About the Owner

Hi, my name is Tony, and my family, Di and Isabelle and I are the proud owners of Le Pelliahu. We live in Australia, but love the mountains and Morzine is home!

I am a long time ski tragic, having started when I was in short trousers. I did a couple of seasons as I got a bit older and really got the bug.

Now I don't ski quite so much but having a place in the snow really helps, and teaching Isabelle to Ski is just the best experience. Le Pelliahu is fantastic in the summer as well, we spent a wonderful few weeks there last year in summer, it was just amazing.

I hope that you will join us at Le Pelliahu, I know that you will have a wonderful time.

All the best.

When we arrived at Le Pelliahu it was immediately welcoming. Warm, cosy, and homely. Everything looked brand new! We had a fantastic stay, really comfy beds, and amazing views. We can't fault it and will definitely be back again. Thanks very much! Paul, Liz and company, London.

Great Place to Stay - perfect for us all! Wonderful views with comfort for all. Every need catered for. Enjoyed the late night views and wine on the balcony. Thanks from all of us. Mike, Anna and family.

Fantastic Chalet, great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Tony's Chalet Le Pelliahu. Great facilities and very friendly and helpful owner and resort staff. Our arrival was very easy and the apartment was clean, warm and welcoming.

One of the very best we have been in.

The TV, WIfi and stereo/DVD were brilliant and the kids were very happy - as were the Adults! Its great to have 2 bathrooms. The beds were all really really comfortable, with lovely comfy mattresses and quality bedding, not like some of the squishy thin ones we have been in before.

We were a bit worried about the snow but it was BRILLIANT!!! All of us are really looking forward to our next trip to Morzine and we will certainly go back to Tony's apartment.

In short everyone had a great holiday and we think this is a great quality and great value apartment, thank you Tony

We arrived at this apartment about 8pm on the Saturday evening and were able to access to the building with the instructions that were passed to us by Tony before we left the UK, these were easy to follow. The apartment itself was clean, tidy, and modern, the beds were comfortable, I can’t fault the accommodation at all, and it’s certainly the best that we have stayed in. The location of the apartment is on one of the bus routes that leaves the main ski bus area every 20 mins so if you are lucky enough to catch it the stop is about a minutes walk to the apartment. If you don’t catch it the walk is about 10-12 mins. We left our skis at Berger Ski Hire which is located at the bottom of the Pleney, so the walk back was ok. If you wanted to carry your own skis then I would suggest you wait for the bus! Unless you are super fit and don’t mind walking in ski boots!

As my family are mostly vegetarians and its just simpler for me to cook I found all the equipment in the apartment that I needed

The supermarket stocked most foods and we were able to eat a decent meal every night (I did make the rest of the family wash up -eh, we were all on holiday after all!).

All in all this Tonys apartment is in a brilliant location and I would certainly recommend it. If you are thinking of driving there is space outside the apartment building which you would share with the other residents.

We had a fab time and I will certainly book again when we go back to Morzine. Thank you Tony for all your quick and helpful correspondence.

Wonderfull Morzine

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice holiday in chalet Le Pelliahu .

The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking some good meals - including the good red wine.

The beds where very comfortable and perfect with 2 nice bathrooms.

We went to Bergers Skishop to rent the skis and it was very easy to leave them there in the afternoon and take the bus home or walk ( depending on our legs condition). You get 20% discount on the rent.

Morzine is just a wonderfull place to go skiing and we were very happy to stay in Chalet Pelliahu

Simply Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for our second time in 12 months in this wonderful chalet in February 2012, and as soon as we arrived it brought back all the fantastic memories from the previous trip, in fact the memories started as we made the winding trip up to Morzine from Geneva airport with one of the helpful shuttle services that run continuously throughout the year.

As we arrived it was just how we remembered it, gorgeous and in true French style on the outside but modern, cosy and well equipped on the inside. The chalet is always kept impeccably clean and maintained by the owner and his chalet manager, I would also like to add that the customer service is also of a very high standard, emails, phone calls and requests are answered very quickly and efficiently.

The chalet gives you that 'home away from home' feeling. Little things like board games, the latest magazines and WiFi really make you feel like you have stepped into a home, and not just some accommodation. It's a pleasure to stay here. Curling up around the fireplace with a apres-ski drink is just perfect to wind down from a busy day on the mountain.

The village too, is just wonderful. It is only a 5 minute stroll to the town centre where you will find every local delight you would want in this pretty French village. The local restaurants are wonderful, La Rotonde just 2 min from the chalet is a must try! I loved the frog legs and a few of their other local dishes.

I can't write all this without commenting on the snow, because after all, that is what we were there for. One word, AMAZING! I have been skiing for 18 years, and Portes du Soleil delvers some of the best skiing and snow that I have ever had. There is something for everyone, from the most extreme to the beginners and everyone in between. There is so much terrain to cover, in the 6 weeks I have spent in total there, I did not manage to ski the whole resort. Not only is it wonderful skiing, but they are the prettiest mountains I have ever skied in.

I cannot recommend this chalet and the surrounding area enough. As I write this, I am hoping to make plans again to return early next year for some more amazing skiing, photos, memories and most of all fun with good friends. If you are considering staying here, just go ahead and make the booking, you won't be disappointed, I promise! :)

Review of Chalet Le Pelliahu

  • 5 of 5

This is our second trip to Morzine staying in the Chalet Le Pelliahu. It is still clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner provides quick responses to questions asked for information about the property and the welcoming team are very friendly and informative about the area. Easy access to town and lifts. Good central position for numerous activities, including mountain biking and walking. This property is still part of the multi-pass scheme. Morzine has numerous shops, restaurants and a family friendly swimming pool. Would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. We hope to be returning again next year, but in the winter for a skiing holiday.

From the Owner

We bought Le Pelliahu to have a place in the Alps for the long term. We chose Morzine because of its great snow, the fantastic variety of skiing, its amazing proximity to the UK and also to Chamonix, Italy, Switzerland, and the fantastic summer features as well, I could go on. Put all that together with the amazing in resort facilities and the value for money compared to such places as the three valleys, Whistler etc and for our money it was the best choice.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Restaurant : at 400 Metres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Friendly experienced English resort staff are on hand to help you make the most of your limited time and maximise your enjoyment. Le Pelliahu has full in resort support facilities, so if you would like ski passes, skis and boots, transfers to and from the airport, and much more then we can do all this. Should you wish to organise all this yourself then thats OK as well!

In the summer, we are part of the 'Multi pass' scheme (lots of places aren't), which allows guests to access the ski lifts (including bikes), swimming pools, petit train and other in resort facilities for only 1 Euro a day per person - this is fantastic value!

Morzine is a great ski resort, in the heart of one of the largest ski networks, the Portes du Soleil, which has over ten linked resort lift systems.

Away from the slopes there are a wide variety of activities: snow-shoe treks, horse rides, canoeing, paragliding, night sledging, skidoo rides, ice-diving, ice-climbing, hot-air balloons, helicopter rides. For après ski, Morzine is full of bars, restaurants, shops, and fantastic food.

The nearest airport is Geneva which is an hour away. If you wish to drive then it is a 7 - 8 hour drive from Calais.

A car is not needed to stay at Le Pelliahu, although parking is available, and if you have small children it is allways helpful to have a car.

Morzine really is a top spot. It is less than 20 minutes from Switzerland, an hour from Chamonix, Mont Blanc, and the tunnel to Italy, and an hour to Annecy.

Its fun to pop to Italy for a spot of shopping and dinner, and there's still enough time to get comfortably home for bed.

The Chalet is 8 minutes walk from the Centre of town, Pleney and Super Morzine.

Further Details:

The Chalet has free Wifi.

The supermarket, the village centre and the shops are all a short stroll, the free bus goes past the door, all the facilities you need right on your doorstep!

Morzine really is a very beautiful place, with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, and its so convenient.

Le Pelliahu is special. It is perfect for Families and Groups. There are not very many small Chalet blocks so close to everything with spacious apartment units that sleep 8. Le Pelliahu ticks all the boxes, location, location, location, quality, proximity, transport, comfort, views, and facilities. It has all the facilities you could want - if there is something not there you want that's not these then please e-mail me and although we might not be able to get it that week, we will look into it.
