Flat in Marsaxlokk, Southern Harbour, Malta - Warm Holiday is Waiting in Marsaxlokk

We are certain that you will enjoy a leisurely drink on the roof top terrace each evening and will feel refreshed by the sea air and sounds. Literally less than two blocks off the waterfront, you are quickly at the heart of village life on foot. This much photographed village is a favorite of both Maltese and tourists alike. Its colorful traditional boats or luzzu come in all shapes and sizes and are moored along the harbor front. Don't be surprised to find fishermen mending their nets or ladies selling the days catch. The daily market along the water offers local craft and wares. Sunday brings the special market day where almost anything can be found from live octopus to clothing? The harbor front is lined with excellent fish restaurants, Mediterranean cuisine and even Chinese fare. Close to the famous ruins of Hagar Qim, the Tarxien Temples and the cave of Ghar Dalam, this property is well situated for a true Maltese experience.

About The Owner

The Grechs retired to Malta after many decades of residing and raising their own family in Canada. As many Maltese do, they returned to their 'roots' and have once again made Malta their home. They are pleased to offer this flat to you and trust that your holiday will be fully enjoyed. Only a phone call and 15 minutes away, they are only too willing to help you with any problems you may have during your stay.

Why The Owner chose Island of Malta

We were always attracted to the "fishing village" atmosphere and the sea side walks. Going to the Sunday market was a wonderful habit and the colors and smells of the fresh fruits and vegetable never became old. Access to the capital from Marsaxlokk was easy and there are a number of historic sites within close proximity. In reality, nothing is far in Malta!

What makes this apartment unique

This location was ideal for us as it was quiet, traditional and near to the International airport. An "English Breakfast" is always close at hand and a cappuccino always tastes better by the sea! Picturesque in nature; it is a painter's or photographer's delight. Marsaxlokk is authentic, traditional and on the sea - what else is there?

A great base to tour the islands but away from the congestion of Valletta. At day's end you can park the car & you're a few minutes walk away from maybe the best fresh seafood restaurants anywhere.Then there's Malta's largest fishing harbour with a great Sunday market. Your hosts offer a wonderful mix of Maltese warmth & Canadian practicality & their airport pick-up is well worth it. The bottle of wine & fresh flowers were nice touches, too. Our hosts gave us unstinting help when the "ash" came. No hesitation, a great place to holiday! Xanadu (Vancouver,BC,Canada)

Spacious and very clean

The apartment was as lot bigger than expected, the photos here are spot on but don't do the size justice! The owner collected us and returned us to the airport for a small reasonable fee and was very friendly. The only downside being very noisy neighbours!! Good job we wanted to be up early each morning!!

The town itself is very pretty....but do look on Google earth for a good idea of surrounding area.

The fish market is extremely good value worth a visit fore your supplies of fish and veg!! Local wine sold in an old vodka bottle for €1.50 was wonderful!!!

I took ill unfortunately but a visit to the pharmacy and a GP appointment sorted things for me! Very friendly, keep away from the restaurants on the main strip and try sunrise cafe, terrone restaurant and one out towards the other end of town that do very cheap and lovely ftiras!!

Lovely location

Our hosts were really helpful and welcoming. The apartment was considerably larger than we anticipated and spotlessly clean. The location is quiet and the locals friendly. Evenings eating the freshest seafood on the pretty harbour front two minutes away were a perfect way to unwind and the view from the roof terrace is lovely. Highly recommended.

Check in - 3pm and Check out - 11am. However, we are flexible and willing to accommodate your flights when we are able.

The rates include the utilities. Price indicated is based on double occupancy (50Euros per night). A 20 Euro extra charge will be paid for each additional person. Children under 12 years of age 12.50 Euros Rates for long term rent upon request. Minimum 4 day booking.

Notes on accommodation: There is street parking available for those who rent a car - the bus stop is just across the boulevard. Telephone uses top up cards purchased locally. Second floor flat with stairs. Normal flights of stairs but not suitable for those with mobility problems. Outside: The rooftop terrace is private and has a lovely view of the water. It has canopy coverage during the summer for shade. You will have garden furniture available to you for use. A great place for an evening meal and glass of wine. Utility Room: The washroom on the roof has an automatic washer for your personal use and lines outside for drying. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linens and towels are provided. There is a 25 Euro one time cleaning fee for all bookings. Airport transfer can be arranged as well. No maid service. Other: An extra room is available and can be arranged if there is a need for increased sleeping capacity. Extra persons - 25 Euros per night
