Villa in Cala Canutells, Nr. San Climent, Menorca - Ideal Accomodation For Spending Time With Family And Friends

An 8 to 10 person, 4 bedroom detached villa located in the small fishing village of Canutells just a 10 minute drive from the airport. The villa is in a quiet residential area about 200m from the picturesque sandy beach which has a small bar/restaurant with great views over the beach. There is another bar/restaurant and shops 250m away. Canutells is about 5km from the village of San Clemente where you will find bars, restaurants, banks and an excellent supermarket. It is a very spacious villa surrounded by a large terrace were all the family can relax. Sunloungers are provided for you to relax during the long hot summer days. The property also boasts a heated pool for all the family to enjoy. Al fresco dining can be taken in the shade adjacent the poolside terrace. A large gas fired BBQ is provided. Ideal for a quiet family holiday.

About Geoff

Hi, my name is Geoff. I am married to Clare and we have 3 boys. We bought the villa about fourteen years ago when it was not in the best of health. We have steadily upgraded and improved it over the years and we now have our dream villa. It was more than a project, it was our baby, and we have taken care to develop the villa tastefully. To this end we believe we have achieved our goal and along the way, our family has had some memorable holidays here. However, as with all families, the boys are growing up and want to see different things and enjoy new experiences. Therefore our baby has grown up too and now needs to go out and earn her keep. This means that we are able to offer the villa to all holiday makers who would like to experience what we have had for so long. Enjoy. Geoff.

Why Geoff chose Es Canutells

We love Canutells because it is a small peaceful residential village. The beach bar/restaurant is ideally situated to tempt you after a hard days sunbathing and Luis (the owner) always extends a warm welcome. Canutells also has another bar serving "full english" breakfasts and other food throughout the day. There is a Spar and car hire shop. A 10 minute drive from the airport makes it perfect for those who do not want long transfers and yet there is no aircraft noise at all. A five minute drive will get you to San Clement where there are bars and restaurants, banks and a good supermarket. A 15 minute drive will get you to the centre of Mahon - the island capital - with its lively port. A 25 minute drive will get you to the islands only golf course at Son Park. Perfect.

What makes this villa unique

Our villa is a short stroll to the beach which is located at the end of a beautiful cove. The villa is also located on the famous Cami de Cavalls, which means bridle path, and actually circumnavigates the entire island. It is very popular with walkers, mountain bike riders and horse riders.

Notes on accommodation: This Villa is fully equipped and will provide you with all your home comforts. WiFi is new for 2014 so bring your smart phones, pads etc. It is very spacious and furnished to a very high standard. We have fans around the rooms and the bedrooms have air conditioning to keep you cool throughout the long hot summer nights. Please note that the air conditioning is an optional extra and can be ordered locally at £50 per room per week. Check the weather and villa when you arrive and make your mind up then. In the garden there is a place for everyone to enjoy, you can soak up the sun on one of the sunbeds, sit in the shade and read a book or take in the scenery with a cool refreshing drink while the children take advantage of the heated pool. Inside the Villa you shall find a large selection of books, jig saws, various board games and various CDs and DVDs. Outside: This villa is set in approx 800 sq. metres of land and has a very large sun terrace and a large terraced garden, plenty of space for all to relax. There is a lovely sized heated swimming pool for private use. There is a covered patio with a large table and 8 chairs for outdoor dining in the shade. There are sunbeds for you to relax and enjoy the sun. Utility Room: There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room which is located on the lower level between bedrooms 3 and 4. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Villa will be cleaned once a week when all bed linen and towels are changed. Sorry we do not provide beach towels. A welcome pack will be provided on your arrival. The garden is attended to on a weekly basis and the swimming pool is cleaned twice weekly. Other: Roof terrace. This is where the satellite dish is mounted. There is no furniture at this level. This is a lovely viewing platform to the surrounding area but small children must be supervised at all times when taken up there.

Fantastic Villa in great location

The villa is about 15 minutes drive from the airport but there was no noise from aeroplanes, so the best of both worlds in that respect. The beach is just 2 minutes walk down the hill. There is a bar/restaurant offering great Paella and a lovely view of the bay. The beach was not too busy and has a safe swimming area for kids.

It is a short drive to Mahon which has loads of great restaurants, bars and a fantastic harbour from where went rented a boat. The Villa itself is very well decorated and clean with excellent facilities, just like a home from home. We will definitely be back here to stay again soon, we would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Special interest holidays:

The villa lies on the famous Cami de Cavalls favoured by walkers, mountain bikes and horse riders.


It is a couple if minutes walk to the beaches of Canutells. You will find 1 sandy beach, ideal for small children and 1 rocky beach and there you will also find a beach bar/restaurant. Alternatively you can travel to larger beaches (Son Bou), where water sports and banana boats can be found.


The Villa is located about 10 minutes drive from the airport. (Taxi cost would be about 20 euros) San Climent is about 5 minutes drive from Canutells. Car hire is not essential but it would enable you to explore the beautiful island of Menorca and visit some of the fantastic beaches and places of interest. You can hire a car from the airport or if you just wanted one for a couple of days this can be done at the hotel complex in Cala Canutells.


Your nearest supermarket is a 2 minute walk to the Spar at the hotel complex. There is a larger and well stocked Spar shop in San Climent where you will find everything you could possibly need for your holiday. Mahon is about 10 minute drive from the villa. There is a local bus service into the capital Mahon on a daily basis.
