Fab getaway house

Had a lovely week in Falmouth in this very comfortable and well appointed house. The location of the house is ideal and the views of the harbour are very time consuming! Sat for ages watching boats come and go and had a fabulous vantage point to see the fireworks display at the end of Falmouth week. The house was spotless when we arrived and we would highly recommend this holiday property to others. Its within easy walking distance of several beaches and the town and we caught the train into Truro one day from the nearby station. Train noise did not bother us but it is close to the railway line. Met the owner once and he was extremely pleasant and the neighbour is also very friendly.

From the Owner

We initially drawn to this property because of the feeling it had when we first viewed it. It felt like a home and gave off a very warm feeling. It is in a unique location in the town centre tucked away down a quiet lane allowing to forget you are in town. You can hear birds outside and not traffic.

Special interest holidays:

The coastal walks from Falmouth are outstanding. There are special boat trips to St Maws, up the estuary and many other beautiful destinations. Falmouth is one of the UK's premiere sailing destinations and the surrounding areas also offer world class watersports, diving and surfing to name a few. Falmouth town itself offers a range of quirky restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. On the cultural side a diverse range of live music and theatre can be found dotted all over and around Falmouth. It is an ideal base to explore both Falmouth and the rest of Cornwall. The Tate in St Ives, the Minnack Theatre, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan can all be found an easy drive way. So take your pick and I am sure you will find something that suits all the family.


No 4 is situated an easy 5 minute walk to Gyllynvase beach, a perfect family beach complete with life gaurds, beach bar and restaurant. Not more than a ten minute drive are also Swanpool and Maenporth beaches.


10 minute walk to the local train station. 30 miles from Newquay airport. 65 mile from Plymouth airport.


Pendennis Point and Castle are a short ten minute walk away and offer outstanding views of the bay. 2 minute walk to maritime museum.

Further Details:

2 minute walk to Tesco. Fantastic restaurants, fresh seafood can be found all along the high street. Rick Steins Fish and Chips is a 2 minute walk. 2 minute walk to other local bars and beaches. The new cinema is an easy 10 minute walk. The Poly is centrally located offering a space for local artists to exhibit their work, including a diverse range of films and plays.

From the Owner

Not only is it close town and all the local beaches. It is great to be able to go to the pubs/restaurants and not have to worry about driving home. Its a short five minute walk back to the house. As I have mentioned we came to Falmouth because of our love of sailing and surfing. If you love the open ocean and spectacular beaches and also want to be close to town. This location gives you both.
