About the Owner

Hello, My name is Eve. My partner and I built this unique property . We arrived in the area in 2005 and completely fell in love with it´s beauty and slow pace of life. Since then we have been using ecological and innovative building techniques to make sure we offer the best accomodation we can to those travellers savvy enough to discover us. During the olive picking season you will find us out on the land hand picking the beautiful oil filled drupes to deliver to the local mill where we press our single estate extra virgin olive oil. We have made a life for ourselves here on this patch of paradise with our two young children and we would very much like to share it. I hope to make you very welcome at some point in the future!

Kaitlyn Baptist from Toronto Canada:

We spent 10 days living together in a house built into the mountain side in Catalunya, Spain. That's right, a cave. There are not many ways to get closer to nature, than to literally penetrate it. Sleep in it. Sleep ON it. Sleep with it and literally feel its heart beating alongside your own. WIthout a soul for miles we danced our way through a week of meditation, yoga, silliness, culinary explorations and deep, subtle personal transformation.

Fabulous rural retreat! Stunning views and proper relaxation at this uber cool cave house.

  • 5 of 5

Casa Cova Blanca was as described on the website, but more breathtaking in reality. So peaceful and quiet, surrounded by nature, just blending into the olive trees, but an amazing piece of design inside. Driving instructions were perfect, with useful advice on where to stop for provisions in Tortosa. The accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed for the week of eco friendly living.

With our 5 and 8 year old daughters, we walked the hillside, discovered the secret tree house, swam in the municipal pool in Tivenys and ventured further afield to local towns and beaches.

Tranquility and peace in Spanish cave house

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have ever stayed. It was everything we were promised on the Owner's Direct website and more. Great place to chill out with a family. Our 6 and 4 year olds played in the rocks walls and all around the beautiful hillsides letting their imaginations run wild. Our winter escape was such a treat with the open fire and outdoor oven put to great use. Everything you need is here and we so appreciated the thoughtful design and self-sustaining feel of the house. We made beautiful food from fresh local markets, read books, listened to music, explored the local villages and towns in the area and thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay. A week is not enough! We will be back. Thank you so much for creating this lovely place and opening it up for travellers like us to enjoy.

Most beautiful cave we have ever seen, right in the middle of a olive groove.

  • 5 of 5

The way to the cave was really adventurous and we couldn't find the cave in the beginning. It was already getting dark.

But when we discovered the cave it was the best place ever.

Total tranquility, no neighbours for miles and a very clean place, with all the comfort you'll need.

We were welcomed by a bottle of wine, a bottle of olive oil and lots of fresh tangerines and oranges from neigbouring citrus grooves.

Futhermore the contact with the owner was perfect. Eve thank you very much, it was great staying at your place.

Secluded underground haven

  • 4 of 5

An unusual, beautiful, stylish and well maintained property in the heart of an olive grove. Peaceful, if that's what you desire, but also great for accessing nearby historic Tortosa, the Via Verde, Ebro Delta and the unspoilt beaches of the Costa Dourada. We also had a fab day trip to Tarragona and would love to return to this lovely place armed with better insect repellents. Exeter Littles

We absolutely loved our stay here - such a beautiful property in the most stunning and peaceful area. We were only here for a week, but could easily have stayed longer as there is so much to do in the local area - walking, swimming, plenty of excursions etc. we could have eaten at local restaurants, but chose to eat on the terrace at the property - really couldn't beat the setting and the view and seeing the sun go down. Also, my son wanted to say that it is an incredible place to look at the stars, the milky way, satellites and shooting stars!

The property was exactly as described, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and had everything you need for self-catering ie cooking meals from scratch. It absolutely met our expectations and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to get away from it all (we also spent a week in Barcelona, which we loved, and this was the perfect retreat afterwards).

Finally, the owner was great to deal with from booking onwards - she answered emails and questions very promptly, sent detailed instructions for finding the property (and we had no trouble finding it armed with these) and was very helpful when we had a couple of queries while at the property.

Really couldn't fault it. Perfect place to stay.

We highly recommend it!!!

My husband and I just spent 8 wonderful months living in Casa Cova Blanca. The home is incredible. It really is a work of art! And very well equipped with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. We loved our time there, and relished the quiet serenity of the mountains. We felt in compete harmony with nature, which was a welcomed retreat from our busy lives in downtown Toronto. We had many visitors over the months, ranging from my 1-year-old niece to 70-year-old father. The house really suits all age groups and all of our guests loved the unique experience and the beautifully designed home.

With the nearby beaches, hiking trails, medieval castles and quaint Spanish towns, there is lots to do in the surrounding area. In fact, my husband and I love it so much that we have decided to spend another 3 months in the area ?

Location

From the Owner

We bought in this area for it's magnificent scenery. Both being keen walkers we couldn't resist the vast tracks of mountain walking and the year round blue skies. The area is little known for it's natural treasures outside of its locale which makes it ideal for exploration with out fighting the crowds, and getting a real taste of the culture with out stamping it out. Coming from the hectic tiring cityscape we found the spaciousness and tranquil pace of life too good to miss out on.
