About this property

Charming 4 storey house, with roof terrace, within the ramparts of old Antibes.

This charming renovated town house is located on a pedestrianised street, within the medieval walls of old Antibes.

On the ground and first floor, there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
- One bedroom with twin beds and en-suite shower room.
- The other with a double bed and a separate bathroom, with bath.

On the third floor, is the kitchen/living area which is open plan with sofa bed, chairs and coffee table. It also has a dining table and chairs. There is a modern fitted kitchen area with large fridge freezer, oven/microwave and hob. Wooden stairs lead to the fourth floor sun-room and pretty terrace. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or meal with views over the roof-tops of old Antibes. There is a table, chairs, parasol and a small barbecue.
Our home has been sympathetically decorated using Provençal fabrics and French fruit wood furniture.

Within strolling distance of this picturesque street are local sandy beaches, the Marché Provençal- a daily bustling food market. The fortified Port Vauban- where luxury yachts and traditional fishing boats jostle for position. The house is perfectly located, close to the abundance of interesting shops, cafés and great restaurants.

Our house is 20 mins by taxi from Nice airport (or a convenient express bus ride). Antibes rail station is 12 mins walk and gives access to the coastal rail links, where you can travel to St Tropez, Nice Cannes, Monaco or even across the Itallian boarder for lunch. You can also visit the Medieval hill villages of Grasse - home of international perfume house and museum. St Paul de Vence-a fortified hill top village with the Matisse chapel. Biot - famous for its hand-blown glass.
Not suitable for infirm, wheelchairs or children under 7 years due to stairs.

The house that in this historic area of old Antibes there are restrictions on the Aircon boxes on the front of houses and I therefore have Dyson Air Cool purifying system.

This property is situated in the old town in a quiet street with easy access to the sea and the town. It is a dark old property with steep stairs which depending on your view in regard to "shabby chic "could have been described as needing updating for some .The umbrella on the roof appeared broken. The shower was good and the Dyson air conditioning was efficient. It was very difficult to find from instructions given to us previously, the route for walking from the railway station. What would have been easier would have been a clear map with obvious markers such as shops etc. We asked local people who could not help even with the name of the road, and tried to open the wrong door on one occasion .We eventually found someone who could assist us. The property as already stated was also very dark which was compounded by 2 sets of lights not working and light switches difficult to find in the dark. It would have been better that clear instructions should have been given about the location of light switches, one is almost behind the fridge freezer for example, before we arrived plus instructions left for appliances and where things were located such as the cutlery draw etc. We also found the settee uncomfortable .. A friend of the owner kindly called round the following day and found one set of light switches for us and could not repair the others that day . These were both on the top floor so we said to leave it for our stay.
