Penthouse Apartment in Hacienda Del Sol, Benamara, Nr. Estepona, Costa Del Sol, Spain - Peaceful Location, 5 Minutes Walk To The Beach And Amenities, Secure Gated Luxury Complex In The Sun

This modern penthouse offers 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms plus additional WC, lounge, dining room and kitchen. It also has a large roof terrace (solarium) as large as the apartment plus 3 additional balconies with seating areas from the lounge and dining room and second bedroom. We have only used it as our own holiday home for the last 4 years, so it has retained its new feel. It is equipped with all the things you will need whilst on holiday such as Sky TV, DVD player, Ipod docking station, BBQ equipment, Jacuzzi hot tub bath (amazing rooftop location), sun loungers. The property is situated adjacent to the 5 star Crowne Plaza hotel and the 5 Star Marriot Resort. Many good restaurants within walking distance (Beach location too), ranging from Spanish to Lebanese to Thai. Located on a major bus route between Estepona and Marbella, both less than 20 minutes away. Within walking distance you have the villages of Guadalmina and Cancelada and the town of San Pedro De Alcantara.

Hello! We are Tony & Kellie Sharp. We have a son who is 5 years old and a real entertaining little man!

We also have 2 Papillon toy dogs, Alfie & Barnie, who now enjoy living in Spain. We decided to make the move to Spain in August 2014 and we have never looked back.

We chose Hacienda Del Sol having holidayed in the area for over 10 years. Our parents have property nearby, there are superb golf courses to hand, the climate is the best in Europe. The Spanish way of life is very relaxing, their cuisine is superb, and this coastline has all the creature comforts we are accustomed to in the UK.

This luxury development is totally secure, and allows complete peace of mind to switch off from the outside world....a stroll to the beach, a stroll to numerous restaurants, a short bus ride to manic Puerto Banus.

We simply love being here to enjoy the rewards we put into our work in the UK.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location.....

This development was highlighted by a famous UK TV programme as offering the very best combination of facilities.

On the Costa Del Sol, we were advised to stay away from the large resorts, and head for the New Golden Mile, where we found tranquility, luxury, quality, and a beautiful climate.

This Penthouse offers the best property of its type in the area, built by Realia to a very high standard (think solid marble floors, Roca ceramics and aircon, Hans Grohe bathroom furniture); we were amazed that the entire flat roof was a solarium, so installed a jacuzzi hot tub to complement the brick-built BBQ. It is not overlooked, so you are free to dress as you please.

Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach mean we do little driving over here.

Very usefully, there's a new Aldi next door

The apartment is very good: spacious, well equipped and generally clean.

The grounds of the complex are immaculate: the downside of this was that there was an almost constant noise of mowers, hedge trimmers and leaf-blowers. While we were staying, for 3 consecutive days, an angle-grinder was in use for many hours each day just below the apartment. Not too relaxing!

The main road along the coast (directly behind the complex) really does cut the resort (and many others along the Costa del Sol) in half. Some information about travelling to local resorts would have been useful. In some cases you had to get on the dual carriage-way and go a junction or two in the opposite direction and then turn around to go where you wanted to. There were no road signs indicating this and it must be a problem that everyone staying here would encounter if they are driving.

The many swimming pools look absolutely beautiful. However, be aware that there are some very 'fierce' lifeguards ‘protecting’ them. The pool areas were extremely quiet with plenty of loungers and parasols available but you were not allowed to float quietly on a lilo, rubber ring or woggle - even if the pool was completely empty. Two adults gently throwing a small inflatable ball to each other were very loudly told-off. We saw several families literally shouted at for inadvertently breaking the rules. I think this is quite an important detail to be aware of before booking a holiday as for some holiday-makers this could be a big part of a Spanish ‘pool’ holiday.

(We were told by some people, who owned an apartment in the complex and who rent out their apartment, that some full-time residents are unhappy that there are holiday makers coming and going in the complex and therefore ensure the rules are rigorously enforced - much to the embarrassment of many quiet, well-behaved families.) It made for quite a tense atmosphere around the pool for a large part of the holiday.

Two extremely secure underground car-parking spaces come with the apartment but do not hire a large car – you will not get it in!

The two 5 star hotels very nearby mentioned in the details do not accept non-residents for drinks or dinner during the high season. You cannot get past the security gates. This might be different at quieter times of the year, though.

Taninos restaurant and bar is well worth a visit - even the teenagers in our group were impressed.

Penthouse with a view

We have just come back from our stay at the apartment and it was fantastic. We arrived two hours late due to flight delays and Kellie was lovely and took time to show us the basics and then left us to catch up on much needed sleep. The pictures do not do the apartment justice, it was beautiful, spacious, very clean and had everything you could possibly want or need. The rooftop was the icing on the cake though, competely secluded with plenty of seating, sunbeds and the hot-tub for watching the sun go down. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough and am already planning our next visit so thanks Kellie and we will be back!

Outstanding apartment in quiet location

This was our second stay at this fantastic apartment which has all the comforts of home and more. On arrival it was, as last time, spotlessly clean, with a warm and informative welcome from our host. The apartment is very well furnished, with comfortable beds, and a kitchen with all the appliances you would need. The roof terrace is something else, with a huge area to lounge in, in sun, shade or hot tub, and 360 degree views. Our only minor niggle was the slightly temperamental Internet based TV service, which eventually caved in. However within minutes of us contacting him, the owner had pulled as many strings as possible to get it sorted and it was back up and running in less than 24 hours, with no further issues (are you watching, BT?). The pool was very clean and quiet, if a little fresh! The rest of the public areas seem well maintained with pleasant gardens and planting.

About 5 mins walk across the footbridge is the Corner Cafe with friendly hard working staff - we would recommend for a light meal - as well as a well-stocked if pricey supermarket. There is also a further choice of restaurants either across the footbridge or a 10 minute stroll through quiet streets towards Estepona. 5 mins further on across a second bridge is a very child-friendly bar with play equipment and 5-a-side pitch attached.

The bus stops are very handy for Estepona or Marbella, the buses do seem to run about every half an hour, though we found the timetable to be mostly a waste of lamp post. Puerto Banus harbour (15 mins bus and 5 min walk) and beaches a must-do. All in all, a fantastic holiday.

Since we know the area well, this was just a relaxing holiday for us so we did not venture out all that often. Other than into Puerto Banus as the kids like going to Hard Rock Cafe & Route 66 for lunch. We mainly spent our time at the pool which the kids loved and it was never that busy which was great no problem getting a sun lounger.

The apartment itself was lovely, very comfortable, everything you could possibly need and having beach towels was a bonus. We made good use of the hot tub just sitting with a glass of wine watching the sun go down was fantastic, and the views from the terrace were gorgeous. The whole family had a great holiday, hope to be back soon.

Notes on accommodation: The property has marble floors throughout. We have free WiFi with a password should you require it. There is centrally controlled air-conditioning and heating throughout the property. There is also a wood burning fire in the lounge that creates a lovely warm ambience in the cooler weeks. The bedrooms can be made up as twins or doubles depending on your requirements. There is a secure underground garage accessed by electric gates with parking for 2 cars. A private lift takes you directly to the Penthouse door. This tropical garden complex is fully gated with 24 hour security. This has created a safe environment for children to play throughout the day. There are also some pedestrian gates around the complex accessed by key only. The property is located close to Puerto Banus, Marbella and Estepona and is well-served by buses every 30 minutes. You can stroll to a beach bar in 5 minutes. Outside: The gated community of Hacienda Del Sol has beautiful manicured tropical gardens with several large swimming pools attended by lifeguards in Summer. There are ample sun loungers and parasols, with showers & WCs. There is also an enclosed toddler pool, making it very safe for children . There is a fully equipped gym with sauna, accessed by swipe card, and two paddle tennis courts. The sandy beach is less than 5 mins level walk away accessed by a path. Here you will find a children's play area and 2 beach bars overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Sun longers are available to hire. Our roof terrace is as large as the apartment and offers ample space for sunbathing. The BBQ offers Al Fresco dining (table & chairs for 6) under the stars when you fancy a relaxing evening at home. By day, there is a comfortable love seat (a sun lounger with canopy for two people). The added luxury of a warm jacuzzi bath (seats 6) means you can sip champagne and watch the sun go down behind the mountains.... Utility Room: Outdoor terrace drying area accessed from the kitchen. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen, bath towels and beach towels are included. The property includes a drop off of new linen and towels if your stay is longer than one week should you require it(please note that as the apartment is self catering we do not provide a maid service) Other: An outstanding feature is the large roof terrace (some 90m2) above the entire Penthouse, with private jacuzzi for 6, love bed with canopy for 2, 6 sun loungers, dining table seating 6, large parasol and Brick BBQ.
