Located in one of the most desirable locations on the Costa Blanca, this spacious one -bedroom apartment is the perfect getaway either for a weekend break or longer vacation. With stunning views of the Mediterranean coast and surrounding mountains the apartment block is situated in Cap Negret, a ten minute walk from the town centre. The pebble beach is unpopulated providing privacy, peace and tranquillity The apartment block was built in the late 1970 s and is surrounded by large beautiful gardens. ained by the resident permanent conciérge and his wife. Altea is regarded as the best of the upmarket resorts of the Alicante province. The whitewashed old town which nestles on a hilltop overlooking the main town provides a popular haven for local artists and never ceases to charm. The bustling working town is blessed with a beautiful promenade, shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

We (wife and I) travel to Spain at least four times every year and typically go a little further north to Jalon. This year has been different and it's fair to say a 'holiday changer'. We've been to Altea lots of times like many holiday makers to visit the market on a Tuesday however we never appreciated just what Altea has to offer. The apartment is exactly as the owners describe it (in fact better) and the location is sufficiently out of the hustle and bustle whilst still being close enough to benefit from everything that is available.

I'm writing this sat on the balcony of our last day - I can hear the waves lapping, can see the lights up the mountain and have just agreed with my wife that we will be back again (more than once!)

Well maintained property in fine location

Just returned from this apartment it is what it says in the description cracking views on both sides easy access to pool and beach gardens are beautiful well maintained short walk from the tram stop, longer into Altea .

The apartment is well equipped only one downside for us very small shower

The tram ride takes 2/3minutes into the centre of Altea, or alternatively a brisk 10 minute walk.

Great chill out

The apartment block was in a great location and we had uninterrupted views of both sea, beach and the hills of Altea. The property was clean and we had no problems.

Transport via bus and trams (stations in Altea Centre and nearby to apartment). A pleasant walk on straight road will take you over the bridge into Altea. Mercadona supermarket is to be found over the railway bridge from centre square and turn left. There are lots of local shops.

The promenade boasts lots of bars of various types to enjoy.

We discovered lots of eateries and bars at differing price range. The owner's description and notes of the area was very helpful and accurate.

Excellent Holiday

Excellent holiday in a very comfortable and well equipped apartment in a lovely location. We spent two weeks there in August and had a lovely time.

The apartment is situated at Cap Negret and is a 15 minute walk into Altea with it's many shops, restuarants and bars. Also a frequent bus service from Altea takes you into Benidorm (a forty minute ride away).

Being keen walkers and liking to explore we found many places to visit and enjoy. We also liked to relax on the (pebble) beach, which is just in front of the apartment.

The owners description and information about the apartment was very accurate and we felt very relaxed and able to chill, which is just what we needed.

Although it is walk into Altea, we are looking forward to returning this summer and exploring some more.

From the Owner

We fell for the charms of Altea after visiting with friends who had also invested in the area. Immediate thoughts that come to mind when in Wales in the cold and damp is Altea's micro climate and long sunny days, the turquoise sea, the changing colours of Calpe rock which we see from our balcony, and following a day of sun, wonderful food and wine, the sounds of the sea at bedtime. Transport links are excellent and all the neighbouring towns along the coast are within easy distance. Alicante is one of the most well used destinations and very accessible for us with direct flights from Cardiff and Bristol and not forgetting the train stop from Alicante which is a short walk from the apartment. Altea has everything, and really does live up to its name of 'the pearl of the costas'.

Special interest holidays:

All of the resorts along the Costa Blanca started life as fishing villages, so it is unsurprising that they are ideal for all sorts of water-based activities. There are two water sports centres serving Altea and both offering diving, windsurf, fishing, boat cruises and sailing. The Luis Campomanes harbour is home to some of the most spectacular yachts and the clear waters of Altea bay offer a treasure of marine life. Superb area for walking/ climbing on Costa Blanca's beautiful mountain ranges.

Inland there are some great walking trails where the visitor can explore hidden valleys and towering mountain peaks. The promenade stretches the whole of the coastline from Altea to Albir. Spain’s largest theme park in Benidorm’s Terra Mitica is an ideal daytrip for young families as is the Vergal Safari park north of Calpe. Other places of interest are the mountain village of Guadalest with its castle and gift shops and Altea’s concert hall which promotes concerts throughout the year.


The beaches of Calpe 11kms to the north and Benidorm 8kms to the south are renowned for their cleanliness and white golden sands. All the neighbouring towns along the Costa Blanca north coastline have great beaches. The two main beaches Altea town are a mixture of sand and pebbles. Regular boat trips to the main coastal resorts depart from Altea harbour.


Alicante airport is forty five minute drive from the apartment. Valencia and Murcia are alternative airports. A tram and train service with stunning views of the coast runs from Alicante to Denia. The journey to Altea takes about one hour thirty minutes and stops in Altea town and very conveniently at Cap Negret, a five minute walk from the apartment. There is a bus stop opposite the apartment and buses also run frequently from the town centre. Car rental is a good option but not essential.

Further Details:

There is plenty to do without venturing out of Altea for visitors needing a restful holiday. The apartment is conveniently located for local walks such as a stroll to the picturesque village of La Olla, 1km, a walk to Albir along the beautifully developed esplanade from central Altea - 40 mins or following a lazy day by the pool, a walk up the old town and its charming square -25 mins. There is a wealth of excellent restaurants and tapas bars in both the new and old town, as well as the cafes, restaurants and bars on the promenade and not forgetting the beautiful shops. The weekly outdoor market is rated as one of the best in the region as is the antique and flea market at nearby El Cisne.

Denia, Calpe and Benidorm are all worth a visit and can be reached by train or bus. A pleasant car ride (30 mins) into the mountains will take you to historic Guadalest and further inland is the pleasant town of Javea.

From the Owner

The real joy of this property is its spacious grounds and closeness to the sea. As a 1970 s build we love its charm and the wonderful facilities such the beautifully kept gardens and pools. The beach is unpopulated and peaceful. A typical day for us would be breakfast on the balcony watching the residents taking their early morning swim or the speedboats skimming the waters, a walk to nearby L'Olla or the promenade for some lunchtime tapas and crisp white wine, an afternoon swim in the pool followed by a siesta in readiness for an evening walk up to the old town for some wonderful food and wine. Even though only a short distance away from the town centre's hustle and bustle, Cap Negret has its own restaurants, supermarkets and bars which are only a short walk away from the apartment.

  • Notes on accommodation: Furnished with comfort in mind, the apartment is on one level. Central heating radiator in living area provides ample warmth due to the mild year round climate. Blankets are provided for the cooler months. Suitable for babies and older children but not toddlers. Outside: The gardens lead to the beach. The beautifully maintained lawns, plants and sunbathing areas surround the large outdoor pool with poolside table and chairs. The indoor pool is heated during the cooler months with changing area, shower, wc, table tennis. Both the gardens and pools are private and for the sole use of residents and holiday – makers. There is off-road parking at the back of the building. A large secure parking area to the side has a charge of 9 euros per week by arrangement with the conciérge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, bedlinen etc, beach towels included, (extra beach towels needed if more than two persons). Property is cleaned prior to arrivals. Towels and bed linen collected on departure. Baby equipment, welcome packs available, meet and greet if required. Other: The balcony is a large area stretching the breadth of the apartment with wonderful views and used as extra living and eating space; table, chairs, loungers, sun umbrella, clothes dryer.
