Apartment in Almerimar, Andalucia, Spain - 6 Minute Walk To The Beach

A luxury apartment, situated 6 minutes from the unspoilt beaches of Almerimar. Within easy reach of 3 Golf Courses, internationally recognised 18, 21 and 9 hole options. Allocated underground parking lot, electric security gates, secure fully heated swimming pool on site, with life guard (open during season July - September)*. Beautifully furnished and with mosquito guards to all windows and patio doors though we have not had a problem with mosquitos it is a nice touch. Large relaxing patio overlooking the Nature Reserve where you may see flamingos, parrots, and we have seen nesting birds of prey. One twitcher saw 39 species of bird! Binoculars provided! Sierra Nevada mountains are 90 minutes drive away, and you can see them easily. Walk a bit further from the beach along the promenade to enjoy Almerimar town, where you will find relaxing restaurants overlooking 3 marinas packed with boats and yachts of all shapes and sizes. Food is fantastic, the real Spain, or if you want an English bar there is the Stumble Inn for exampe there too. Local agent to handle all your queries and key collection, very friendly locals many expats will be happy to chat and help out.

Hi I live with my two sons in Brighton, England. I work full time as a recruitment consultant within pharmaceuticals and clinical research. Having been a midwife my interests have always been in medicine and sciences. My partner is a fireman, and we love getting away to Spain when we can. Long term I would love to spend equal time in the UK and winter in Spain. I hate cold! In my spare time I sing in a duo, and you never know you might see me in the bars in Almerimar one of these days!

Why Stella Daniel chose Costa de Almeria

I chose this apartment in Spain because it is not too far to go if you fancy a quick getaway! The area of Almerimar I love because it is stil fairly unspoiled. This apartment I fell in love with when I saw that the views are peaceful and overlook the Nature Reserve. Birds are one my my hobbies, and I have left some binoculars in the flat just because I think it is really interesting to watch them closely, nesting and flying etc. So far I have seen a family of owls, and a nesting pair of prey birds ( not sure which ones!). I want people to enjoy the flat, the area, the peace and the local people are so very friendly. Lots of English ex pats A good old english bar CK's if you fancy it, and lots of real Spanish restaurants, where the Spanish love to eat, a good sign!

What makes this apartment unique

This is a brilliant mixture of peace and beach holiday and or Golf if you love it, or perhaps your partner is a golf fanatic, while you and the kids skip off to the beach. 6 minutes and you are there. 1 minute and you are in the warm beautiful, safe pool with the guard there for your peace of mind. Lots of families enjoy this area. Everyone is friendly. The apartment itself is luxurious and fully equipped, I think we have thought of everything, even DVD's and CD's for the evenings, no laughing.... we want you to enjoy the flat, Almermar and the surounding areas, and want to hear what you think so that we can make it perfect for everyone. We hope you come back!

Just wanted to let you know that we are really happy with the apartment. It´s lovely and spacious and what a sun terrace and view. You also have good taste, everything is perfect. We have met with Peter of course and we have arranged to see him on Sunday when we leave. Thanks you so very much for organising the let on such short notice, we really do appreciate it, and no doubt we will be in touch again whenever we want to return. We are having a great time, have met up with old sailing friends, three other couples, who like ourselves have given up the cruising and are now on terra firma. The social events between the yachties that are still here and the ex-yachties is as good as ever so we are enjoying the night life as well as the glorious hot weather. Many thanks once again.

Great apartment and equiped as advertised

Agent met us on time and as agreed, even though it was the afternoon of New Years Day. Wonderful view over the wetlands to the deserted beaches from the stoep. Saw many kites and other rapters in the mornings.

It was a great 7 days break of warmer days and especially nights from the normal winter coolness of our Casa in the hills north of Velez Malaga.

We are definitely hoping to go back for another week before our winter ends.

lovely property with great views, in a relaxed and local town.

We wanted to go to somewhere that was quiet and off the beaten track a little (not your brits abroad type of place!) and this place was perfect! The accommodation was great, we loved sitting out on the balcony for some sun downers after a hard day on the beach (although would say the beach is a 10-15min walk) whilst watching the flamingos in the near by nature reserve, and then wandering into town later in the evening.

The location was great for this and ideal for what we were looking for.

Great place and would visit again.

Spanish Idyll

Hello Stella, I'm sorry I meant to email you much sooner. We really enjoyed our two weeks in your apartment. Very nice to have the morning sun coming in and it was very spacious. We had good service to and from the airport (John?).maybe a bit pricey? We elected not to hire a car and did everything on foot and by bus/coach. For me it was a bit of slog to the town and supermarket but we gradually worked out the bus times.not very frequent) and of course they are very cheap. We did one tour with Pepe's tours into themountains which was very good.. Ann swam in the sea. I was frustrated not to be able to 'get on the water' with all those yachts there. Your help with emails and directions was brilliant. The only negatives were that a Spanish family above made a lot of noise till very late, it was difficult to work out the tv, but its in Spanish naturally, we watched videos. I chatted to Mathew in 'Leos' was it about buying an apartment there but I think I am getting too old to commit now and you are never sure who to trust!! Thanks. Martin.

Fabulous location, views from the balcony over the nature reserve with its pink flamingoes to the sea beyond. The town is lovely, quiet with a great promenade, beach & restaurants. The apartment was home from home, very clean, very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed everything about our holiday. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, plus the tip don't have paella as an evening meal...huge portions!

Very friendly staff, and they have great nibbles. Kids very welcome until late at night and on Sunday they have a great spread of cream cakes and pastries by the way.......

What a Gem

What an absolute gem. Perfectly located, extremely large balcony overlooking a magnificent views of the sea and nature reserve. Apartment was kitted out with everything you could possibly need and was extremely large for a 1 bed. We loved the apartment, the views and the location. A short walk to a beautiful sandy beach, a large lovely marina with lots of small bars, restaurants and shops. Out of season (New Year) was quiet but places still open and lots of life about at the marina and restaurants. Great location, lots of lovely walks, sea air, loads of sunshine! ... definitely a place to return to. Can't wait!

Notes on accommodation: Wi fi now installed! Since early 2014 all English programmes ceased to be available on Freesat, so we had wifi installed. TV does now have English programmes as we have updated the TV with a stick, and you can get all your favourite soaps as well as up to the minute movies! Cost of wifi is covered each month for your convenience. A note about the pool availability - this is available during peak season only!! I can only stress this to you since I do not wish to disappoint or mislead. - dates vary so do ask the vendor but as a rule the pool opens in mid June through to mid September only. Closes in September and during winter. Dates of opening vary, please ask me. The reasonable prices reflect this but you may be lucky ! Outside: The apartment has a 22' x 18' patio with access from the lounge and the hallway. There is a full patio set, table and 4 chairs and two loungers so that you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst soaking up the peace and sea views.There is an airer provided for drying. The fully heated swimming pool is shared in the complex and accessed with pool key for renters/residents only but see notes above for opening times. This is a large double pool with safe shallow areas for the kids, and has a life guard at all times. Well supplied with umbrellas and areas to sit around the pool, it is a real pleasure to use. We have provided towels suitable for pool and beach use, as well as inflatables for your convenience and fun but none of these are allowed pool side. Also note no food and only water is admitted due to problems with ants.......... Utility Room: New washing machine is located in adjoining laundry area, fully tiled area with deep ceramic sink, a really useful addition to wash out all those sandy beach items! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided, double duvets, pillows x 4. Property will be cleaned at end of stay unless otherwise stated. For longer stays, please ask - additional costs may apply for cleaning/linen change mid stay, but towels / linen are in situ Other: The overall feeling of this apartment is one of space and light. We have now made the TV into a Smart TV with the addition of a stick which streams British TV, (soap addicts take note) and up to date Movies!
