Villa near Vale do Lobo, Central Algarve , Portugal - Peaceful Location, Not Overlooked, Country Style Villa Full of Charm and Comfort

Our spacious and luxurious 3 bedroom country house is set in the 'Golden Triangle'. Located amidst orange groves only 10 minutes drive from Vale do Lobo and only 5 kilometres from a fabulous sandy beach. The property is close enough to the most popular areas of the Algarve whilst being far enough away to enable you to relax in a secluded place. The house, which has a private swimming pool is set in substantial, mature and beautifully maintained gardens, which are not overlooked. Though built within the last decade, the property was designed in the traditional farmhouse or 'quinta' style using reclaimed materials, including beams, pole ceilings and incorporating the bread oven, now housing a Masterchef cooker though! The house, which is also used by the owners, is beautifully furnished and kept in perfect condition.

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning is available by arrangement, as is underfloor heating. Pets are not allowed. The pool will only be heated by special arrangement and at additional cost. Pool heating is not usually necessary in the high season. Air-conditioning is included in high season but provided at additional cost at other times. Smoking is not allowed in house or garden. Outside: The property is located in extensive mature gardens, including its own orange grove. One spectacular feature of the lush gardens is a Carob (Alfarrobeira) tree believed to be around 500 years old. There is a cocktail terrace and a table and chairs in the shade of the tree. There are sun beds, umbrellas and other garden furniture around the pool. The pool can be heated (not normally necessary in high Summer) at additional cost. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included and the property is cleaned weekly. Linen is changed weekly. Other service can be provided on request. Other: This is a property that is believed to be unique of its type in the area. All rooms are spacious, and the property is furnished to the highest standard as a private home. Furnishings throughout were selected and by an expert interior designer.

A beautiful home from home

We stayed at this beautiful villa for ten days. The villa itself is conveniently situated to get to the beach, town or many of the tourist attractions in the area. You definitely require a car as the villa is in a residential area off the main road and not close to any form of public transport that I spotted.

We used the beach at Vilamoura (about 10 minutes drive away) as it has a wonderful sandy beach and the town surrounding the marina gives a great choice of restaurants and cafes for lunch.

Another good day out if you take a drive to ValedeLobo where again there is a lovely beach and check out a few of the 'side roads' on the way back to see how the other half live!

This is a lovely and spacious villa that really does provide everything you need - it does not feel like a 'holiday home' because nothing is missing, you have everything you require from comfortable and well furnished living areas to pegs and washing powder for your laundry! I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone wishing to explore this lovely part of Portugal.

Rural retreat

Wonderful authentic farmhouse in quiet location yet close

to amenities and coast. Meet and greet by the lovely Duncan owners agent. In addition everything you need to know about the area and questions answered in hand book provided by owners. The clean accommodation is comfortable and spacious and the pool is situated in well maintained grounds. All recommended restaurants were good and we particularly liked those that specialised in piri piri flavoured dishes which originated in the Algarve. Would definitely return again.

The house is 6 kilometres from beach known as Trefal or 'old Loule'. This superb sandy beach has a fish restaurant, parasols, sun beds and lifeguard supervision. This beach extends to Vale do Lobo and beyond, skirting the Rio Formosa national park, a noted conservation area for birds and plants. To the East, there are more of Europe's best beaches at Vilamoura and beyond. Vilamoura itself has a fine marina (with boat trip and deep sea fishing options) and many waterside bars and restaurants.


Around 15 kilometres from Faro Airport, which is well served by competitively priced flights from Northern Europe. Easy access to motorway and main line train station. Car hire can be arranged on your behalf.


Around 6 kilometres to beach, 7 kilometres to Vale do Lobo, 7 kilometres to Quinta do Lago, 1.5 kilometres to Almancil and 5 kilometres to Loule.

Further Details:

Tha facilities in the surrounding area are fantastic, as might be expected from in the 'Golden Triangle'. The villa is jut a few minutes from one of the best restaurants in the Algarve and also from Almancil, where there are said to be more than 300 restaurants of all kinds. The nearest supermarkets and banks are about 1 kilometre away.
