water at Capvern is consumed in moderation as a natural drug to act on the disorders of the urinary and digestive, metabolic diseases and rheumatology so soak up the virtues of water and feel reborn.
