I live with my husband David and 2 rescued parrots. David and I enjoy gardening which clients will see evidence of in our villa in Menorca. This is our second home and we love it very much. We enjoy the peacefulness of the property and the privacy the large walled garden gives. There are restaurants nearby which give you the chance to experience the good cuisine of Menorca or if preferred there is Gastropub run by a very friendly British Couple.

We fell in love with Menorca in 1999 first owning a small apartment in Playas de Fornells. Over the years we have spent as much time as possible there and find the Menorcan people friendly and welcoming.

After spending some years on holiday at our apartment we fell in love with the island life. We decided to buy a villa because we wanted to be able to spend time on the island in the cooler months as well as the summer. When we arrive at our villa it is our 'second home' so quickly relax.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : MAHON at 3 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Casino at 1 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : MAHON at 3 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Son Parc at 10 Kilometres Nearest Beach : CALAN PORTER at 4 Kilometres

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Cala'n Porter but there are many beaches on the island easily accessible by car. Mahon is about 10 mins away and has a beautiful harbour with many restaurants and bars. In the summer clients can also take a local bus into St, Clemente, Mahon or Cala'n Porter from the entrance to the Binixica.

Travel:

Airport approx. 3km away. Car hire is essential in Menorca if you wish to explore the classic villages, towns and beaches. Car hire be arranged on your behalf.

Distances:

As Menorca is small most places outside of St. Clemente, Cala'n Porter and Mahon are just a short car journey away. Monte Torre (the highest point on the island) is situated in the geographic centre and is approx. 30 mins drive. Cuitedella the old capital is at the other end of the island and a 45 min drive.

Further Details:

The village of St. Clemente has a supermarket, bars, banks, chemists, restaurants and a church. The Casino restaurant and bar has a jazz club on Tuesday evenings. St. Clemente fiesta is held in the 3rd week of August. The caves D'en Xoroi in Cala'n Porter are worth a visit but have a lot of steps. It has bars and provides snacks during the day and is a nightclub at night. Cala'n Porter has a larger supermarket, bars and a greater choice of restaurants some wih live entertainment. The beach is safe for children. The Ca'n Bernat restaurant is approx. 1km from the villa on the road to Cala'n Porter and offers Pizzas as well as Menorcan cuisine. Most beaches on the island offer water sports activities.

Booking enquiries either by e-mail or telephone. Booking confirmation is by telephone only. A 25% deposit is required to confirm a booking and balance is due 8 weeks before departure. A security deposit of £200 is payable with the balance. This is charged to cover any loss or damage and is refundable dependening on the housekeepers report.

Changeover Day:
We have no set changeover day so can be flexible with this. It is of course dependent on the villas occupancy.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.

We like the postion of the villa because of the quiet locality and ease of access to Mahon and the airport. We find the area peaceful and relaxing. The large gardens and privacy of the grounds allow us to spend time at ease. We can walk into St. Clemente (by the back lane) in just over 25 minutes. So we get gentle exercise with a coffee at the end of it.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: We supply 6 sundbeds with cushions. Please use towels on sunbeds and the throw over covers on the sofas. Should suntan lotion or fake tan stain towels or furniture then we have to warn our clients that if this occurs during their stay we will have to charge for the cleaning or replacement of the items.We respectfully ask that guests refrain from smoking inside the villa but do provide an ashtray on the covered terrace. Outside: Terrace table and chairs, BBQ, patio table with parasol and sun-loungers with cushions. Attractive gardens have a mixture of Mediterranean flowers, bushes and trees. The pool is in the sun most of the day and has steps to facilitate entry. In cooler weather the pool can be heated for an extra charge. Utility Room: Butler sink, Automatic washing machine, tumble dryer clothes airer, pegs iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Villa cleaned before arrival and on departure. Bathroom, kitchen towels and bedlinen supplied. If your booking is for 2 or more weeks there will be a linen change for each week. Pool and beach towels can be supplied for an extra charge.
