Having three double bedrooms and an open-plan living area adjoining a large terrace, the apartment is an ideal base for a family, a group of friends or a couple - just relax at home on a comfortable lounger, swim in one of the three beautiful pools on site, or use it as a base to play golf, to walk, to go to the beach or to visit one of the many attractions in the area. The apartment is light and airy, with excellent views from all rooms - to the hills behind and, to the front, across the village and fields to the Mediterranean. The sunsets across the sea from the terrace can be amazingly beautiful. All the rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans, and have been furnished to a high standard in a simple, contemporary style. Children are welcome; baby equipment is provided free of charge if requested. Autumn through to spring are excellent for golf, walking, bird watching and climbing. Climbing crags are nearby.

About the Owner

We paid a deposit on the apartment in March 2008, after spending some very happy holidays in Cyprus and having decided that Paphos was our favourite area. We didn't plan to move to Cyprus so soon but from October 2008, for four years, my husband was the Project Engineering Director at Elea Estate. Our permanent home is a bungalow in Anarita, just up the road from the apartment. We also spend time at our house in Binfield, Berkshire. I am a retired librarian and my daughter is an events manager back in the UK. I enjoy tai chi, swimming, reading, gardening and walking. I love the Anarita countryside, the flowers and the birds and I'm happy to lend my books to you while you are here. My daughter is a very keen rock climber and can recommend the best local crags.

"We spent the last two weeks of September in Anarita Chorio at the Penthouse of Judith and Alan Cartwright. Thanks to the excellent directions from Judith, it was no problem for us to find our holiday apartment, which is about twenty minutes away from Paphos.

The bright and spacious penthouse was spotless clean. All the appliances and the air conditioning worked without problems and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could want. We really loved the place and felt at home in this lovely apartment and especially enjoyed the large terrace with a beautiful view over the land to the sea. The colorful sunsets enchanted us every day anew.

We do recommend the penthouse in Anarita Chorio to all those people who like to be a little away from the big tourist centers in a relaxing and beautiful surrounding".

Brilliant 10 night stay x

I have just returned from an amazing 10 night stay with my family, which includes my 19 month old grandson. The apartment was equipped with everything we could possibly need, and more! My grandson was well catered for with books and toys. Having all the linen and towels provided was a definite bonus! The pool area was clean and we'll maintained. We were very lucky to have most of our stay the pool to ourselves! We really enjoyed our stay and the vicinity is great as it's not too far away from Paphos and the beach. Thanks again to Judith and Alan We will definitely be recommending to our friends x

Fabulous Baby Friendly Apartment

We've just come back form a week in this fabulous spotless apartment in a great location with great views.

Travelling with 2 small children (a 2 year old and a 7 month old) is always going to be a challenge but Judith and Alan went out of their way to make things easier. They provided a walker for the baby, toys, beach toys and books as well as a cot, complete with bedding, and a highchair. Touches such as a beach umbrella and cool bag were much appreciated as well.

As we were unable to get a hire car organised immediately, Alan even took us to the supermarket on the first day!

The apartment was spotless, even though we had only booked at the last minute. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return soon.

Fabulous Spring Holiday

We had a fabulous holiday and thoroughly enjoyed staying in such a modern complex. My boys (11 and 13) made good use of the pool. The apartment was clean and well equipped and perfect for self-catering. Alan and Judith were very helpful and supplied us with wonderful notes on how to use everything, where to shop, dine and places to visit. April is a glorious time to visit with all the spring flowers and not as hot as the summer months. The apartment is only 10km from Paphos, easy to access the beaches and a quiet location. We hired a car and were able to explore the West Paphos region and went up the Troodos Mountains. We would definitely recommend other families visit and would love to return ourselves.

A lovely relaxing holiday

Stayed at the apartment with family, including 4 month old grandchild. Great for all 3 generations. The facilities were really good with comfortable beds, a cot and other equipment provided for the baby and a pool just below the apartment. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. With a hire car we were able to explore the local area and Paphos. There are good sports facilities nearby at Aphrodite Hills and Elea for my husband, who plays tennis and golf, as well as a good choice of restaurants within walking distance. Would particularly recommend Olivia in Anarita village for a special meal out. Mostly we cooked at the apartment which has everything you need for self-catering. The owner, Judith, is particularly welcoming and answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend for a family and would have no hesitation in going back as a couple or with friends. A really good location for anyone wanting to stay away from the tourist hotspots and enjoy something of the real Cyprus.

Baby friendly, great location!

We had a wonderful stay in the apartment with our 4 month old baby. The apartment is gorgeous with lovely views of the local area from the spacious balcony, is superbly equiped with modcons (Wi-Fi, TV, films, books etc) and, most importantly for the baby buggy, has lift access from the car park area. Judith and Alan kindly provided us with toys and all the baby equipment we needed included a crib, change mat and some toys to entertain our little one!

There are plenty of rooms with individual beds for a family with children and loads of storage to put things away out of reach from little ones! The rooms are cool in the hot weather although there are fans if you need. We felt secure on the balcony area with the baby but with older children, it's simple enough to close the doors to restrict access.

The information folder provided was really useful and packed with tips and pointers of things to see and do, although we mostly took advantage of the quiet pools in the complex (there are 3 in total, with steps and shallow areas) and went to various local beaches.

The location of the place is perfect, no more that 10-20 mins from beaches and the airport, close to Paphos and there are local restaurants and markets in walking distance. We will definitely return with little ones and friends in the future.

Location

From the Owner

What we love about this area is the open countryside so close to the airport, the coast and to all the amenities. The Paphos/Larnaca/Nicosia motorway is only 3 km away and traffic is so light that driving is very enjoyable. We can see the sea from the apartment and on most of our journeys; it has different moods that we never tire of photographing! We have been made very welcome in the village and are happy being part of the community here. Paphos is only 15 minutes drive and we visit regularly for shopping, eating out and concerts. When we chose the apartment we knew that we wanted somewhere quiet, with good views, with attractive swimming pools and gardens, that we could walk from and enjoy the countryside. We are delighted that we found Anarita as it has all of these things.

Coast/Beach:

There are several places to swim within 15 minutes' drive of the apartment. The beach used by many Anarita residents is Timi Beach about 10 minutes away. Here there is a beach cafe with great views in both directions along the coast and crystal clear water, where you may be lucky and see a turtle. The unspoilt coast at Mandria, also 10 minutes drive away and is great for walking. Further away are Pissouri to the east and to the west Geroskipou, Paphos and the popular sandy beach at Coral Bay.

Travel:

Paphos airport is 10 minutes drive away. Year round flights come here from all over the UK and many places in Europe. Larnaca airport is 75 minutes away along the motorway with flights to here from Europe and the Middle East. Car hire is recommended from one of the many providers serving the airports to make the best of this rural location.

The apartment, Anarita, Paphos town and Paphos District have something for all age groups and for different interests within a party. Some of the party can play golf, while others swim, laze quietly on the beach / by the pool, visit a World Heritage Site, play tennis or go to a spa. In addition to this, it is an excellent area for walking, playing tennis, bird watching and rock climbing. As a family we enjoy all of these things and are happy to answer your questions about them.

There are hundreds of tavernas, cafes, restaurants and take aways in the area. In Anarita itself there are five within walking distance; one of which has a new outside play area for children and is one of our favourites when grandchildren come to stay.

Mandria, six minutes away, has an attractive village square with five more eating places to choose from, including an excellent taverna and a Cypriot fish and chip shop.

We live in Anarita and we have plenty of recommendations for places to eat in Geroskipou (10 minutes) and Paphos (15 minutes) - places for special occasions, places for a drink with a view, typical tavernas and for a budget conscious family meal. The Harbour in Paphos is one of our favourite places to go, have a meal and watch the world go by.

The highlights for visitors who enjoy historical sites are the Paphos Archaeological Park with its amazing mosaics, the Tomb of the Kings in Paphos and the Roman remains at Kourion. In addition there are many smaller sites, monasteries and churches.

Children of all ages (and their parents!) love the Paphos Waterpark and the Paphos Bird and Animal Park. There are all sorts of sea trips leaving from The Harbour in Paphos.

Aphrodite Hills is a beautiful five star resort nearby with a spa, children's play area, tennis, golf and many restaurants. Guests from outside the resort are welcome.

A beauty consultant in the village gives a full range of treatments at reasonable rates.

There are Anarita/Paphos buses.

The quiet village environment is an excellent base for your visits to the hustle and bustle of the busier tourist spots in the area. If Bar Street in Paphos suits some of your party while others want a quiet drink on the terrace, you have a choice! With comfortable terraces, three pools to choose from and tavernas just round the corner you don't have to leave the village if you want to stay home while others go sightseeing or play their sport. My husband can help you with your golf arrangements, I can help with tennis and my daughter with climbing. We have young grandchildren so we know where they like to go and we are very happy to lend you equipment, toys and books. Anarita is pretty and unspoilt, the sun usually shines and the apartment has everything you'll need for a happy holiday.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment was new for the 2011 season, in a development that opened in 2010. Most of the units are town houses grouped around one of the three pools. There is just one apartment block at the top of a gently sloping hillside site, surrounded by countryside, with our apartment facing south towards the coast. The gardens are well landscaped and there is a small play area for children with swings and a roundabout. The apartment has a dedicated covered parking space next to the front door of the block. Outside: The outside areas are a feature of the property. Facing to the south, off the main living area, is a large roof top terrace with 270 degree views of hills, fields, trees and the sea in the distance. You can see the planes landing at the airport but you can't hear them as the flight path is out at sea. Sometimes you can see the cruise ships go by. A dining table with 6 chairs, 2 comfortable loungers and two large parasols make relaxing and eating here a pleasure. Facing east, is a small covered terrace with a table and two chairs, ideal for quietly reading or just enjoying the view. There are three large shared swimming pools (15 x 13m, 16 x 8m and 16 x 11m) with loungers and umbrellas and surrounding landscaped areas. These pools have shower and toilet facilities. A few metres north of the site is open countryside where you can take pretty walks in any direction. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and bath towels are included. Please bring your own beach towels. Weekly change of linen and towels.
