We cannot wait to welcome you! Cape Town is an amazing place, and we invested in our little home there just over a decade ago. Having searched long and hard for the perfect apartment and location, we've never doubted that we hit the jackpot from just about every conceivable angle. No other part of Cape Town gave us the same range of possibilities: accessibility on foot of shops, cafés, parks, restaurants and museums in both the most stylish quarter of town, Kloof Street (5 minutes leisurely walk away) and the bustling hub of city culture of Long Street and the traditional African Green Market (a further 10 mins on foot), the historic Malay quarter (10 mins walk), a short and easy bus or taxi ride to the cable car station for Table Mountain (5 mins by car) and an equally undaunting ride to Cape Town's paradise beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton (10 mins by car). The beautiful Waterfront, overflowing with culture, shops, eateries, pubs and traditional African live music is also a short drive away (15 mins by car).

If you want a perfect taste of where we are, search online for the video for Jonas Blue's song "Perfect Strangers" which was all shot in and around our part of Cape Town.

Once you've decided to come to our property (we'll be delighted of course) you will receive some automated emails which might look like circulars, but actually will contain vital information about how you gain access to the property, so please do read these carefully.

We do request that our guests leave the property as they found it, tidy and clean, which helps us to cut down on professional cleaning costs and in turn allows us to keep our rental prices low. However, if you are in true holiday mode and want to avoid the hassle of worrying that everything is left perfectly at the end of your stay, you can request cleaning is carried out by our team for the charge of £70 / € 80 / ZAR 1000 in advance by bank transfer or Paypal or in cash on arrival. Please let us know as soon as possible if you decide you would like to take advantage of this.

About Jeremy and Lorraine Millington

We are an Anglo-Irish family who have been living in La Rochelle since 2003. We run holiday accommodation here, in a super town for tourists and those seeking to get away from it all alike. In addition, we are musicians and sing, write and play together in a band called The Portraits.

This pic was taken during a recent trip of a lifetime to India, and really got into the spirit, clothes and all!

Why Jeremy and Lorraine Millington chose Tamboerskloof

The Bagamoya apartment was purchased as a holiday home by my mother Diana in 2001. It was a place for her retirement, to allow her to return to the city in which she had spent her childhood, and to which she had never returned until the fall of apartheid in 1994.

We are now running it for her at times when we are not lucky enough to be in Cape Town ourselves - we try and get down at least once a year.

What makes this apartment unique

Benefits for us are primarily location, space, light, views - it is truly a place to relax and soak up the atmosphere outside, even when you are just on the balcony relaxing with a beautifully chilled glass of Cape White wine, listening to the music (often quite literally) of Africa breezing through the trees towards you. The apartment contains 2 bedrooms (both containing double beds and one with an additional single bed) and an additional sofa-bed in the lounge for a further two sleepers, so it can comfortably sleep three couples and one more single person.

Notes on accommodation: The gated residence, Bagamoya, includes secure parking if you were to rent a car, although you can easily manage the city on foot. Bagamoya is a modern residence comprising 12 apartments. Ours is on the 2nd floor with a bright and airy lounge/diner with practically 180 degree views day and night of Table Mountain. Two spacious bedrooms, a bright, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and bath, and a stunning balcony with views to die for, not to mention satellite television and free WIFI internet access – you have all you need here to make the most of a brilliant city. Despite our proximity to a very exciting part of town, you'd never guess it once you're at home - Tamboerskloof is a calm, family-oriented part of town, with a lovely playground and park just across the road from the apartments, ideal for a picnic (we recommend a picnic there accompanied by Robertson's Cape Champagne)! Our place works on all levels. Whatever you are coming to Cape Town for, you'll be at home! Outside: Balcony table and chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, as is a clean, although we do ask people to leave the apartment as they found it to cut down on cleaning costs and in turn keep the rental prices as low as possible.

Nice apartment in quiet location

This is an apartment with a view on Table Mountain, with a nice kitchen that has everything one needs for preparing a nice meal. It is quiet and in a good location, though it is a bit steep uphill when you have shopped your groceries!

Wonderful accommodation

This was a great accommodation. The view was stunning, and it was conveniently located. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. Off street parking was limited and too small for our large vehicle, but there was ample parking on the street. The apartment is up several flights of stairs, and there is no lift.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our honeymoon. Waking up daily to the sights of Table Mountain and at times a fresh southern breeze from the Ocean. We are used to AC (fan only) so we slept with windows open. It was comfortable enough. Everyone was very hospitable at the apartment before and after checkin....
