The Crow's Nest - A Cosy Village Cottage with Stunning Sea Views

Updated: 04-Oct-2016
Holiday Home in Cawsand, Nr. Kingsand, Cornwall, England - Detached Chalet With Stunning Sea Views Within A Charming Cornish Coastal Village

Cornwall’s forgotten corner. The twin seaside villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, on the Rame peninsula are great for relaxing and enjoying a memorable holiday. The chalet has a magnificent view over the sea towards the hills of Dartmoor - probably the best view in the village. The area has a great deal to offer and a week could easily be lost exploring the charming streets, walking the coastline, relaxing on the beach. Walkers are spoilt for choice and can pick up the South West Coast Path in both directions. Mount Edgcumbe’s country park starts at the top of the village and you can walk to the famous 16th century house and visit its beautiful gardens. Locally, there are five pubs, three coffee shops and a choice of places to eat in the evening. It is ideal for a relaxing romantic break.

A Magical place to stay

  • 5 of 5

For me, this was the perfect place for a relaxing break. The chalet is quaint and felt very secluded. An oasis of calm behind a green door! It had excellent facilities, bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had extras which you often don't see in self-catering properties like tea towels, washing up liquid etc. and the view from the terrace took your breath away!

The owner, Nick was excellent at communicating and sent specific details regarding the property and how to get there etc. I would not hesitate to return in the future and would recommend this lovely place to anyone.

Little cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Little cozy cottage on the top of the hill in Cawsand village with a wonderful view.

The cottage is clean and well equipped with everything we needed..

The landlord is very welcoming, pleasant and helpful, beginning with great directions to the cottage and helpful orientation folder with lots of useful information to when i had a problem with my car he immediately advised us of an excellent local garage.

Cawsand is nice little village with beautiful countryside and lots of lovely walks .

It is a quiet and relaxing place to be.

Please dont change anything and keep up the good work :)

Thank you for our lovely stay.

Peace perfect peace!

  • 5 of 5

I arrived on the Saturday and thought I was not going to like it, as it was down a darkly lit stairway ...... I put the code in the keypad thinking it was the front door, but that took me in to the decking area with the most beautiful view a secluded space for me to sit and read, enjoy the view or go onto the space below to sunbathe. The accommodation was small but clean, everything you could want for a peaceful stay in beautiful Cornwall, I loved it, did not want to leave! Had the most stress free two weeks and even adopted 2 monkeys from the Sanctuary near Looe. Lovely, would definitely recommend.

Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful peaceful and cosy location with gorgeous views over the harbour and plymouth sound.

Nice private and secluded patio area with lovely gardens.

Would recommend to solo travellers looking for a walking base as I was, or would make a lovely romantic break for a couple.

Crows Nest

Excellent place to stay, beautiful views. Nice accomodation - could do with a little spring clean to get rid of spiders webs, but on the whole lovely. Would highly reccommend.

Crow's Nest

Fabulous, bijou apartment. Tiny, but very well designed and perfect for two. High quality fittings & furnishing. But the star of the show is the fantastic view. Looks out over Plymouth Sound - stunning. Would recommend. One thing only could be improved upon - nowhere to store clothes or to hang wet clothes.

We had a perfect week - thank you.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 45 Miles Nearest Barpub : Halfway House, Kingsand at 100 Metres Nearest Ferry : Cawsand Beach Ferry to Plymouth, Barbican at 200 Metres Nearest Golf : Whitsand Bay Golf Club at 10 Miles Nearest Train : Plymouth Station at 25 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Five restaurants/bars/coffee shops at 100 Metres Nearest Ski : Plymouth dry ski slope at 25 Miles Nearest Beach : Village beaches at 50 Metres Car: recommended

We are a couple of minutes walk to the beach, close enough to sometimes hear the waves at high tide. The beaches are clean, with clear water, sand and rock pools. If you are prepared to walk for half an hour there are the stunning white beaches of Whitsand Bay which are the other side of this headland.

In the summer months a small foot passenger ferry takes people to and from Plymouth which is about a half hour trip. If you are coming by train then it is quite a nice way to arrive. The closest airport is Plymouth and then Exeter which is one and a half hours away and there are cross channel ferries which go to France and Spain.

We are within the village with all amenities. Plymouth although close as the crow flies takes about 45 minutes by car or you can take the beach ferry from Cawsand that runs from April to October except in strong winds. This will take you to the historic Barbican area from where the Mayflower set sail to America.
