This wonderful stone house was built in 2002 on the site of and in the style of the original bergerie or shepherds hut. It is simply and tastefully decorated throughout with character and style. The mature terraced garden with olive and fruit trees is secluded and provides total peace and tranquillity. The interior of the house is beautifully yet simple decorated with whitewashed walls, exposed beams and stonework, terracotta floor tiles and oak furniture throughout. Tiled luxury bath and shower rooms with rain showers. The fully equipped Provencal style kitchen opens out onto a dining terrace with a gas barbecue. The french doors from the cathedral ceiling living room open onto a shady dining terrace covered by a pergola. From the terrace steps drop down past lawns to the pool area.

Great stay!

Had a marvellous stay in this charming villa. The views are delightful and the area around the villa gave us lots to see and do. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a peaceful stay in a characterful house with all mod cons.

We chose this house because of the view, the surroundings, and the peaceful situation. it is near to all local amenities yet is not overlooked and is secluded enough for a truly relaxing vacation.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary


The nearest beach is Cagnes sur Mer (25 minute drive), which is a lively family friendly resort with varied beach facilities and very many restaurants. A little further afield (45 minute drive), are the larger resort towns of Nice, Cannes and Antibes. About one hour away are the sandy beaches of Mandelieu, La Napoule and Theoule sur Mer.


Nice Cote d'Azur Airport is the closest airport to the villa, about a 35 minute drive away. A car is essential, even though there is a bus that runs from Vence to Grasse. It stops a 5 minute walk from the villa.


The medieval village of Tourrettes sur Loup is 6 kilometres (10 minute drive) away. There are many restaurants, cafes, bakershops (for the breakfast baguette) and a weekly market. The larger town of Vence with even more restaurants cafes and excellent shopping is only a 20 minute drive. There are too many beauty spots and charming villages to list such as St Paul de Vence, Bar sur Loup and Opio, all within easy driving distance.

Further Details:

There are very good butchers, bakers and vegetable shops in Tourrettes sur Loup. There is also a cash dispenser, pharmacy, hair dresser and Tourist Office, as well as many art galleries restaurants, cafes and artisanal shops. There is now a good convenience store open 7/7 in the village.The nearest large supermarket is in Vence, where there is also a market twice a week.

  • Notes on accommodation: The property sleeps six adults, but all bedrooms are large enough to take a travel cot. No smoking in the house. Outside: The villa sits in 2500sqm of terraced mediterranean gardens with gravel paths. The lounge opens onto a large terrace with a wooden dining table and chairs, seating 8, shaded by a mulberry covered pergola. At the other end of this terrace by the kitchen is a round iron table and chairs and gas barbecue. The terrace borders the lawn which is surrounded by orange, mimosa and palm trees. There is a second terrace outside bedroom 1 with an iron table and chairs shaded by a very old oak tree. The pool, which is 10m x 4m, is on the next level down with a terrace and 5 sunloungers and an umberella. This terrace is bordered by palm and cypress trees and a huge fig tree. The garden is completely secluded and is not overlooked. The mature garden is well planted with local plants such as plumbago, lavender and rosemary. There is parking for at least three cars in the private gated drive. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, ironing board and all cleaning equipment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Hand, bath, tea towels are provided. Beach/pool towels are not provided. The property is cleaned weekly and linen changed fortnightly. Other: Guest cloakroom with WC and hand basin from the living room. Oak dining table in dining area seats 6 people.
